i’ve always thought the timemasters were really neat just pricy i’m 14 and cut many lawns throughout the season and plan on expanding soon ive been looking into one though haha it would be so handy to have. lawn care is so fun and i’m lucky my parents have let me take over out yard and let me do others.
Our little loved ones of the family make such a huge impact in our lives. Take every minute with them like its the last, for one day you will say to yourself I wish I would have spent more time.....
We used to have to starve Poa Varities for water during the hot summer to diminish the stands. Another thing we would do was whenever we went from one field of sod to another was to brush the mowers clean to prevent contamination from one field to another. Cheers Ryan.
Always enjoy your in depth videos and your attempt to be funny I just bought a house in NJ and looking forward to putting everything I learned to good use, I especially enjoyed your sprinkler install video.
Would definitely like to see a video on how you handle the brown grass layer underneath that you spoke of briefly. I originally thought I had a thatch issue, but after I dug I believe it is more along the lines of that what you discussed here in the beginning. Look forward to hearing more!
I used Scott’s triple action at the exact wrong time and the Poa loved it took over EVERYTHING. It actually looked pretty good in March (I live in the south). My neighbors were telling me how great my lawn looked. I told them just you wait until the temperature starts getting hotter. Needless to say I’ll be reseeding my whole front yard pretty soon and making sure I use some pre-emergent this year.
We are seeing the same issues here regarding growth and green-up here in MN. It has been, and is forecast to remain, dry. I have already started irrigation as well, but I think because everything melted and stayed dry, it is an uphill climb. As a result, I am seeing more spring weeds in weak areas than in previous years. Hopefully more water and fert will push the growth back to normal!
I've seen the same here in Ohio. Usually by this time of year, I can barely keep up with the growth of my lawn. This year, a weekly mowing has been fine.
Hey Ryan, love your videos, but I have a small recommendation for you. In a few shots there's stuff laying against the side of your house, wood pallets, ect. I would recommend that your foundation to the siding be clear and free of debri the reason is termites can use the cover to their advantage and tube up and into your house because they are covered by the elements. It doesn't take long for them to make tunnel tubes. I use to be an exterminator (pest control tech) and I always, if anything, told homeowners to never put stuff up against their houses foundation/siding line. This includes trash, debri, MULCH is a no no...against siding....its okay if you leave 6" below the siding with mulch as long as you can periodically inspect for termites. Just a thought, love your channel man, stay true and enjoy that mow!
on second thought that's your neighbors house. I do apologize! They are inviting termites right in stacking things against their foundation like that @ 12:43.
That neighbor should start selling dandelion seed. I bet that drives you nuts. I thought the clumping fescue in my neighbors lawn was frustrating but wow!
I feel for Ryan, who, as a homeowner, really knows how to take care of his yard. His neighbor seems to use his driveway and side of garage as a place to store all manner of "stuff". But hey, the neighbor may be a nice family, so what do I know.
If only you could get your neighbors to do the same treatments on the lawn to get rid of all those weeds.....holy shit. I just did a 3-in-1 to my yard just to test it out last week, seemed to work so far. I have also started a new thing with mowing, where I skip every other lane, and 2 days later do them. It has this perpetual look of rows without using a roller, and I do a lot less work in one go because I'm only mowing half the lawn at a time (which is much better on my back). It's actually pretty cool looking, in my opinion.
We've had a lot of rainfall here in VA, where I'll sneak a quick mow between weather patterns. Enjoyed the sights and sounds of Spring segment. Piano background was a great fit and soothing to the senses. Whatever you do, don't burn out trying to grow your lawn channel. I'm sure it can feel like a vicious cycle at times.~mike
Please do a video on the brown in the yard. I am battling this issue right now, even after a November dethatch and re-dethatch earlier this spring, and I want it gone so the grass will grow back again.
I’m happy to take the time master off your hands! I live in central Indiana and can drive up if you decide to sell or do a giveaway. I’d love to pick your brain about lawn care as well!
Just a comment on the one-man operation and getting behind. I ordered a lawn leveler the night of the 29th and got it on the 6th. One week turnaround is pretty darn good. Gonna till up some my yard just so I can use it.
