  • "Pastoral Monolith" (feat. Dennis Lyxzé of Refused) from the album "Creation and the Timeless Order of Things" out November 17th via Good Fight Music. Pre-order Vinyl & Merch here goodfightmusic.com/collection...
Directed and edited by Mani Mostofi
Live footage provided by The Art Of B.
The third song from “Creation and the Timeless Order of Things” is entitled “Pastoral Monolith.” The song is about the lasting and devastating impacts of British colonialism in Nigeria. In the past few weeks, we have seen Israels attacks on Gaza which also have their historical roots in British colonialism.
The song features guest vocals from Dennis Lyxzen (Refused, Fake Names, International Noise Conspiracy), who is a longtime friend and co-conspirator of the band. The video has images and quotes from various activists and artists who have fought back against colonialism, settler colonialism, and their capitalist systems. The video itself is an homage to the (International) Noise Conspiracy’s video for “Smash It Up.”

    LYRICS
    The borders of dead empires
Dug deep into the dead earth
Like the lines scared into your face
Two days later we could still see the blast
    Bombs in the market
    White butterfly in her chest
    He wore black docs
    Hit this sword to dust
    Black Creek
Dirt boots so bold, soot eye
The cup runs over with time
    Dancing in the cave
New worlds in our darkened days
    These mountains scream our name
    Moments between long dead dreams
    Extract carbon to taste
The wine answers to the pitted fates
Feet bound in mud and salt
    Your love escapes Ghomara’s Gate
