Doodlebug Four Exactly! "Doctor" in particular is a great example of that. The PSP's version OST for example is good on it's own merits, but it lacks the "dreamlike" atmosphere. Which makes it less distinctive (and fitting IMO) in comparison.

This is actually pretty good for a normal encounter and blends in with the original atmosphere of the very first persona game where the puzzles are beginning to form.
This theme always reminds me of TRF's EZ DO DANCE (yes yes, Mark danced crazy!) Which would kind of make sense, given how TRF were really popular in Japan at this time.
It fits the game a lot more than the persona 3-ish theme Shoji Meguro did for the remake. Don't get me wrong, i like Shoji Meguro's stuff, but the original OST for persona was a lot more fitting for the game.

We've all felt that sentiment listening to Megaten OSTs. The Fear of God from Strange Journey is the most notable one for me. Really goes to show how hard the composers go.
If you can read Japanese, get a japanese ps1, get this game, and experience the original experience, Revelations is a terrible localization, and the PSP version changes so many things the tone is not even the same, you NEED to play this game how it was originally, trust me

And they actually made the game easier in Revelations, lowering the counter rate and giving more EXP per battle, in reality is far higher in the Japanese version.

Patch isn't perfect though. Battle themes don't loop properly, bunch of tracks are missing due to PSP version have less tracks than the original, and there no prebattle music during boss fights.
I think part at 0:54 is referenced in DDS1’s Steel Coffin Second Movement. It could also be one of the P2 tracks but I think this one is the original reference.
