Another way to look at this fight is a clash of tactics and how their strategies play of each other.
In Aizen's case, despite how much more powerful he was compared to the other Shinigami, he still used his illusions very frequently, even when it wasn't necessary.
Against an opponent of unknown skill and ability, it would definitely be an opening move, which is a massive mistakes against Madara.
Being caught in the illusion very early, before either one has a chance to show their real power, Madara would be on guard for it for the rest of the fight, and ready to counter if and when it happens again.
This puts Aizen in a very unfamiliar position sense the ability to break out of illusions in Bleach is incredibly rare, and no one had ever done so with his own illusions so effortlessly, making Aizen rely more on his other skills and abilities than he is used to.
In a very direct contrast, despite having access to his own powerful illusions, Madara rarely used them, and when he did it was for a very deliberate purpose.
Madara was far more comfortable and experienced fighting someone on his level and winning without using all of his abilities, and would easily pick up on Aizen's inexperience without his illusions, despite his incredible power.
This is one of the episodes the Death Battle crew later talked about likely being wrong in the winner, thanks mainly to more accepting statements and (at the time) questionable feats of Bleach characters. But it’s still a well-written, very fun episode to me. I'll always like rewatching it.

A couple of fun facts
- The actually made custom sprites for both Madara and Aizen
- This was the second season to use custom sprites which they would continue to use in the future
- Nicholas Andrew Louie actually voiced Madara in this episode and he's voiced a bunch of other Death Battle characters. I call him a voice acting chameleon because you'll never know who he'll voice because he just that good
And I'd recommended Bill Vs Discord again because you might recognize a certain animator who worked on the fight
Also in case you didn’t know the next new episode of death battle releases October 6th
before the Six Paths Chakra, Madara could already do thousands of split Shadow Clones, up to 25 Wood Clones who each have 100% of his chakra, not a fraction. Also, Madara using Limbo allowed him to make one Limbo with a single Rinnegan, and four once he got both eyes back. So not only did he not have only one clone pre-Six Paths Chakra, he had plenty, the Six Paths Chakra also didn't even influence his clones at all. It just allowed Naruto to sense where they were
also no, Madara absolutely can swap from Sharingan to Rinnegan and back. They mention it in the analysis, and he also does it near the end of his fight against Naruto and Sasuke. Not to mention, if that wasn't the case, the whole existence of the Rinnesharingan, the crux of Madara's entire plan, would be completely pointless lol

I may not personally agree with this episode (seriously, the head researcher didn’t cover the Hogyoku because he found it too complicated, what?), but it is nonetheless a very entertaining episode!
Season 8 highlights time! It was the best season until Season 9… and then 9 got completely outclassed by Season 10… point is, they kept getting better and better.

To be honest, I really only included it because, 1: I think it's a perfectly fine episode overall, and 2: the insanity of Kill la Kill needs be spread. It is my favorite anime of all time.
