Overview of Europe's Largest Racing Pigeon Market. We stroll by the baskets where mostly young birds (but also older ones) are ready to meet their new owners.

Before most market visitors arrive, the sellers set up their stand at the market in front of the Town Hall in Lier.

Wish such a sale existed here in the US.
It's a dying sport here.
Everything connected to it is big money.
No young flyers.

Only kidding. Here in the US there is no opportunity to buy young birds like this.
It's also a dying sport. Absolutely no youth involved. All big/greedy money to join a club and/or to purchase quality stock. No one is going to sell you anything good anyway - and still charge stupid money.

@@deanguando1335 was happy to see some very young buyers and sellers in recent weeks. Both domestic and from nearby countries. However, it is clear that also here the popularity of the sport is not as it was a few years back. Keeping birds also means sacrificing a lot of time, few holidays, etc.
