Robin the tactician pro tip:
Break their weapon with my face... ahahah
ElMan_Grammar_Freak Now that's strategy!
Wallace of Fire Emblem 7 was right!
best tactic ever
$2.50 doesn’t seem so expensive now...
Yup you can save 100+ years of your life with 2.50 dollars.
EXACTLY. EX-FUCKING-ACTLY
Yeah, but you still need to get to the point of using the gate first.
and it's now free with a modded 3ds ;)
You're supporting nintendos shitty dlc practices tho
I actually like this guy's sense of humor.
Of all the strategists that viewed this guide, 98 were impressed. Exalt Emmeryn was quite impressed!

Honestly I imagined this community as the kind of group that would be against using the bonus box or wireless teams or DLC altogether, glad to see most people don't call people trash for using DLC.
Well, anything else looks plain sadistic to me, so I think it's very justified to use DLC. It's hard enough to even get to this point
This all could have been avoided if they had actually scaled lunatic to a reasonable level. As it is, the beginning is way too hard due how overpowered enemy units are compared to your own. I really wish they could have made lunatic difficult without making enemies kill you in one hit.
+Vampire Beaver Lunatic, or Lunatic+? Because vanilla Lunatic is a lot more fair.
Really? I couldn't even beat the prologue on lunatic, and I know people would tell me to just use Frederick, but I feel like being forced to use certain characters, or in this case being forced to buy downloadable content for one of the core game modes is bad design.
Vampire Beaver You're not forced to do any of that.
Vanilla Lunatic no grind is a regular thing on the forums.
Lunatic+ is a lot harder and has only a few playlogs of no grind. But you are NEVER forced to buy DLC to beat the game at any difficulty.
I'll just take your word for it.
@@jarrettblake8532
It actually took me a lot of resets to figure out how to do it on prologue. Then I deleted that Casual file and made a new Lunatic - Classic. Because who needs sanity anyway? But yeah I am not going to attempt Lunatic + right after this.
I know this is very old, but for the money issue, I picked up a Leif's Blade and reclassed my MU to mercenary so Armsthrift would prevent weapon use, even if only once in a while. I'd reset if I didn't get any bullions. Since buying another Leif's Blade from spotpass is less than 1000 gold, this method was pretty efficient.
I think I got it.
Pair up Frederick with Kellam for high Def (in my situation), unequip all weapons for no killing enemies. When all enemies' weapons are broken I attack with Chrom (if I don't want to run out of money buying weapons) for...1 and eventually 0 xp aaaaaaaand level up and repeat the same process over and over and over until I want to quit playing on Lunatic...
Sebastian Rodriguez Thanks, Mr. Fancypants!
Forget being patient, I used Frederick on chapter 4 so I could unlock DLC. ...I'm using the same process on Hard. I don't feel like using DLC on that play through.
orrr
you can use this time to get a job
and pay for the dlc ?
@@NeostormXLMAX I know this is 8 months late, but you responded to a 2 year old comment so I don't care.
You kind of missed an important detail. He bought the dlc man.
Oh gods, I didn't think to grind that way! Ugh...
*Looks back to taking on Nyna over and over again with only two units at a time including Fredrick and whomever.*
..I'll just spend 2.50 on the DLC and save a couple hours of my time.
themysteriousfigure0 A *COUPLE* hours? This looks more like over a DOZEN HOURS. I haven't spent more than 50 hours on any of my 5 save files, and this is to get chrom to a rating of what, 140 or something? Hell no, i'll just play hard classic.
Well I kinda wanted to make every one of my unites OP, so the DLC came in really handy lol.
YOU KNOW WHAT
i could be working at mcdonalds with this time
How? You still can't boost your stats easy... Right?
couple? may be 10-20hours instead?)))
... I'm done trying to play lunatic, I wanted to get the full experience, not the classic experience mind you, but something that demanded I use a bit more thought than I'm used to. (because on Normal I realized that my "strategy" was throw the avatar and Chrom into the middle of the enemies' attack area, and let them faceroll anyone who dared attack them).
But this is too much, (how dare you not buy DLC, no lunatic for you!) Maybe Hard will ask more of me but by more I don't mean my soul and then some.
Thank you for the guide, I may not apply the contents as shown, but I did get value out of it. The knowledge that I should cut my losses now.
You didn't miss out on much. After the first 3 chapters on lunatic it seems the best strategy is to do exactly what you were doing on Normal.
@@Oddigan it takes much longer than three chapters, but yes. also before the turning point, the best strategy is still the same thing, just with fredrick. you do have to use strategy on lunatic+ though.
Barke Dog no dude, chapter 4, 5 you can't really pull that off as well as Donnel chapter.