Same time line up here in central Minnesota. Spots look great others are missing color. Seeing a lot of uneven growth. I did stripe it today and it looks good from certain angles but lots of winter kill left yet. Congrats to the winners....wishing one was me!!
Our grass is growing nicely here in the UK, But I noticed that whilst it’s already very much green spring here , the leaves are just starting to grow back in the Northern US like NY based on videos I’ve seen .
I started watching your video's this past December. I learned alot about what not to do to my lawn. My lawn over the past few years has looked less than desirable, primarily because of of my kids and the neighborhood kids playing on it everyday. I been following your recommendations and care guide, and this spring my yard already looks a 100% better. Thanks
Same here with my bermuda with the same inconsistent with water and color as well. It's been warm, hot then cool. But my rye and tall fescue is doing well in the back yard.
Another great video I enjoyed a lot. Great to see things picking. As usual your lawn looks amazing and is great to see that beat up forget part of the lawn that reminds us that you are human and that there's hope for us mortals.👍🏽
Also, Westiiiiiiiiieeeeeee!!! FYI, I’ve been purposely mowing shorter than usual to thicken to the lawn before consistent growth boots up this year. So far, this has been a good call!
I think you only had 10-20 thousand subs when I first started watching your videos. It's awesome to see you're over 100k! Keep up the great content brother! 👏👏👏
Cool video! I just noticed those seed heads on the cool season grass I have in my yard. Do those seeds actually contribute to the spreading of the lawn? Dear God the dandelions in your neighbor's yard! I thought my yard looked bad. Lol
I was finally able to get some grass seed down yesterday and just in time too. The rain season here in Virginia is vastly different here than in the north where I was raised.
No offense but I am glad to hear your grass is growing uneven because mine is also we just got a ton of rain and is finally starting to even out I am in South suburbs of Chicago so we are having similar weather great video
Of course you need your Timemaster if just for cleaning up what you’re about to do with your scarifier. I mow with a manual reel mower myself every two or three days but once a month I rake my lawn entire to clean out all of the dead grass for the same reason that you do and after I vacuum it up with my Toro Recycler. Aside from your yard and grass area being much larger than mine the deep down vacuuming ability of the Timemaster in comparison to everything else is akin to comparing the deep down cleaning abilities of a Kirby vacuum to a cordless stickvac. You’d regret selling your Timemaster.
Ryan, Did you paint your time master black or did it come that way? Wheels also don’t look stock....? Thanks in advance for taking the time to answer my question.
Even for us up here in Washington state. Besides last weekend we haven’t got hardly any rain. Having some color issues with my perennial rye. Keep up the great work Ryan!Thank you for all of the content
It’s hardly rained here in the uk this spring which is weird compared to normal, the gras as not grown as much as normal too. Wonder if it to do with the lockdowns world wide and it’s made a massive impact on the climate.
Noooooo.....I'm bummed now. I got Midnight going and was hoping for a deep dark green. Pete from GCI got good color from his KBG project last year. Oh well....just have to wait and see how it turns out.
Ryan, do you have any videos or advice on grub control? I have a issue with a small spot in a very small yard that is problematic, but to go out and buy a $25 bag of product that covers 5,000 sq/ft to get rid of them in a yard that is about 150 sq/ft is rather cost ineffective. Beyond that, if I have to part with the money, I will, but what is the best product that will give me the best result?
I've been considering a Timemaster for a few weeks. I have live on just under ½ an acre and the JD ride-on tractor mower that I inherited from my house's previous owners is on its last leg. Not sure I want to spend the $$$ on a new tractor, so a 30-inch deck would be the next best thing. How has your Timemaster worked out for you? Would you recommend it? Any advice for a novice lawn care guy?
Exactly.. same here in Minnesota, i dont see any growth ,slow n low. Was wondering if i did amything wrong. Did put down my fertilizer last week and started watering since lastweek .
The slight brown layer you talked about having (sans thatch) I am having a similar issue. I did discover a couple days ago a grub. Where this is one there is more. So i am going to try and treat with Scotts "Grub B gon". My question is two parts. I would liek to see how you are dealing with you current issue at the (3:15) minute mark, and secondly your thoughts on using the Scotts Grub B gon. Coming to you from South Okanagan BC Canada
Hey Ryan Huge Fan. I recently seeded and utilized the Lesco starter fertilizer and slightly burnt my lawn. Will my not sprout from the burn? or does the burn just affect the established lawn? Thanks!
