In this video, I’ll walk you through the essential steps to prepare your brand-new dive mask before hitting the water. Proper mask prep helps prevent fogging, ensuring a crystal-clear view of your underwater adventures. We’ll cover:
1️⃣ Scrubbing your mask with toothpaste - Using a non-gel toothpaste and a soft toothbrush to remove any residual film.
2️⃣ Rinsing and cleaning your mask - How to properly rinse your mask without damaging the material.
3️⃣ A step you should not try at home! - This step involves using a lighter to burn off the inner film that can cause fogging. ⚠️ Do NOT attempt this step at home ⚠️ - If you want to try this method, I recommend visiting your local dive shop and having a professional assist you.
