I love Inquisition. They live in Seattle and sometimes I get lucky and see them out and about! They're very nice guys. I have never missed any of their shows at all. Hail Dagon and Incubus!!🤘🤘💥💞
I also posted this at the video of their 2016 Hellfest gig. This is seriously one of the most creative and unique sounding guitar playing not only in black metal, but the whole metal genre overall. Every single one of these riffs is distinctive, recognizable and just reeks Inquisition. This band has truly invented their own sound basically since the first album. You can tell from the first seconds of every LP that it's Inquisition, yet every album is different and puts accents elsewhere. The combination of fast, outrageous playing, mid-paced chugging and those slow pulled chords - at times melancholic, other times totally twisted and alien like in many songs of "Obscure Verses for the Multiverse" album, probably my favorite - all that makes for THAT sound. And I know "groove" isn't the most liked and accurate term among the community of more "serious" side of metal (not to sound elitist, but those listening to black metal on daily basis probably know what I mean), but man you can't deny this band has it. It's fucking catchy but not in a irritating and intended way, it's just emerges naturally and sounds as it is. And on top of it all you have THESE vocals - it's resembles more spoken word than singing, hangs around the almost laughable side, sometimes so over the top that it becomes grotesque - yet they somehow fit so much and seem to be incorporated in a perfect manner, as if this voice was born to exist for this band. Just stellar performances, I think those songs sound even better than on studio albums. The only thing missing is that magnificient solo during the slow part of "Astral Path to Supreme Majesties" - god I so wish they hired a second guitarist for that one part alone. Otherwise - fucking flawless!!!
@@BlasphemousVerses aaaand Darkthrone isn’t even as high up there as they once used to be. They are VERY overhyped. They have a lot of great material over the years, pick and choose from some albums.. respect them highly as musicians. But their latest few albums are for me non-interesting and boring.. even though they claim themselves to be heavily inspired by their favourite bands, I don’t feel it when I play their last records. Inquisition for me has a lot more to give, more genuine, mystical and the key is to merge Satan and space in the way only they can do.. it creates this total package which takes you away.. 🔥🔥
@@Forferdelse666 I wouldn't go as far as saying Darkthrone is overhyped. What they are known for and praised for is still the benchmark for Black Metal and half the DSBM library has found their genesis in Transilvanian Hunger (production wise especially). Now their "new" (shit is by now almost 20 years old I suppose) is not really anything to write home about. Also don't take inspiration as lifting style and sound from bands / projects you like. Hoest from Taake takes inspiration from shit like Sisters of Mercy. I can be inspired by Black Metal whilst I'm drawing that doesn't mean I'm drawing literal black metal themes and figures. I do think you are more tired of people constantly calling Burzum, Mayhem and Darkthrone (etc.) to be their most favourite most awesome band ever when neither has come out with anything that ever touched what they were doing earlier. And for that I fully agree and in that sense I guess overhyped could be used.
does anybody know why Dagon doesn´t sing the songs are they are, i mean, one doesn´t have to be the best english speaker to realize how the lyrics of some of the songs( i start to think all of them at least a bit ) are changed when he is on stage. for instance in "dark mutilation rites" its lyrics is quite different from the "original" one .
If I remember correctly, he said that when he plays live he wants the experience to be a mesmerizing ritual and he improvises most of the time because the album lyrics kind of get in the way in terms of not sounding properly.
Ivan Maric but the lyrics all deal with everything your talking about ,so why say gibberish ( clearly what he is doing , he makes no attempts to even pronounce anything) rather then the actual lyrics? Am not getting his way of thinking there
Nick Gaetano - I guess it falls under the "artistic freedom of expression" category. Either way, live Inquisition is all about the hypnotizing sound and ritual atmosphere.
Ivan Maric this is true and I have seen them once 3 years ago and couldent give a shit if the lyrics were pronounced right because as you said , the atmosphere was the real star if the performance

Inquisition have their style almost copy pasted from Immortal. And Immortal/Abbath have done more for Black Metal than any other band.
On a serious note. They should get a bass player. You might not notice it much in Recordings, because they always find a way to cover it up, but when they play live you can tell something's missing.

The vocals are like beer, whiskey or anything sharp with a hideous taste initially.. it takes time for your brain to start liking some of it. When it clicks, it really fuckin’ clicks. Inqui would not be Inqui without these vocals..

i couldn't of said it any better this band is MAGNIFICENT
Trust me when i say, this video was the best thing that happened to me today.
6 years later and it’s still the best video to happen!
One of the best Black metal bands
The best.
This band is incredibly unique. Quite serious compositions.
As far as I know in terms of combined video and audio quality their best live video available yet
that one video record at hellfest 2016 is pretty awesome too
They deserve a place at Wacken, a very brutal band, Viva Colombia Hpta !!! lml
An absolutely incredible band
The drummer has such an unorthodox way of playing, fucking incredible though.
77rsk can't stand "orthodox" anything...literally means unoriginal,uninventive,predictable and...boring.
Great performance and the ending to Desolate Funeral Chant always makes me smile!
The best band ever. Period.
what a heavy fucking band, awesome. Want to see them live
Крутая группа 🤟😈👍
De Colombia para el mundo!
Adore Inquisition!!!
Second best duo after Fenriz and Nocturno but Dagon and Incubus are amazing, hail Inquisition!
Grimm i dont know if darkthrone counts because they adds the bass and another guitar in post.
Yeah but here's the thing, Inquisition sound like a fucking tank live, with two dudes, Fenriz and Ted don't even play live
TheJulien44 no they don't

Dagon plays two guitars and a bass at the same time. Not many other guitarists who can pull that off
Does anyone know what guitar Dagon uses?

Me gustó su sonido 🤔

Inquisition needs to merge with Abbath
Inquisition is thousands times better than Abbath's solo career.
Rögnirgöden abbath is a comedy act meme...Inquisition are serious artists with integrity, a very rare trait in BM and music in general.
That's the black metal equivalent to saying that you wanna see a gay porno of Chuck Norris and Justin Bieber...