I have 2 tree stumps in my lawn I am getting ground down to about 6 inches below the surface. Do you think its best the cover the stump with any wood chips or should i cover it with top soil?
Okay where did you get a black toro time master ?? I’ve only seen red ones . I’m planning to get one but since I saw yours I’m wanting that color scheme !
Hello sir good day to you. I hope that u can find my comment here. Ive been watching your lawn care and renovation and im a really big fun of yours. its my first time having a back yard and doing lawn care sir. I have most of the tools i needed for the lawn except for the peat moss spreader that i seen in your overseeding from last year. Im really struggling so much right now and im so amazed with that peatmoss spreader. When i look at the amazon to try ordering it im so surprise with how much it cost. I know this is not proper to ask for this help from you sir but im really praying and hoping that u can help me get one for me. I just cant afford to have one and im hoping that you could help me sir. Thank you and have a bless day.🙏
Man this is weird. The pst couple years, when one of us has some strange cool season grass issue, we all do.. my growth so far this year hasn’t popped the way it usually does and I’ve got some inconsistent colors also but I’m pretty sure mine is due to soil health.
I have a question about weed and feed. I applied it about a week ago using the scotts week and weed in my spreader. Have not seen anything die yet. I was thinking about applying a liquid weed killer to the entire lawn. Should I not do that? Should I wait?
hey ryan, would love to see u trying the fiskars push reel mower, perhaps the only mower that can cut the grass at the height of 3-4 inches - good height for the summer and good cut from the reel?
My color isn't consistent either it warms up and gets darker green then it gets cold again I'm hoping I killed off all the creeping wild bent grass I didn't do a monostand 2 of the 3 midnight and blue note take awhile to come out of dormancy. We need to have a minimum of 60 at night for the grass to take off and we haven't had that yet. If the Milo doesn't make it super dark I will be hitting it with iron and I hope to buy some of your liquids to baby the front which is only about 1500 to 2000 square feet roughly . The front is fed well it gets 1 bag of Milo each time I feed it
I just started a reno in my super bare backyard where my dogs run around, between them wanting to dig and crappy Temps we got, I'm not too optimistic on it, my dogs wanna kill the sprinkler every time I go to water the grass :(

I just wanted to share this with you. I bought this Manuel aerator off Ebay and it works fantastic !! rollaerator.com/
I think your neighbors on the KBG test plot side need a few more dandelions in their yard, would really pull the look together.
Perfect comment! Funny.
If the neighbor is growing dandelions as a crop then it’s going to be a good year.
Seriously. It’s gotta be a stressful time when the wind blows.
Looks like my neighbors. My wife will go pluck some of theirs so they dont drift over into our yard lmao!
Business in the front, party in the back! Let's see Ryan with a mullet this summer.
No worries Ryan. I can imagine how busy you can be! We all enjoy the videos and information as you can provide.
Keep up the great work. 👍
i’ve always thought the timemasters were really neat just pricy i’m 14 and cut many lawns throughout the season and plan on expanding soon ive been looking into one though haha it would be so handy to have. lawn care is so fun and i’m lucky my parents have let me take over out yard and let me do others.
Very much enjoyed the “sights and sounds”. Lawn is coming along.

You totally should rock the mullet! Finally received rain here in Plymouth County, really greened up the lawn.
Would definitely like to see a video on how you handle the brown grass layer underneath that you spoke of briefly. I originally thought I had a thatch issue, but after I dug I believe it is more along the lines of that what you discussed here in the beginning. Look forward to hearing more!

Im so glad your still using your time master .
I am glad that I am not the only one noticing the weird things in the yard this spring. Same things are happening here.
Really strange bro. I've had the same issues in Michigan, waiting for that big pop of growth. Looks like it's taking a bit longer.
I've seen the same here in Ohio. Usually by this time of year, I can barely keep up with the growth of my lawn. This year, a weekly mowing has been fine.
Loved the pics showing the difference between poas and kbg. More of that for other weeds too, please.
