This legend lived to be 96 yet never stopped singing the way he did. No doubt a phenomenal artist. We’ll miss you, Tony. Thanks for bringing joy to our lives with your music and your beautiful voice. ❤
Tony Bennett is a National Treasure.......I'm so happy to see him anytime.....I Loved him on American Idol a few year ago........I hope he lives forever.....and do "I lost my heart in San Francisco" again......that would make my day.
two giants of the biz. i agree with phxphillip, i hope he lives forever. he brings a smile to my face when i see him perform. im a huge fan. i cant believe somebody actually disliked this performance.
Amazing. I loved it! Billy Joel, our modern day Gershwin and Antonio Benedetto, (Tony Bennet) on stage together. Billy has kept his vocal chops in fine shape and sounded great, but Tony, at one point, nearly blew Joel off the stage with a sustained high note. Great singing, but at age 80, unbelievbable singing!!!
*audreyjonasoftheoper: While Billy Joel is a fine, classically trained pianist, I doubt he can play this song comfortably and "naturally". Tony Bennett's music is rooted in jazz. Jazz players tend to play with "swing" and "behind the beat". Classical players have a hard time with this because they have spent their entire musical lives playing "on top of the beat". It's easier to make a transition from classical to rock, because rock is also usually played "on top of the beat". It always sound funny to me when a classical player plays jazz. Their playing ends up sound square and a little stiff. They have a hard time with the concept of "swing".
Awkwerd moment when I left my old house to move into my current one we were playing the song on CD and and when my mom said "this the last time we'll be here so say goodbye to the house" (she says wierd stuff) tony said "Kiss the good life goodbye! it was so wierd lolz
**audreyjonasoftheoper um...if they have the piano man there, why da f*** do they need that random dude playing th piano???? (srry i'm in a bad mood!) **jazzmania99 That's Tony Bennett's trio! Where ever Tony Bennett goes, they go! He did a track with Elton John too, and he didn't play the piano either on the album. When they rehearse and perform, it's all vocals together only! @@jazzmania99 Actually, it's his Quartet, which now includes one of the best jazz guitarists to come out of Boston, one of the best Jazz Guitarists in America, Gray Sargent. Addendum: If Billy Joel were a comic book character, he'd be a super-villain... he seems to be able to absorb the phrasing of anyone with whom he sings.