Go repeatedly murder low level spotpass teams like Florina or something. Set your advanced auto to "Blitz", Skip Actions to "All", and go to town.
You could spend an hour at college university. Go out to lunch at one of the campus restaurants and have five streetpass teams within 30 minutes.
I bet this is Kellum's true purpose once you get him.
Nah Kellam just dies to most things on lunatic because he’s to slow
Who?
Kellam is actually worth it if you train him. But sadly, he isn't tanky enough in first few levels not to mentions his HP gain is just... kinda awful
@@valemontgomery9401 nobody knows.....
Regarding this, I tryed lunatic once, and MU was doubled and killed by the first enemy in the game, a generic myrmidon. (I don’t think I spelled that correctly.)
Actually, you did.
and that's why this game is called fredrick emblem
Mate, you spelled "tried" wrong but you spelled "myrmidon" correctly....
I find that very cool
Here’s what I did: get renown awards (I for some reason constantly killed spotpass enemies all the time)
Apply renown awards to avatar
Pair up other characters with avatar and wipe the spotpass team while getting event tiles
I’ve killed Edward so many times I went from around 40000 renown and I’m now about to get the supreme emblem
Isn't Edward's team the weakest Spotpass team in the game? That's the one I used for grinding when I first played this mode.
Thanks for the tips dawg! I actually managed to run into a further difficulty that you didn't mention, however: exp caps. Apparently if you attack an enemy too much, they stop giving the attacking unit any experience. My Chrom was a lot lower level than yours, so he eventually stopped getting exp for the damage he did, and I had to bring in the big guns (i.e. Frederick) to finish out the level. Back to face-tanking with Fred and Kellen again, I guess...
...or $2.50 and save a lifetime in hours.
He actually does mention that at 2:40
So it's either this or trying to play without grinding, which is impossible?
Tanman Tanner and luck too dodge critical...
This video popped up in my "recommended" videos list so I didn't realize this was uploaded today. Totally unrelated, but I felt i should share
idk why this is in my recommended in 2021, but I admire the sheer balls of this man
Yesterday (Thursday), I got 6 streetpass tags for Mii Plaza. And all of it was while going to during, and leaving from my college classes. There are also the newly added Streetpass Relay stations at all Nintendo Zone hotspots. Getting to the 99999 renown is definitely going to take a while. If you can do the Double Duel, do the more difficult ones, (last 3 from Spotpass updates) you receive 135 per clearing.
Thanks for the tip. Have to try this when I feel like doing a Lunatic playthrough. Though it will take some time.
This is a great guide in case some of the players are trying off for harder strategy or do not want to spend $6 for the map pack. But damn son. Thats a lot of patience and a really hard face tactician.
God damn it, Rey. I swear you're in an abusive relationship with this game.
Instead of making it all RNG, they should of just made it like HHM in FE7. More units, with weapons that will kill you, unless you single out each enemy. One. By. One.
At the beginning I overused Fredrick and he was able, if paired with Chrome, to finish plenty of the random squirmishes. The "secret" was to deploy only them, so I didn't have to defend anyone else. Then put them in a good evasion tile and kill everyone. It worked until around mid-game, when the squirmishes just got extremely hard... but at that point that got me very good funds and a ver good Fredrick and Chrome. That was on Lunatic, I have yet to test if it works on Lunatic+ (I'm guessing not).
Is this the best choice for grinding on lower difficulties as well or are skirmishes more reliable in that case?
so do you hit X and then going to character inventory to use the reeking boxes I'm doing this while being blind I know where the shops are and what they sell thanks to games FAQ and voice over but I'm wondering how do you go and use Master Seals and reeking box
What's the first song? Starting at 0:22?
Didn't know you could reset for event tile bonuses.
You basicly put your Avatar+Lissa on the water on the left of the bridge, while Chrom+Fred stay in the water on the right (both in the middle tile, out of enemy range). Get the enemy mage to attack your Avatar+Lissa, you'll get him down by using a vulnerary every turn and waiting for him to die to your thunder tome. After that, you can attack every melee enemy from 2 range with your tome and get them without any chance of death.
I used a variant of this strategy on my lunatic playthrough. I just overleveled chrom and killed them rather than waiting for their weapons to break. I am not that masochistic. Also, you can buy leif's blades from leif in spotpass for just over 800 gold, so armsthrift is not entirely necessary.
How do you get his defense so high in the first place?
Mario Plus i need to know this. commenting for notifications if someone responds.
+KingTroll He probably chose to have an asset defense and made use of the veteran skill (1.5X experience when paired up) to get lots of defense
Not to mention that he probably used a Dracoshield.
