Ghost and Volbeat took the stage at the Honda Center in Anaheim to wrap up their 2022 U.S. tour along with special guests Twin Temple. Fans arrived early for this one and formed lines around the Honda Center hours ahead of time. As soon as doors opened, many attendees went straight to the merchandise booths to wait in line again for some tour memorabilia.
Not only was tonight the trek’s final outing, but it was also Ghost mastermind and vocalist Tobias Forge’s birthday!
What an amazing show Papa treated the crowd on his birthday and it was amazing don’t miss it!
The anticipation reached a fever pitch as familiar choral music filled the venue, bringing the masses to the floor for another ritual.
The silhouette of a solitary Ghoul was illuminated behind the curtain as Papa Emeritus IV and the band started the set with the song “Kaisarion.”
The curtain dropped and the energy was palpable. The band played a good selection from their catalog with songs like “Rats,” “From The Pinnacle to The Pit,” “Year Zero,” “Mummy Dust,” “Cirice” and “Ritual.” Fans had the good fortune to celebrate Papa Emeritus IV’s birthday with him. During a special moment, the crowd even sang “Happy Birthday.”
Ghost played four new songs tonight, beginning with the show opener “Kaisarion.”
Other highlights included “Mary on a Cross,” “Hunter’s Moon,” and a haunting cover of Metallica’s “Enter Sandman.” Unfortunately, all good shows - and tours - must come to an end. Ghost wrapped things up with their chart-topping single “Square Hammer.” It was an incredibly entertaining night of rock and roll.
The European leg of this tour begins next month. Ghost’s new album Impera arrives next week on March 11 via Loma Vista Recordings. Be sure to check www.ghost-official.com for tour dates.

My wife and I were there!!!! Such an amazing night!! We even got invited to Tobias' afterparty bday bash upstairs behind the stage because we made shirts that said "HAPPY BIRTHDAY TOBIAS!" It was truly a Wayne's World moment, we were not worthy!

You don't see many bands anymore that can make a whole arena sing along. Bo matter the lyrics or this band's symbolism that's powerful and something lost in the 2000s they've been able to recapture peoples feeling from the 70s and 80s and im here for it man. God can forgive me later im gonna appreciate these guys while they're still kicking ass and making music powerful again.
I saw Queen in Brighton UK December 1979 and even then Freddie Mercury had the audience in the palm of his hand . He was mesmerising and Tobias reminds me of Freddie how he commands the stage and the crowd. Hell I think Freddie once said he had a hole in his shoe to the crowd once 😂
Such a shame for me... I had already heard of them but just recently I got to know their work... and I am totally addicted... can't get enough! All the songs are awesome, but "Ritual" gives me the chills! I hope one day I can see them performing in Brazil (as far as I know they came to Brazil in 2013 for the RIR, so let's hope they come back!) Ghost, what an incredible band! :)

Tobias is a modern day fricken beethoven..he composes every piece of every ghost song..i just hope he stays hunmble and focused on his goal whatever it may be wether you like this band or not GHOST and Tobias are up there with the greats just like we still jam out to 30 year old Pantera songs or 40 year old iron maiden tunes..40 years from now the hair on my neck will still stand up when i hear anything from this band...

Tobias doesn't compose everything. The first album is the only album where he wrote everything. After that Martin contributed a lot until he left. Now Tobias writes with lots of co-writers. All you have to do is go on wiki to see full co-writing credits.

@@xScooterAZx I know that, but they are not gonna just randomly credit co-writers who never worked on the songs. The fact still remains that Tobias doesn't write everything. He has a hand in every song, but he does use a lot of co-writers
The band has a loose family tree of notable writers who were likely fearful of how the band might affect their commercial ventures, but continue to come out of the woodwork. With time I believe Forge has presented himself as the conceptual editor of a remarkably complex and tech savvy ideological front that calls itself Ghost.

the amount of joy and euphoria and excitement I get just from this video makes me think i'd explode if I ever got to see them perform live like this
I was there that night. The audio on this video does not do it justice. These songs absolutely slap live. It’s night & day seeing them in person and through a bootleg. They sound absolutely amazing. Especially with the female backing vocals. Reminds me of ABBA (I’m a huge fan)

@@Idreallyrathernotthanks i saw maiden like 2006..7 and i actually fell asleep i was 3 rows from center stage,i love maiden ...big steve harris fan as a bass player myself ...very boring show though,only real highlight was a huge 15 foot tall eddy walking around on stage that i woke up for...i didnt even drink or smoke at that show

I was mainly there for Ghost. I was getting messed up during Volbeat’s set (Not the biggest fan). I showed up too late to see Twin Temple unfortunately (Sad Ghoul noises)
I'm believe Ghost has brigded a gap in my life. Mettalica and Pantera, too big or gone. Ghost worth the change to make it fun again. Keep rolling Brother's.

You should of just walked into an empty seat on the lower levels. There were plenty. My brother and I moved right behind the sound engineers because that’s the best place for sound. For some reason half of section 201 (the seats facing the stage) was empty.

I liked the tribute to Pink Floyd. It was short, sweet and to the point. The guitar duel is probably only part of the show to give Papa time to change his attire. It’s not really that special IMO. It’s simply supposed to entertain the audience until he’s ready for Cirice.

Genuinely can't wait be in their presence again!! First ever time seeing them was October 2018 at Londons Royal Albert Hall where they played a extra long set list with a interval!! Then they were my last concert before the pandemic in November 2019 in Nottingham and I'll be seeing them again on 9th April in Manchester ✌️💪

Thanks for the capture. Seems like just yesterday seeing them at Riverside Auditorium (1200 capacity). The sound in the Anaheim Arena was HORRIBLE. I miss seeing them in smaller places. I guess that’s the price of fame. Surprised they didn’t play Monstrance Clock.

Went to my third Ghost Concert last Week in Hannover. They always deliver, its the greatest Live-Band I've seen yet! You gotta go, its really worth it. The Video is quite stale in comparison! I do belive this will be a instant-classic band, that may stay relevant like the old classics, Iron Maiden, etc, and its great to be in the moment and experience it.
Still one of the most energetic bands I've ever seen in my life ⚡🙀💥

Finally a very good and refreshing band ! I have worked in this biz for a few decades and seen it all: the good bands, the bad and the Greats so when it comes to a progressive metal band live I usually just write them off as any other. BUT these guys are very very good . The theatrical aspect is a nice touch too. One question though: during 'Pinnacle to the Pit' they are all out on the thrust down center then Tobias appears annoyed and starts to motion each to get back upstage . I hope this is just part of the 'act' but not knowing the band I have to ask you long time fans what that was all about ?

One thing I don't like about LIVE videos of Ghost is that their performance doesn't quite translate when you re-watch a video. The live experience is significantly more enticing and the audience's energy is 10x more profound. Awesome footage by the way!