Hey Ryan, love your videos, but I have a small recommendation for you. In a few shots there's stuff laying against the side of your house, wood pallets, ect. Love to see your channel/business continuing to evolve positively. Wishing you continued success. P.S. the “flow” aka hockey hair is on point!
The flow is real right now
Please do a video on the brown in the yard. I am battling this issue right now, even after a November dethatch and re-dethatch earlier this spring, and I want it gone so the grass will grow back again.

Another great update video! Amazing work like always. I think you helped me decide on which KBG seed to go with :)
It's DARK
Yes Ryan.........We need Rain! Only about 2 hrs east of you in Wisconsin. Only had a couple of small rain showers here so far this spring
Another great video I enjoyed a lot. Great to see things picking. As usual your lawn looks amazing and is great to see that beat up forget part of the lawn that reminds us that you are human and that there's hope for us mortals.👍🏽
My grass really just started to take off in the last week now. It came out of the gates strong and then stumbled big time
Yeah weird weather
Having the same weird spring growth here north of Chicago. Thought it was just me. Glad to hear I didn't f something up.
Same here in the west burbs
I’m glad to see my lawn isn’t the only inconsistent one
Also, Westiiiiiiiiieeeeeee!!!
FYI, I’ve been purposely mowing shorter than usual to thicken to the lawn before consistent growth boots up this year. So far, this has been a good call!
Everything is coming together and looking good.
I think you only had 10-20 thousand subs when I first started watching your videos. It's awesome to see you're over 100k! Keep up the great content brother! 👏👏👏
Holy crap! your neighbor is trying to be the lawn care antithesis of you with that field of dandelions in the backyard!
I was hoping to hear a roaring V8 during sights and sounds.
Always love your production. Kudos!
Thanks!
Cool video! I just noticed those seed heads on the cool season grass I have in my yard. Do those seeds actually contribute to the spreading of the lawn? Dear God the dandelions in your neighbor's yard! I thought my yard looked bad. Lol
Unfortunately no. The seed heads would have to mature on the plant for months.
Gotcha! That's not going to happen then. Got a new push mower and have been cutting more often than usual. Lol! Thanks for the response 👍
Awesome video. One day I will win something from your giveaways lol. Enjoyed the sounds of spring!
I have to go check that company out. Great video, Ryan. Grass is looking great.
I was finally able to get some grass seed down yesterday and just in time too. The rain season here in Virginia is vastly different here than in the north where I was raised.
Im virginia also and actually feel like we didnt get the april showers like normal..grass is still performing but some spots got me head scratching..
No offense but I am glad to hear your grass is growing uneven because mine is also we just got a ton of rain and is finally starting to even out I am in South suburbs of Chicago so we are having similar weather great video
Nice video man! Lawn looks awesome as always!
I like to power rake my lawn a couple of times a year. Not a full scarify, but on its high setting just to pick up some of the blades.
There it is. A sighting of the Timemaster Stealth.
It's been hanging around just so stealthy that it's hard to spot
Ground starting to crack from being too dry..up the road in waukee. Almost watered but the much needed rain is liquid gold.
Dude your opening music is so awesome
Of course you need your Timemaster if just for cleaning up what you’re about to do with your scarifier. Ryan,
Did you paint your time master black or did it come that way? Wheels also don’t look stock....?
Thanks in advance for taking the time to answer my question.
Looking forward to more updates on the Mazama and Midnight KBG
In Colorado things just got going a bit. Still a bit slow and no rain, hopefully we get it going.
Even for us up here in Washington state. Besides last weekend we haven’t got hardly any rain. Having some color issues with my perennial rye. Keep up the great work Ryan!Thank you for all of the content
Great video Ryan ! Was that the Rye grass going to seed, I have the same stuff all over my yard. Is that common the fallowing year after an over seed?
No that was kbg and fescue and will happen to all of year after year...just a part of the process of the plant
You should pick up a Milwaukee M12 ratchet for changing out all reel decks and other maintenance. It’s a life changer
Great videos and wish I got one of those reel mowers from the contest. Could never afford one, lol. Keep up the great work.
I’m a 17 year old kid in Cedar Rapids that loves mowing lawns and will take it off your hands if you want it gone!👊
In Marion here!
