  • In 2017, Paddy Melville was cycling on his way to a meeting at Google.
Living in London, happily married with two young children, work going brilliantly, in demand across the world, life was good. Then Paddy unexpectedly fell off his bike. And his life changed forever. Concerned witnesses helped him to get to hospital but the true problem didn't come to light at first, it was only a couple of weeks later when his headaches got unbearable that Paddy found out the truth: he had a grade 4 brain tumour. Terminal cancer.
In Men's Cancer week, Paddy reveals in his warm, engaging way his own cancer journey. Denial, ignoring it, pretending it wasn't happening through acceptance and a tough battle over a couple of years to beat his cancer. He tells us the good news about what happened too in this video.
Paddy (known in his workplace at Patrick Melville) can be found at www.melville-solutions.com
for mental health awareness, building strong mental health. Paddy also talks about the importance of faith in his journey and his faith in God.
It's rare to hear from men who open up about their cancer stories and I'm so grateful to Paddy for sharing his amazing journey.

It's men's cancer week this week and it's so important for men to talk about and share their own cancer journeys and experiences. How do you think it is best to encourage that sharing?
