Came back again to see the video a second time. This 7-string Sawtooth guitar is on the top of my new guitar wishlist. Why?
1. It has a 25 inch scale length. I had a 26.5 Ibanez 7-string and currently the standard 25.5 7-string second hand Kiesel DC700. The 26.5 was uncomfartable to play and didn’t sound good either. Playing frets 1-5 is painfull to my wrist because the reach is too far. Soundwise it gave a penetrating high sound. The 25.5 sounds balanced but still zi have to reach my arm far to play the first 5 frets. Wrist pain is less than with 26.5 but still it’s there. Then I also had a 6-string Les Paul with the 24.75 inch scale and that to me was always a bit too small. It is easy to reach the first frets but as you go higher up the scales the space between the frets become too small. So I think 25 inch would be ideal for me while still keeping enough string tension for the lower strings.
2. Talking about frets I always preferred the Dunlop 6105 size. They are smaller than the standard jumbo frets but has the same height. I hope this guitar has the around the same size as MAB is mentioning that the frets for this Sawtooth model are smaller. That way you can compensate the shorter scale. There is then more space between the frets especially a priority for the higher frets.
3. The active/passive pickups. That way I can choose
