As I'm from the city where these rugs are made, i want to know the world that these weavers aren't paid well for their hard work. Hense this art is at extinction.

One carpet costs over $12000 cause William Sonoma keeps $11500 in profits.

You assume too much, no company in the world has that kind of insane margin. There's a lot of costs involved in delivering a product to the consumer.

Is it just me or does the last carpet used in the Indian government look like peacock 🦚 feathers!
You like that, don’t you
Yes it is intentional
Yes because that is the design
Peacock is "National Bird" of India.
It is actually ❤
They work so hard
And don't get compensated nearly enough for their work.
Yeah... work hard and you can get anywhere in life. Seemingly not the case for these folks tho... I wonder why🤔
and still got paid less
Out of respect for the hands that created such beauty, I could never wear shoes on these rugs.
Kalin Bhaiya is the King of this business 👑
1 million hours = 114 years and 56 days
114 years of man hours and divide it with 900 because that's the number of workers worked
To be precise 900 personnel with 8 hour shifts can do it in 138.88 days 🤓
Long live my india . You are going to get glory back one day
I hope they get paid appropriately for their skill....phenomenal
nah
You think
$2 a day
They get paid the same amount that Nike sweatshop kids get - pennies.
But better than starving. This factory looks like they live quite good.
They even have protection gear
This industry is situated in a small town known as Bhadohi near the ancient city of Varanasi, Utter Pradesh, India!