+Blue Fire It's very unlikely to get a Dracoshield only 4 chapters in the game, considering the lack of Wonder Tiles...
What are there, 8?
I guess that there are the shops, but, y'know, the lack of gold sometimes makes that hard.
+The Ultimate Revenant You can't get Dracoshields from event tiles, though you could get a rift door but that has a low chance of summoning a merchant with a Dracoshield. If the person who made this video used a Dracoshield, it was probably one from Renown, he could've (But I don't think he did) used the naga's tear as well.
Patience plus+ During enemy turns, the defender has perfect hit/avoid.
(and people say that Galeforce is broken)
Spotpass and Streetpass battles are the only ones with nerfed EXP and Weapon EXP gain.
Look at the Prologue to Chapter 2 Lunatic+ Guide.
Couldn't you also do a bunch of Double Duels for items? I know not everyone has access to 2 games and systems, but the option is still there.
Hey, I wanna play Awakening again but ambush spawns are bullshit and normal is too easy. Anybody got ideas of some sort of fan made Awakening ranked run akin to that of fe 7?
It is...indeed....IMPRACTICAL...period.
I'm currently doing Lunatic+ with no DLC and oh boy, it's another nightmare...:P
And if you don't have a unit with high defense?
Will this work with Frederick/Kellam?
thats how I grinded on hard until chap 12 (as thats when I acquired currency to get the DLC
This is all applicable to Lunatic not plus right?
Can anyone tell me what song plays at 9:50? It's catchy.
Festival lf the hunt, ffIX ost, nobuo uemastsu
Those second and last songs. Are they from Final Fantasy 9?
Yes. Vamo' alla Flamenco and Hunter's Chance.
That FF9 music (2:40) hit me like a ton of bricks.
Never played the latter. Didn't say anything as to the quality of FF9, but your comment is well taken. All I'm saying is that the music that came on definitely had an impact. Perhaps for you it's more akin to a bowel movement owing to the memories you seem to have of the game but... (Patently overlong comment on YT that demonstrates user's naivety eh)
Karlos B. Well, really, I already banned him from the channel. I understand people's dislike for things, but I don't need any of that "I'm going to just walk in the door and let you all know how crappy the game you like is. You should feel bad." crap. Too bad if he replies to this thread on google+ you can still see it. It's just not visible on the actual video. Google+ sucks with comment moderation now.
Sure. I just know the type of comment, so I figured that a response that wasn't overly defensive or anything worked best.
Haven't listened to enough of them to say. But I have enjoyed a lot of what I have heard.
I've played all of FE9 and never heard that song. When does it play?
Is it weird when i say that this looks bizzarely fun? Already done the 5 chapters on L+ like 3-5 times and this would be a weird refresher. Plus, itd help my renown a lot to rise from 4500
Nah not at all! Personally I find it super gratifying and strangely enjoyable, like getting the goron sword in ocarina of time
whats the song at 3:42
No no, Patience+ is just the effects of ALL the Breaker skills while the enemy is attacking (hit/avoid +50). That's not that bad, because even with axebreaker working against you, you might might still have a high hit rate (around 80%), even on Priam (you, with an axe, attacking Priam in Paralogue 23). Patience Plus+ increases hit/avoid by 200, but only active during the enemy's turn.
So, do you still get weapon exp. on Lunatic when doing DLC maps?
You could, yes.
I have a (Late) question, sorry if it is already been anwsered. If you max out a MU on safefile 1, give it the supreme emblem, and other goodies. get the supreme emblem in safefile 2. use it to recruit the MU, get the supreme emblem, and get so an army of OP Mu's? Is this possible? or do only weopons carry over.
+Gijs de Jongh Never mind, just tested it. items won't carry over
+Gijs de Jongh But renown does if you beat the game.
Gijs de Jongh no nothing carries over through avatar logbook
Isn't it easier just to beat chap 3 buy max mu from logbook and crush chap. 4 then grind on that exp map / CoY1
yes but that would be dlc
that beautiful ff9 music though.
this would help alot if i could get passed chapter 3 :D
Water Trick?
Feed them every kill you can get with that veteran skill. The first thing to do is do that water trick in the prologue. That is *CRUCIAL*.
Clearly Rey's mouse is helping those skirmish enemies hax.
Hello, Shadow! Hate to be "that guy" but, when's the next episode of the LP coming? Just wondering. Your exploits are full of REYvelry that just makes my day.
Right now, I'm at 23650 renown, and have not done a single double duel.
Vamo'alla Flamenco from Final Fantasy IX
oh woops thought he was talking about vanilla lunatic
not really, it is possible if your mu has high enough defennse
very nice FF9 music
How do you get that battle music?
