Amazing vid from an amazing studio! It's a great insight as to how they made some things work in this version on the technical side. Bluepoint is definitely a studio I'll be gearing my portfolio towards.
feels like this video was made just for me. i have been so curious how they made this work, because it was obvious from playing that the mechanics were the original code, but somehow smoother, while the renderer was brand new. amazing work, thank you for sharing!
I remember being really pissed off at those saying “a remake. Yeah right”, when clearly they’ve shown how much effort was put into this. As much as I would love the cut colossi or ability to explore deleted areas (the dam especially), I’m glad they didn’t change too much from the original title. Still, I’ll never not be a little bummed out with how it would be such a good opportunity for those cut areas/colossi. Even if it was a cash grab DLC, I’d be willing to pay any amount, all because I love this game more than any other.
One of the best game i have ever played, played it on ps3 in 2017 and even then i liked that. Its meditative, slowly and i hope that one day i will play the game on ps4 or ps5 with remastered environment. This game is a truly masterpiece
At 16:38 Peter said he wants to be able to look back on the game after a year & be able to say that he did his absolute best work. Well it's now been almost 7 years since the release of the remake. Visually speaking it still looks awesome & can easily hold a candle to many PS5 games. That doesn't mean it can't be improved even more should we be lucky enough to get a 20th Anniversary Edition next year. But for what we have currently, Bluepoint Games & all involved can continue to be very proud of what they achieved.
@@JoaoPedro-ni6jk I was but not in the way I imaged they'd do it. I thought they'd remake it faithfully like they did SotC but from the first trailer we see that the're taking a very different approach with this one. It's not only a remake but also a reimagining. They're making a lot of unnecessary changes to the art style and designs, making them more generic. I thought they new that doing something like this is hurtful to the original vision since their SotC remake didn't do anything like this. Now I'm disappointed and I don't understand this decision. The Demon's Soul Remake probably won't be bad but it will be less magical and consistent then the original.

It's an amazing remake, very faithful, awesome work! They toned down a little bit too much overexposition, which is done on purpose on the original SOTC (light and darkness are prominent themes), for the sake of colorfulness, or color saturation, and technical correctness, though... Also, Wander's face is more badass and handsome in the original.
I love this game! Because I love being the villain! A guy that walks around and kills beautiful and unique creatures, that so far, we know nothing about. A shadow told him he would have to do some sacrifices. Only the truth... And he is the villain. He will do anything to get what he want. He want his love back. This and the Spyro Reignited Trilogy are probably the best remakes/remasters out there. Here's hoping these guys are remaking Demon's Souls - they're the best at this stuff after all.
The only thing bothering me is that Wander's face degradation throughout the game was reduced to almost zero (I only noticed vessels turning black on his neck and collarbones) This is quite ironic, considering how much you are talking about preserving details that we all loved in the original game. Also, some say Wander's face sort of looks stupid, but I personally think it's gorgeous (maybe even a bit too gorgeous for a man in his situation). Thank you for your awesome work, playing SotC on the PJ screen (even though it's a 720p PJ) was the experience of a lifetime.

They dont really do a whole lot on the audio side of things from what i can tell, and imo really good audio is the next big advancement we need for video games. But thats kinda besides the point Mel b i heard theyre currently remaking either ICO or Demon's Souls? At least those are the most popular rumors right now. As much as I want that to happen, it likely never will sadly. If only Ueda was at the helm, as he once said that he’d considered taking the time to add the cut content if the game were to be remade. I thought it was pretty crazy bluepoint was actually under a strict contract not to add any new content, aside from Dormin’s sword and other Easter eggs. Even if we didn’t get the cut colossi, it would’ve been super dope if we could explore the areas that were actually cut out from the game. Even if there wasn’t a lot of detail, that’s where creative freedom would be handy. I’d probably break down into tears had they allowed the player to go off and explore the dam alone. Still, I’m grateful for the remake, but I’ll still be slightly bummed probably for the rest of my life with that missed opportunity. I can’t blame them about the colossi though. Just to make up a bullshit arena nowhere in the game would’ve been a chore, on top of making these colossi and having to add different animations/sounds
I liked it, but I didn’t understand why the voices for the colossi were changed to all be the same. Other than that great job!! I know you can’t please everyone

I feel bad about my sentiments towards the artstyle of Bluepoint's Wander. SotC remake truly is this masterpiece worthy.
I liked it, but I didn’t understand why the voices for the colossi were changed to all be the same. Other than that great job!! I know you can’t please everyone
