How to Update Your Phone Number for iMessage and FaceTime

You can easily change your phone number for iMessage and FaceTime. You just have to make sure to turn off both iOS and FaceTime first.
Once you turn them off, you can access your phone number via iCloud and on the phone tab of the settings page.
Once you change your number, turn on iMessage and FaceTime and the new number that you added will reflect on iMessage and FaceTime.

I recently got a new number, everything pretty much works great. But when I text another apple user off iMessage, it comes up as my email instead of my number. Now usually you would just be able to go in settings, send and receive, then select your number instead of email, but the number that is in my send and receive is my old number and when I select it it goes grey with the loading circle at the side and after about 20 minutes it goes back to normal selecting my email. I need help setting the number in ‘send and receive’ to my new number

Am I able to use a deactivated phone number with iMessage? I want to move my deactivated sim card from my old Android phone to my iPhone to use iMessage.
