One of the reasons I want my next vehicle to be an electric pickup is to go off-roading while still hearing nature. It just sounds so peaceful and fun!
That intro in the first 5 seconds; that is what I’ve been looking for. I want something quite when I’m going through the deer woods!! My only concern is it’s ability to handle mud and water, and then the pressure washer after riding. It gets pretty wet in my area during hunting season, I have not had a season yet that didn’t require going through at least a few water/mud holes. Nothing extremely deep, but water and electricity…..
How many more advantages do you need when hunting a helpless deer ?? It’s funny they call hunting a sport, but the other side doesn’t know it’s even playing??
@@brianmck7363 in northern canada your options for food are hunting and fishing. We don’t have a grocery store close by (only by float plane) The deer lived a long happy live apposed to your caged mistreated beef. We make use of everything from the animal. It was humanly killed and will feed a family of 4 for months. How much waste did you create at your local star bucks or McDs?
I have been wondering, for at LEAST ten years, why don't these exist?!?! I literally broke down and got our first side by just over a year ago, and it is gas powered. (Follow up question though, did they talk about plowing snow with one of these? That is our biggest use of ours.)
Polaris did significant snow testing including plowing. It's great. In my experience with the old ranger ev (8 12v marine batteries not lithium) I can plow 6 inch deep heavy snow very easily. However it will only last about 5 miles doing that.
Any idea if the xp kinetic will support any type of V2L (Vehicle to Load)? It could be neat to use the vehicle as a backup energy source if power goes out.
They need to get the price down to where the ICE versions are (or less), priced one out here in Canada, $50K all in with a few accessories and tax. Web site has sold out.
I have a 19 HL crew on 35's with a 6" lift and 6" portals. I use it strictly for hunting. I do ride in wet areas. How will this handle water? I would love the quiet ride!
Hello, will this machine start on an incline from a parked situation? Will the parking brake hold and release as the accelerator is depressed similar to a golf cart or do you need to two foot it? Does it have hill hold control? Thanks
Hard to find what the drivetrain really is, did they ditch those CVT clutches. Should be smooth with shaft drive - Transmission: Gates synchronous belt w/ high/low range, reverse (electronic forward/reverse), parking; shaft-driven
Fantastic and great for some use-cases. While not for the "let's ride for hours to the middle of the forest" crowd, it's great for farm or use around the property people for sure. Be great to 4x4 in peace and quiet for a change. Didn't mention charger type though? Is it CCS like a car? Could I use my tesla charger for example?
Not sure how the new polaris batteries are but i have a 2016 ranger ev and the batteries suck ass. They are led acid so you have to keep filling the acid in them so they dont burn up and even if you take care of them they only last about 3 to 5 years and its about $4,000 to get the dealer to put new batteries in
Well, I actually do need more range than that. We routinely go 100-150 miles per day when we are out trail riding. Not to mention that when we are out on the trails in remote places, where are we supposed to charge the battery?
Sounds like this 1st go won’t meet your specific use case. That’s a good thing though, since they’re completely sold out. Sounds like it does satisfy quite of few other people’s needs. Hopefully but the time they release a trail riding version for ya, the’ll be able to ramp up production.
Sold out isn't the right word..this is another case of a genuine supply issue. I agree, MOST people overestimate how many miles/hours they ride. But luckily for you Tim, there's plenty of gassers available!!
These have very noisy gas engins. , which put me off. Also being an explorer i have solar etc on my caravan and big battries.. so i am definitely going to be watching this in future.. its more affordable to
How un-American do you have to be to not support and American manufacturer based in the heartland of the Midwest? This is a great differentiator from the competition like Honda, Kawasaki and Yamaha. Glad to hear Polaris sold out of all of these already and I hope they sell out of next year’s models as well. Go American made 🇺🇸 🤟!! It’s really sad to see how Fox News oil money has turned some people into non-thinking sheep.
@@Electrek But ifyou only use you daily driver over your maximum range a handful of times a year, your vehicle is still worthless in those a handful of times a year. Learned this the hard way, needing to tow a 4k lbs utility trailer through the mountains a few times a year. No different with this. I also learned my lesson the hard way with my electric snowblower in Buffalo, have to recharge 3 or 4 time to do driveway. Your argument people don't use their machine hard enough to deplete the range is simply false. Tell me you never worked on a farm without telling me you never worked on a farm...
I’m sorry , great idea but STOP defending a $20,000 vehicle that goes 40 miles !!!! Keep in mind outside of perfect conditions (terrain , hot weather , cold weather your range drastically drops) What a complete joke

It’s much easier to seal up an electric motor than a gas engine.
The water from rain puts it in shut down mode
These things look so fun.
There is something to be said about quietly moving through the bush without disturbing wildlife. Especially if you are hunting.
Definitely a lot quieter, I have an electric bike and other than a little winding sound you can’t hear it until I’m almost right up on yo

Ahh! Little drone buddy got stuck! lol. This thing looks like so much fun. It looks tall for its wheelbase; is it tippy?
I had to try really hard to get two wheels in the air on turns. The low mounted dual battery packs make it stable and hard to tip.
Can you charge with 110 or is it 220 only charging?
And reverse is rough on all Polarises if that has a belt drive in it it's going to be the same as most Polarises with the jerkiness of the rivers
EVs normally are direct drive. Not transmission.

You can plug into 110 volt wall plug or 240 volt. Details are on the website.

New ones are lithium-ion. From Zero motorcycles.

Great ride but because of lack of competition its to expensive
Was that master chief?
You could mount a big solar panel on the roof and one on the hood n never buy gas again
I just don't understand why they are sooo expensive
You want to make a vehicle that will take this sort of punishment? With a lithium battery? That will cost you.
The gas version is almost as expensive. Gas side by side can easely go for 45 k canadian with the options.
Gotta pay to play! It's not a cheap hobby and it's certainly not for everyone. 🖤
