Great seeing the Super A. I got the garden bedded and planted 2 weeks ago Saturday, using the Super A and 180 belly planter. Corn is up about 4" and the beans, conk peas, baby limas, okra, etc. I remember asking my Grandmother 50 years ago why farmers bedded rows. She said, "bed it if you're expecting a wet spring, plant it flat if you're expecting dry weather." We had a really wet winter and spring so far, but when I watched Danny, from Pecan Grove, he said we're going to have another dry summer. I hope not. I bedded up about 8", but knocked them down to about 4" with a set of "buzzard wings". We can always irrigate if needed. LOL I ordered 2 shanks from Agri supply and the bearing "shields", they all came in but the "Fafnir" bearings I ordered on ebay haven't arrived. I want to set up one of the AV's with the rolling cultivators and one of the side dressers. Not sure how I'm going to set up the 140 that we just got a couple of months ago. I got the gas tank coated with Red Kote and put back on last week. It's running great now. We've got 2 AV's, a Super A, a 100, and now the 140. I want to set each one up for a different job. LOL Thanks for the link on the bearing shields again! God Bless, Ken

You could hear those disks were putting a load on that tractor! Especially at one point it looked like it was up a slight hill and as soft and deep as that dirt was!

Man there is nothing like one of these old Farmall offsets in there natural habitat. I just plowed my Jimmy Red for the second time. And broke up another place to plant about 5 rows of tobacco.

A blessed Sunday morning to you folks. That all worked out well. Looks like you might be able to use some moisture falling from the sky. Having to irrigate hard out here in the PNW, to get some moisture for planting in. Only have onions, broccoli, cabbage and peas in the ground so far.
Heading to the coast this coming week, 1st trip out in the motor home this year. Not thrilled about the price of diesel at near $5.00 per gallon. You folks have a great week. Not sure if will have WIFI out there to watch Monday night live.

I sure do wish we could have some dry ground to work here in East Texas. We're getting a 3 to 5 inch rain every time the ground drys almost enough to run a planter throw it.
I told my wife last year; I'm only praying for rain once per dry spell. I think the good Lord waited two weeks and then gave us a back to back rain day for every prayer.

I’m late commenting on purpose this time Joey. I learn from reading your viewers comments as well as your videos. I’m thrilled the “Sammy” is getting put to good usage and everyone seems supportive. Leno’s presence is always a plus IMO. A supportive wife is priceless. Sammy will eventually get over his “stage fright” and take the controls of his tractor, soon I hope. We all learn from our mistakes, or should at least. The vicarious wannabe here. Thanks for sharing.

We always used to bed all our land before planting tobacco. We never used the farmall though. We had a fertilizer distributor behind the tractor we’d use. We always go ahead and put the fertilizer in when we’d bed it as well. Daddy still does his garden that way

I put a zip tie in the outlet to keep mud daubers out of the discharge. It will still pee if you forget to remove it, but will look fuzzed up a little. It helps keep the discharge end clean but won't help the intake side through the pump.
