In a way your are right. However, it is hard to say. I was 18 years and living in my native Denmark when JFK was shot, my friends and I spend the next 4 days glued to the television just like Americans did. We had a hard time comprehend what had happened. By the time RFK was shot, I was living in Connecticut as an au pair, and coming just a few month after the MLK assassination, it was a tremendous chock, and because many people in my age group had put their hope on RFK it was very devastating. All 3 assassinations was a tragedy, and one can only imagine what the world would have looked like had even 1 of them lived, let alone all 3. Too painful to contemplate.

    • @mattsmith3835
      @mattsmith3835 2 роки тому +1

@@paulalexandermanley6479 I think it is only natural to compare actually. They were the two most famous, consequential and history altering Assassinations of the 20th century. And when I say "more tragic" I ment in terms of what it meant for the country. Bobby was our last hope to get back what was ours, the American peoples! A coup de ta occurred on November 22, 1963. The shadow government or deep state, whatever you want to call it, murdered our rightfully elected President who made decisions on what was best for our country and its citizens and replaced him with a "selected" globalist president who instead of making decisions on what's best for the citizens of the United States, he made decisions by what would best serve the nwo and military industrial complex! Bobby entered the race in '68 to try and get back what was rightfully his family's, but more importantly to get back what belonged to the American people! He knew he was the only one who could do it, and he also knew that they would try to do to him what they did to his brother, but he had to try so that the country might be saved. Senator Robert Francis Kennedy died at the hands of an assassin's bullet minutes after winning the crucial California democratic primary on June 6th, 1968. He was 42 years old and left behind his wife Ethel and 11 children. Bobby was our last hope to take our presidency and our country back. That is why I believe the RFK Assassination was more tragic. It left the entire United States hopeless

Most people run for the presidency based on ambition and the wants of power but he ran because he wanted to fix a shattered America- Nixon ran for the power, McCarthy did not have the same vision and I do not think he genuinely cared about people like Robert Francis Kennedy, Humphrey as well. No one in that election comes close to him- NONE, yet why him? Why him?

I have studied the JFK administration and the assassination since 1988. I was only 17 then, but it lead me down a path that I never expected. I discovered some things about my country that I was appalled about but I also discovered my great admiration for both John and Bobby Kennedy. Men who dared to make America a better country and because of this were murdered by men who were committed to keeping the US a world power and definitely not for good. As much as I believed that John was a great president, I believe Bobby would have even outshined him. America and the world was robbed of a wonderful leader for world peace on June 4, 1968.

The real deal - a smart and hard-working guy who actually cared about people, especially those who were poor and disenfranchised and who needed help the most. The opposite of Trump in every way. The world lost out when we lost Bobby.

If you haven't you should watch the RFK video entitled "Robert Kennedy on GDP". Amazing how relevant it still is today, even more so and a reminder as to why we need to vote in those that want to give us back our Representative Democracy. What we now have is an Oligarchy and Plutocracy and all they care about is the GDP!

What do you mean? He didnt need the presidency he was already great so what do you mean what could have been? You should mean what he already was because in a way in our hearts and minds he was already a president in that he could bring people together and bring love, hope and reconciliation because he was already great the presidency would have given him more abilities and powers to effect greater change but in many aspects he already did bring about many great changes. Basically, what I am trying to say is don't be sad because of what he already did things that already made him grea without even needing to win the presidency. Social chages/reforms, greater highlight on what the poor is going through, he put a spotlight on the bad conditions farmers go through, and all the things he did as attorney general beating the mafia. He already was great, not what could have been but for what he will always be a great person who in our hearts won the presidency before he even declared his candidacy.

Yes, the social reforms had begun, but GREAT STRIDES, GREATER ACCOMPLISHMENTS were yet to be achieved. America was robbed. Yes, we continue to strive. There were underlying evil forces responsible for his assassination, you can be sure. "They" did not want the conspiracy behind JFK's assassination to be exposed. He was a marked man, just like his brother. Tremendous loss for this nation

Coco Taveras, There is no need to attack. When I look at the condition that our country is in today, I think the same thing - what could have been? If you have not noticed the slow, but steady decline of our nation since the assassinations of JFK, MLK, and RFK in the 1960’s, then there is nothing more I can say.

He would have been a good President. We can only surmise or imagine what he might have been if he wouldn't get shot. I get mistaken for one of his relatives. I don't know that I am, but what I do know is that along with the honor comes the insight into the reality of being a Kennedy. The Kennedys presented us with insight into the reality of both the Presidency and the reality of the Civil Rights issue. Rumors have that I also had a girlfriend killed by an assassin and as a result that puts me to the reality and makes me have to present the insight into the reality of being a Kennedy. I claim and have room to claim that nobody outside the Kennedy family has a closer insight into the reality of being a Kennedy than myself. Another assassination victim whose last name is King brought me to it. When it happened in 1991 my mom said "So in other words, the slug hit home for you", and I said, "Yes. The slug hit home. It's November 22, 1963, all over again and this time Bobby has nobody to stand by him". That was in response to another King assassination in 1991.

I wrote this poem about Robert Kennedy:
AND I HAVE BEEN IN LOVE WITH NIGHT EVER SINCE YOU DIED
    by
    David Gottfried
"When he shall die take him and cut him out into stars and he shall make the face of heaven so fine that all the world will be in love with night and pay no worship to the garish sun."
Robert Kennedy, quoting from Romeo and Juliet at the 1964 Democratic Convention
Lead me into war Bobby Kennedy
Lead me into that holiest of wars
Crashing into the gates of hell bloody and beautiful on a
Night satin ride of hating love
Like fires foresting through the hills and dales
In every mournful slum screaming for your sun.
    The son of god
    Of Jesus you were
    You were Jesus Bobby Kennedy
And I have been in love with night ever since you died
I want to die with you Bobby Kennedy.
Caring not for the brain dead ways that they call calm,
I want to grab onto your car and never let go.
Going faster, faster as the spring sweeps its storms,
As Lucy's vengeful diamonds rain Tet's fire
On all our Souths of rice and cotton.
As the teaming, screaming colored kids dance in your waves
    Calling sweetly, meekly, cryingly,
    We loved you Bobby Kennedy
Of Caesar of Chavez of my Mark Antony
Of the Hot Roman Streets blinding the Night.
    That merry mad catholic cacophony,
of Irish and Latins and Jews with a Hebrew Soul.
Of Subways singing all the way to Harlem and Nathan's
    and Coney Island.
Of Knishes and Pizzas and Hot Dogs,
and we hope we didn't give you indigestion.
    We loved you Bobby Kennedy
Of all the Strikes and Smokestacks of Aunt Rose
    and Uncle Lou
Of all the tears of Jersey towns huddling to your death train
Of the Cities of the Summer streaming to your sight
Of the sad sooted buildings billowing with your people
Of West Side Story and all the Marias who cried for you
Of how your brother, too, was killed by a white man
Of the aching heart that knows it is too coarse a thing to heal.
That cannot heal until it caresses you and tells you
    We loved you Bobby Kennedy
    Our Prince
    Our knight
    In Shining White Armour
Whose Golden Hair Glistened in the Sun
    Whose sweet emanations gleamed like
    Jackie's jewels
Our Sergeant Pepper careening on California waves,
You are John Lennon, you are Lord Byron
    Shouting Sonnets at Chillon.
You are the man whom every good man wanted to be.
    We loved you Bobby Kennedy
