    It's GREAT that people can understand all this. It's rocket science to me. I can recite lots of this stuff from memory - Why you want to use aux tracks & bussing, etc. ...but actually DOING IT? Ha-ha! LOST. I just put plug-ins on each track. It's bad, I guess - but I don't record enough to understand all this stuff. It's nice that people take time to explain & try to help others - and I see that lots of people get it. Maybe I will, eventually... Have fun!

    Hi. You have a good clear and concise way of talking that makes you a good teacher. I find that many knowledgable people who make youtube tutorials for Pro Tools and other things, tire me out early because I waste a lot of energy just trying to hear what they are saying between the pauses, the umm...s and so on. Kudos to you for being well spoken, articulate and for having a good manor. ~ I am new to Pro Tools specifically and today, thanks to you, I have a nice understanding of how aux sends are created in Pro Tools, which was what I set out to learn. Thanks for taking the time to do this. I don't know what "ThePureMix" is yet. I don't know if you get paid some how, but I do thank you . I will subscribe and hopefully I can learn much about working in Pro Tools from you.

    THere's a much quicker way of creating bus and routing your tracks to it:
    Just select all your your drums for example, shift+alt click on the output and click on new track.
    It will create the bus, rename it and do all the routing in one go.

    Hey when turn down the volume on the group I still hear the reverb that I have on a specific sound. . Is that normal or is it leaking ? Do I send that aux through the group also or do I out it directly in the track inserts

  • @TSUDARGON
    @TSUDARGON 2 роки тому

    May I know if I can just select Solo on the aux to solo the whole aux bus members rather than selecting the track one by one?

  • @ImaginaryAsh
    @ImaginaryAsh 12 років тому +1

    Hi i have a question please. When you sent the snare to the reverb channel you left the output of the reverb as 1-2 rather than going back to the drums submix. So now if you change the level of the drums submix, the reverb level won't change along with it? is there a way to make the reverb level change along with the drums submix so the reverb level is consistant?

    • @fredmanteghian5913
      @fredmanteghian5913 3 роки тому

      I didn’t like that either. Why wouldn’t you want reverb on the other drums? He could have created a second send for all the drum tracks to the reverb abs at least have two send controls to balance. But preferably he could have just sent the drum group itself to the reverb. Then he could control the level to the reverb at the same time he adjusted the group level, provided he did the send Post Fader.

  • @Quantumface
    @Quantumface 12 років тому

    When we send all the tracks to a subgroup does it create a double of each sound? Because when I do this in Reaper it seems like im getting the output sound for all the original tracks plus the output sounds in the group track. Which means when i add a reverb on the sub group track i now have the original sounds come through with an additional reverbed sound on top of it. Am i doing it wrong?

  • @minihilly
    @minihilly 11 років тому

    I did mean that definition of the word 'win'; but it's definitely a noun, too (as the same meaning as 'victory'); although it's more commonly known/used as a verb.

  • @IsaacDeanMusic
    @IsaacDeanMusic 12 років тому

    It's much easier to describe them that way. Even manuals, specifications, etc use mac and pc to describe each.

  • @gauravsharma-eh7sz
    @gauravsharma-eh7sz 4 роки тому

    But when you route those via the main output of the track then it's post fader and when you compress The audio on the aux and by chance pull the faders on the individual tracks down that's going to affect the level of compression on the aux , how to over ride that ?

  • @jasonlaneband
    @jasonlaneband 10 років тому

    On the effects sends, shouldnt you enable the FMP button, I notice the main is panned which means the reverb will not follow the panned main.... ?

    one thing that I find to be very painful in Pro Tools is soloing subgroups. Do you have any quick tips to do that without having to group every channel every time you make a new subgroup, selecting the group and soloing it? It's extremely time consuming (and pointless in my opinion) compared to other DAWs...

  • @LisaMurphy

    • @sul4448

      After you create Input Bus and then 2 fingers click(Right Click on mouse), you will see so you can Rename it. Hope this will help.

  • @lunadigital2995

    Hi Ben, hope you are doing well. Can you please tell me how can I listen only to the effect inserted to an aux track? For example, if I have an aux track for the reverb (100% wet), Can I mute the source track but keep listening only to the reverb? I couldn´t find how to do it yet.
    Thanks!

    • @lunadigital2995
      @lunadigital2995 7 років тому

      Thanks for the answer. If I do that I won´t be able to listen the reberv with the pluggins applied to the source track, right? Recently I found a way that is sending the source track to a non used output (ej.: a bus not used). Thanks!

  • @RealCoolGuy

    Except "win" (I assume you are referring to "win" as in "winning" or "winner") is a verb not a noun so they would not be used in the same context. ...at all.

  • @jupiramaster

    what if I want a guitar hard panned to the left for example, and the reverb hard panned to the left as well. And then a guitar panned to the right 100%, and the reverb 100% right also. I tried sometimes but the reverb bleeds to the other side.