You don't, he edited them in.
Also, by patience do you mean the Mercenary skill? Don't know how to get maximum version, can you show me?
That is all.
question, would you consider Hard mode without grinding to be (somewhat at the very least) a challenge? I got to chapter 7 (without loosing anyone) and just couldn't take the resets anymore... so I DLC grinded Champions of yore 1...
qazentro4444 What I did was recruit spotpass Celica, make her a sorcerer, equip her with a bunch of Nosferatu weapons, and use her for everything. Nosferatu is great. If you have high accuracy and high magic, you're good to go. That said, my method is lazy. Try the exponential growth dlc if you have been using using dlc. I consider classic hard mode to be a bit of a challenge, so I agree with you.
EvilCarrotSauce well, thanks! =)
you kidding?
I beat hard mode without dlc, levels from risen and paralouges buffed my untils till the last level became a breeze, I didn't even throw all money into reeking boxes!
prologue for lunatic+ is basically impossible tho.
dialsforstupid without losing anyone?
I recently beat lunatic. It took about a month but I was so excited when it finally happened. It was mostly luck. Here's another good tactic, a Vaike-fathered Nah with Strength+2 after staying in wyvern rider for a little while. Max her out, equip her with a dragonstone+, and pair her with another manakete. Like I said though, I take the easy way out.
I know, I was attempting to make a Fire Emblem joke. Thanks for the info though.
Why is having limit breaker bad for this setup?
It's not "bad"... it's just that the claim is "you can grind without DLC" isn't valid if I'm using LImit Breaker.
shadowofchaos725
Oh, I see. Sorry, I don't have the game yet, so my knowledge of such things isn't up to snuff.
Well, I think I'm going to try without grinding, well specifically with that....... method.......
Vamo alla flamenco!
I'm scared to try lunatic (>_
I started playing on Hard-Classic about 2 weeks ago and the first 4 chapters felt like I was grinding my face to a pulp with a nail file... but after that it's gotten much better lol I'm currently on Ch. 20... 35 hours later :P
Joe Ramirez Yeah, I also started playing Hard-Classic (like three days ago) and I'm now on chapter 7, and you *really* have to think. Messing up once can (and will) result in the death of a character. It took me almost 10 tries to get to the village in paralogue 2 without it being destroyed... and I'm trying to get through without using any "Wireless" features or DLC... I don't know if I'll be able to make it.
Hard Classic seemed like the perfect difficulty for me. Tried Lunatic for a bit and just gave up at Ch. 2. Was way too hard and wasn't fun always resetting.
SirBlackMage If you really want to beat hard/classic, then just throw feMU/chrom in the middle and let her destroy everyone. Later on, you'll get two broken units to add in. If you just cut through the cutscenes/battles then you can finish the game in a few hours. Though, I wouldn't do this because it is VERY boring.
So Robin's face made of steel or some shit? dam lol! now that tacitcs! xd
This sure does take a lot of patience...
But as my waifu, Maribelle, would say: "Anything to set myself apart from the rabble."
Hi, shadowofchaos it's me again...With a few things to ask and say. First of all...MY FREAKIN NIECE...She wanted to become a maxed out in every stat including movement with limit breaker and extremely incredible skills Falcon Knight Asset:Strength Flaw:(I think) Magic...So I did that and updated her with boots in a seperate file XD After obtaining her in that file I freaking galeforced my way to Fort Steiger. Talk about op... Also I'm kind of stumped on how to get Lissa to actually be powerful. I need some skills to use with her Here's a little chart to fill out
Renewal
Galeforce
Limit Breaker
_________
_________
Fill in the blanks please. Keep in mind her class lines are
-Cleric
-Trobadour
-Pegasus Knight
I use Liz/Lissa as a support unit, so my suggestions wouldn't really be very useful. Not to mention I don't min-max >_
Hmmm yeah...Dual Support + Bonds or Dual Support + Rally Heart/Love cry. Wiki says she's a great rally unit.
Bonds isn't really that good in lategame... it's "okay"...
So I'd go with the Rally instead.
If you want Lissa to a powerful unit, and play a frontlines role. I suggest filling those last two skills slots with Tomefaire and Lancefaire. These skills combined would make her an excellent Dark Flier as her final class. Just be mindful of bows of course.
replacing one of those fair skills with Iote's shield perhaps?
Must...get...flex..
Oh well, haha. As we all know, it's hard to tell a joke if it's on the internet. Well, in my opinion. XP
Luna+ laughs at your defense/resistance.
Why are you using the Japanese version?
