- Whilst Chicago P.D. hunt down Freddy for stabbing Herrmann he eventually gets what he deserves. But Cruz still faces hermann to apologise
Season 4 Episode 10 "The beating Heart"
Hermann is rushed to Chicago Med after being stabbed at Molly's. After losing a lot a blood, it is determined he needs emergency surgery. Feeling guilty about Hermann's present state, Cruz searches for Freddy to turn him in. Severide is reinstated as Lieutenant while Borelli grows more concerned about Chili's erratic behavior. Mouch considers finally proposing to Platt.

Guys like Freddie never change. He had good people around him who tried to help and he still tried to kill one of them. Lock them up and never let them out.

Am I the only one who thinks Freddy needed help more than anything? He clearly had issues that he didn't know how to deal with properly
He needed therapy more than he needed a job. All this happened because Freddie was conditioned from a young age to react violently to any perceived insults. Unfortunately, those habits will become even more ingrained when he’s in prison and he’ll probably become a repeat offender.
@@kaylizzie7890 If it keeps one violent criminal off the streets for several decades, I'd lose no sleep over it.
I mean the problem is with us prisons that you likely just make peoples conditions or issues worse. What if he walks out of prision a few decades later, but even more extreme than before? Almost like some rehabilitation work inside prisons would make more sense
@@wehrwolff6447 The system's not likely to change because public opinion always outweighs the data. The average taxpayer hates the idea of prisoners getting any favours they themselves have to work and pay for.

As a son of an ex social worker for juvies, I've been raised in an environment that cultivated a high belief in second chances and that the reason for a crime is more important then the crime. But I also learnt that you can't help someone who refuses to take your hand, and that if you're determined to keep living in the sludge it's not worth the energy to fight for you when it can be used to raise up someone else. And to those thst don't know, Freddie wasn't in a desperate situation, he was pissed, herrmenn touched a sore point of his and while sure, his old school tough guy personality can get under your skin sometimes, Freddie could've easily just walked away, tried talking to cruz or something about it, instead, he stabbed him in the liver. the reason for a crime is more important than the crime. The fact that it was malicious is worse then the stabbing itself.
