      but how do you look up with this setup?

  • @Fusionprogamer
    @Fusionprogamer 9 місяців тому +16

    you could wrap the projectors in a matte black dbrand skin. I think they sell uncut sheets of their skins you could apply it without even demounting your projectors.

    This looks unbelievable, it must hurt a little to not be able to look up and around though im not sure how you would even begin to solve those problems............ such a cool machine you have built

    • @theshawnmccown
      @theshawnmccown 8 місяців тому +2

      Unless your dogfighting, looking up isn't really a big part of the kind of missions a player would do in an A10c. Having a VR setup for dogfights in other craft would be a must though. Use this type of setup for typical air to ground missions or long range air to air and VR for up close and personal air to air combat.

      There are screen setups that accommodate that with a full half dome but they do get prohibitively expensive, one of my friends sets them up for the typhoon training simulators.

      A VR headset with support for passthrough and real-life cutouts should work I think, something like a varjo for ultra high fidelity.

    Finally made it more like a real simulator room. I remember looking at houses to buy and this one house had a smaller room that was completely black, even the carpet. I wonder if they were using a projector or something. Or it was used for some other reason, lol.

    I plan on getting the Pimax 12K when they finally release it. But, nothing looks as fun as flipping real switches and using real controls. I have a Pimax 5K that I'm barrowing but I still prefer my triple 55" screen setup. This setup is amazing and likely beyond what I would do as far as screens setup goes. I want to build two or three cockpits as a hobby from here through retirement (which is way off). The A10c is my first project since it's my favorite cockpit. The F16 will be next. An Apache cockpit would be amazing to build but I'm not sure how that would work out and what resources are out there. But, an F-18 would likely be the final cockpit if an Apache is not doable.

So if you're every looking to go wireless again I got mine on Amazon refurbished for $150 they normally go for $270 brand new. Amazing sound quality and I get compliments on how clear and clean the mic sounds. Broadcast quality, I definitely will be streaming with it and using it for my youtube uploads as well