Zero Ace Because the ENTIRE point of this tutorial is to show of how to accomplish the task. My logbook on the English version is pure crap because I never used it. Which kills the point of the tutorial when I can't show how to farm gold without DLC because of the lack of capable logbook units.
I know that it's extremely old now but if you update the bonus box now you'll get every single bonus.
There's also the issue of my English copy not having suitable MU's for the task.
shadowofchaos725 You also could just make one...
MaximumFunGaming
And grind for hours? Hell no.
Lol MOUSE. What are you doing on the screen?
I got through lunatic mode without doing this. up to chapter 4 was ok but at that point I had to start making sacrifices. Unequipped everything and had someone run in while I cleaned up the ones that could be handled. Lost 8 people by chapter 9. Stahl, fredrick, vaike, sully, the bow guy, gaius, gregor, mirabelle and most regrettably cordelia(Just could not restart, was too close to end ;_;). At that point money ceased to be a problem as I master sealed my mc into a hero. Picked luck as my strength (warning! Makes for an even more retardedly difficult early game as you pretty much have no strength) so with that sword that drops small bullion I went out to collect. While collecting I had my mc form a rank sup with everyon I had left then used the surplus cash to amp their weapons to the max. With the A rank sup it was still difficult but possible to level them. Also had a couple others who weren't class uped but on there second class when I promoted my mc so they helped with the training too. Good rule of thump when sacrificing, if the character has a good movement then they can stall for an extra turn if you do it right. that's about it, pretty much everything 2 shots you if it doesn't one shot you so an extra turn is really all you can ask for.
Oh, forgot to add something. When maxing out the weapons focus on crit and then damage. This will not work if you cannot occasionally one shot something. When it crits hit chance doesn't matter. seems dumb but it works a lot better than damage and hit chance.
Ah Lunatic.. . -.-
With how “veterans” talk about awakening on forums and Reddit, you’d be led to believe they’re all playing lunatic+ classic without grinding at all and beating it underleveled multiple times like it’s easy mode 🙄🙄
People have beaten Lunatic with 0% growth
That's the joke. I knew what he meant, I was trying to make a Fire Emblem joke.
Thanks for the info though.
Whoa. But not so amazing where you think about the insane grinding.
Lunatic+ really does force you to be a desperate person living off scraps XD. Doing a no DLC run of Lunatic+ is just too much for me, though.
i don't get it
KesterStudios
Basically, you get your gold and items from event tiles to sell stuff. For the exp, you find a good grinding spot, use an overleveled Avatar (Or any other applicable unit) with High Def but shit avoid to break the enemies' weapons on his face. Once all the enemies have invisible air as weapons (That is to say, they're as durable as melted butter), you get your other guys to swoop in and kick their asses, safe in the knowledge that the enemy can't attack at all.
Rinse and repeat. Several times over. For a very long time.
God have mercy on your soul.
ES21007 Kek, the Ylissean army and Shepards are such bullies with this method XD. But hey, Lunatic+ does give the normal enemies OPs skills so I guess it's justified. Better to pick on the enemy when they can't fight back to gain "experience" than to get sent to hell and back via anal wreckage early on.
You have to give Awakening credit for giving players an EXTREME challenge. Unlike Pokémon and it's intense hand holding nowadays.
You mean an RNG challenge?
This mode is more of RNG begging mode than an actual challenge.
Aleast fates on conquest lunatic did it right.
@@sonicthehedge Right
Well, this is Lunatic PLUS, so...
TL:DW
Less effort to earn the IRL money to buy the DLC, IMO.
I have all the DLC. 3 times over.
Like, buying all the Japanese DLC is twice as expensive as the game itself since no packs. And I have two of those 3DSs.
I'm not being cheap. I'm just teaching people who literally can't afford it, or just want to screw around in Chapter 4 with Luna+ "Marth" like I did.
I know that, bro.
(about to buy a second round of the DLC on a second DS coming in soon lol)
Imagine not getting the DLC for free using Luma3ds
F this.... i think i am going to be a cheater and use my Powersaves 3ds! Inf Ragnell and enemy only skills here i cooome!
Not that kind of "Patience." xD "Patience" as in can you wait long enough to stay in one battle for a VERY long time and doing the same thing over and over and over again and not go completely crazy over the fact that it's taking too long.
This is cursed
wow, lunatic sucks xD(i have all dlcs,but....nah xD not in my life :'D at least not this year xD)
LPFan meanwhile playing Lunatic+ on classic
lol
Patience+ OP pls nerf. Or give it to us, then it is not OP.
Kill spotpass teams. Or get lots of gold and keep hiring them 10 at a time, overwriting their old versions.
