What is the actual intention of building a 0 rebound shock for a EP touring car, vs a making a shock with some rebound? Isn’t a 0 rebound shock will rely entirely on the shock spring in this case, and the WT of the shock oil doesn’t matter anymore in this case?
Building shocks with zero rebound is important from a consistency standpoint. You are right that with zero rebound, you rely on the chosen shock spring. This ensures that you get the performance you want when changing a shock spring rather than having some effect from the shock rebound. Shock oil will still be important as that will affect the damping rate. Shocks with zero rebound is something that you can replicate from re-build to re-build. This consistency is hard to achieve if you build shocks with some rebound as it is difficult to get the same level of rebound when re-building. Hope this helps.
Just got my 1st XRay. A T4 2018 and will be using this method when I assemble the shocks. Thx bro!!
Really very good tutorial for assembling the new ULP shocks. THX :)!!
Awesome tip!
Thank You..
When do you use the foam insert on top of the rubber membrane and when not?
The foam should make the damping harder. Probably more suited for smoother tracks. But we believe most of the team drivers do not use the foam.

Perfect!

Urban PlaySpace Learned something new. Thanks mate!
Would this work for 1/8 offroad cars too?
Should work with any shock that has an oil seal