I’ll be happy with the Honda
Wow the timemaster looks pretty though in black. I think you gave me an idea for mine.
It’s hardly rained here in the uk this spring which is weird compared to normal, the gras as not grown as much as normal too. Wonder if it to do with the lockdowns world wide and it’s made a massive impact on the climate.
Thank you again for the KBG update!!
Glad to see my kbg reno from last year isn't the only one taking forever to do it's thing. I was starting to get a little sad. Lol
That stuff tests my patience like no other
That black timemaster looks so dope
We've hardly had any rain too in England.
Don’t jinx it
Noooooo.....I'm bummed now.
Lawn looks great. Are you going to get hit by the cold temps this week? It’s crazy for May.
45 right now and we will likely get frost again
Ryan Knorr Lawn Care us too. Waiting to plant the flowers. It’s crazy, more like March instead of May!
Keep that Timemaster Ryan. I use it to cut my Texas Bermuda grass lawn at 1.75 inches and the lawn looks great!!
I know this is the wrong video for my question, but...I bought both humic acid granular, and sea kelp liquid. Which do I use first on my yard?
still waiting for a Ryobi/Ego class battery reel mower, that mazama looks great!
Hello from DSM,IA. Enjoying your channel.
How do we know which herbicides need a surfactant? Or would benefit from a surfactant? Will it specifically say on the label?
Usually it will state if you should not use one...
Great work as always. Thanks for all the hard work. god bless and stay safe
Awesome “sights and sounds” segment!
Ryan do you have any videos on how to get rid of moss?
Exactly.. same here in Minnesota, i dont see any growth ,slow n low. Was wondering if i did amything wrong. Did put down my fertilizer last week and started watering since lastweek .
Bout an hour north of the Twin Cities I've only mowed twice so far.
I love how nieghbors have set up the dandelion challenge on the north side...yikes. I'd be mowing that for them like it or not
First Aussie 😁. Another smooth video Ryan. 😎👍👍
Hey Ryan Huge Fan. I recently seeded and utilized the Lesco starter fertilizer and slightly burnt my lawn. Will my not sprout from the burn? or does the burn just affect the established lawn? Thanks!
If it's not germinated yet then it shouldn't hurt that...I don't have specific experience with that issue but seems logical
I have 2 tree stumps in my lawn I am getting ground down to about 6 inches below the surface. Do you think its best the cover the stump with any wood chips or should i cover it with top soil?
Come on up to PA, the grass is growing so fast I had to mow three times this week or else it looked shaggy and nasty.
Okay where did you get a black toro time master ?? I’ve only seen red ones . I’m planning to get one but since I saw yours I’m wanting that color scheme !
Painted it...I have a video on it from early spring
Hello sir good day to you. I hope that u can find my comment here. Ive been watching your lawn care and renovation and im a really big fun of yours. its my first time having a back yard and doing lawn care sir. I have most of the tools i needed for the lawn except for the peat moss spreader that i seen in your overseeding from last year. I know this is not proper to ask for this help from you sir but im really praying and hoping that u can help me get one for me. I just cant afford to have one and im hoping that you could help me sir. Thank you and have a bless day.🙏
That orange color! What is that RAL color code? Maybe I can get one as a reward for a reborn lawn.
Great flow going on Ryan 👍
Anxiously awaiting the video about removing the dead grass that is not thatch. It is really annoying me in my own yard!
Great video! Love your lawn.
hey ryan, would love to see u trying the fiskars push reel mower, perhaps the only mower that can cut the grass at the height of 3-4 inches - good height for the summer and good cut from the reel?
Looking great Ryan. How the new dog adapting?
Very good...he is awesome
@@ryanknorrlawncare that's sweet. I know adopted dogs can sometimes take a long time to adjust.
What kind of paint did you use on those wheels? I thonk you've said before. I was considering doing black but with EVH stripes 😂
The front is fed well it gets 1 bag of Milo each time I feed it
Iron is a good friend of mine :)
I just started a reno in my super bare backyard where my dogs run around, between them wanting to dig and crappy Temps we got, I'm not too optimistic on it, my dogs wanna kill the sprinkler every time I go to water the grass :(
