Behind the seat will be premium real estate for either a tool bag or a second bottle since there’s only one place to mount a bottle inside the frame. This bike has been a long time coming and all the other big brands are already a generation ahead on their disc brake frames with tool storage / nutrition integration
Giant's stem looks like the Scott Plasma RC Pro (not TT version) but uses spacers. With the Plasma you just adjust the aero bars by sliding the bars up and down VERY easily... no spacers needed. The aerobar angle is created simply by how you attach the bars using 2 screws. I believe the max. angle is up to 20 degrees if memory is correct.
Truncated = Cut the end off the tubing (cross sectionaly) to save weight while retaining the same aero profile/saving in principle. Think a D shape vs an O shape but the aero stays the same because of clever shaping.
So you have nutrition just above the bottom bracket with refill option on the fly. Now imagine not closing it properly while racing in the rain. Free extra electrolytes straight from the road. :)
its a good looking bike yes. I wish they had either intigrated the hydrarion in the frame or the tool storage. with the f hydration on the down tube it limits the options for tool storage, and I do r like that. no the end of the world but it 10.5K so I would like it to be slighltt more optimised, like canyon, or cube
I cant say Ive ever seen one in the real world. I keep thinking to myself "self Id sure like the in bike hydration, and tool storage." In reality I have a dang fast bike, bike fit Dan has fotted me on, I have the tririg scoops ultimate arm cups, a like new set of HED 60 front 90 resr wheels and a like new force explore groupset with the Quarq power meter, that bike should loom to upgrade her rider and Im damn lucky to have it😂🌶️😂
Personally, I wish I could see more details on the downtube hydration system and how it could be refilled. That is a big part of the reason I am looking into a new bike, and would like more details given experiences some people have had with existing systems (e.g. the Canyon system). I have a hate hate relationship with my front mounted profile design aeria on my current SpeedMax.
@@TriathlonDan - I live in Wash. DC - one of the biggest triathlon communities here in the US and I doubt I will see one in person except for maybe at an Mdot event bike rack. I did some reflecting on the hydration while I was swimming and I really don't see how the hydration setup is going to be very useful if trying to reload. Maybe best if you used traditional BTA bottle after its empty like Gustav in the videos. Its a total engineering kludge by just making a hole in the downtube for the hose and routing that hose up through the headset instead of building the bladder into the frame. On the aeria - its probably the best solution. I have learned a ton about that system using it for the last two years. DM me and I can walk you through it by video chat if you want since I found out a bunch of things actually using it.
The pricing is fantastic, coming from a TT perspective (I don’t hop, skip, jump). I was expecting £4.5k+. Compare to Specialized, Colnago, Trek et al this is a bargain
Hmmm yes on reflection the 4 spoke wheels add into a lot of that cost, wonder if they'll offer a top spec with lower tier wheels. I really want to see what the £6.5k option has on it
It is nice bike. If my bike fitter has the bike than maybe... It won't be for a while due to still paying my gravel bike.. Which I use more due to my roads near me
Giant is the biggest bike manufacturer in the world. They make loads of other brands frames/bikes. They have a very very good reputation. Over the years I’ve owned about 25 different Giant bikes…
i just cannot believe the prices of these new Triathlon bikes. More expensive than My family hatchback. Triathlon is becoming too expensive .
My estate car cost me £500 3 years ago 😅🤷♂️
Great overview, thanks Dan. Argree about the tool storage. They've missed a trick here.
@@marcbarrowtri cheers! Wonder if they’ll offer anything aftermarket. I’d love to get my hands on one

Allllll this R&D time and they’ve not managed to find a hole for a tube and a co2 🤣🤷♂️

Interesting! Love that sort of thing for fast changes, the Wattshop angled adjusters allow that too

I enjoyed my trinity, apart from adjusting the brakes. Disc brakes would be a great upgrade to the pain involved in adjusting the previous ones 😂
Ah yes I’ve heard that from others too! Hopefully less faff with discs but who knows 🤣
@@TriathlonDandreaded disc brake rub lol

Hmm yes not ideal 🤣
Tool storage? Just add 16 bottles to the back of the seat like Magnus? 😂
Hahahaha and the front
best thing about this is the wheels🤣🤣🤣
Good video though Dan, just to make that clear 😥😀
Thanks 🤣
If the wheels get hooks again eventually 😂🫣
