Michael Learns to Rock is from Denmark and it Blew in the 80's-90's internationally even in the US but I am sorry to say many Americans don't remember and not as sentimental as other countries. Many artists like Air Supply from Australia, Rick Price from Australia, Binoculars from Canada Even American artists in the past like Spiral Staircase and many more. When I was in my teenage years 97 I remember them performing their Hit "Paint My Love" in an American variety show, I for got the name of the show and MTV was constantly playing their Music Videos. I just googled it, the had been touring the US also.
The original version is “传奇”( which literally means "legend" in Chinese) from Li Jian. You've reacted to his "Lake Baikal" in Singer. The guy in this video rearranged this song and wrote English lyrics (new lyrics not translation) for it. I prefer the original version to this cover, because the original Chinese lyrics are beautiful and poetical. Li Jian also used dizi( Chinese transverse flute) for the bridge, which always gives me chills. Link for Li Jian's original version: ua-cam.com/video/HnAEWIqdGRs/v-deo.html
The original version of song was a Chinese song & it was very popular in China. This song was originally sung by Wang Fei, a very famous female singer in China. This is the first time I watch the English version of this song. it STILL sounds so pretty .
Looked up the name. Here' s some info. "Michael Learns To Rock was formed in the spring of 1988 by singer and keyboard player JASCHA RICHTER (born 1963), drummer KåRE WANSCHER (born 1969), guitarist MIKKEL LENTZ (born 1968) and bassist SøREN MADSEN (born 1967)."
Hi Sandy, just wanted to let u know that u have to check out this song in Mandarin especially Faye Wong’s version.....it’s nite & day, just my $0.02...😅 Enjoyed watching your reactions.🤗
thanks to your reaction, I learnt that this Danish band MLTR has done English version of another Chinese song . Prior, I only know the band did a English version for the Jacky Cheung greatest hit song Farewell Kiss or Wen Bie . Just matter of taste which version is preferable. The MLTR version has faster catchy beat whilst the original Wen Bie by Jacky Cheung is slower hauntingly beautiful n soulful . Here are the links to the 2 versions for your listening pleasure.. ua-cam.com/video/pDbv3jWE82E/v-deo.html - by Jacky Cheung ua-cam.com/video/TbLT12eg-lw/v-deo.html by MLTR For you info, if you visit Dubai , you will find the JC Wen Bie being played by Dubai famous biggest fountain in the world and the song never fail to mesmerize the crowd each time. See link ua-cam.com/video/ufE4LTxR4ac/v-deo.html JC was the previous generation King of Pop in Asia and has achieved legend status today .
