Brilliant interview! It's a shame these videos don't get more views considering how much goes into them. Travel, editing, translations, planning ect. This deserves ten times the views but I understand it's a very niche topic. Plus it tests our tiny brains by being 22 minutes, not 22 seconds like everything is these days.

There is a limit cap at every body weight what you can *almost* lift. And if a person is lifting weights that no normal human should be able to at a particular body weight ( say someone squatting 300+ kg ATG at 90 kg body weight) he most certainly is not. And as the normal saying going... if the person is not looking natural...he/she is most likely is not.

@@Demiamant "genetic freaks" is a catagory in humanity, and top athletes are top athletes for a reason. Freak genetics+hard work=top athlete. Not everyone that does grazy weight is on steroids. Say a powerlifter whos on gear has a max 1k lb backsquat. as a natty, hed still be able to get over an 800 backsquat at his peak, maybe even a lil more. Steroids arent a miracle drug that take a string bean dude 150lbs wet and make him into a 280lb lean monster who can all the sudden tripple his bodyweight in a squat. Youre generalizing humans to a very average catagory as if anyone whos 230lbs or above is automatically on roids, and as if there is no possible way that people are born gifted and every human fits within an exact perameter of what you think people "should be able" to lift. Thats not how things work.

The desire to restrict someone to their culture instead of exploring every possible option to become better... It's very common in asian countries unfortunately due to the intense patriotic pride. It's also why people always keep their training and techniques secret instead of everyone helping each other.

People refused to share with me when I asked for advice in bodybuilding and general fitness etc. Even paid training sessions. Fortunately, I had opportunity to study oversea and join Crossfit. By Clarence's own fake natty standards (adding 10-15% weight the supposed "natty"'s totals, and checking if they are plausible), Toshiki's case is kinda plausible and kinda sus at the same time. Imagine someone who did 230 clean from blocks @ 89 kg bodyweight natty and then started using gear. He would manage to do 250-260 kg? That sounds kind of outlandish. At the same time, his snatch would go up to 175-187 and his C&J to 228-240.... which is arguably plausible, as that is the range of current world records for the 89 and 96 kg classes. He earns the benefit of the doubt, I guess.

Gonna bring all the DYELs in for this one.
Edit: Jawon Garrison, a powerlifter in the 181lb class, JUST set a world record squat of 777lbs a few days ago at the American Pro 2. Jawon is a lifetime natty, and he actually plans to go to the untested side and hop on to turn himself into a real monster the way John Haack did. Toshiki can 100% achieve the feats he has naturally.
Genetic freaks are real whether people want to except it or not. But trying to convince DYELs of this is like talking to a brick wall.

    • @christopherroberts2500

Testing is so incredibly easy to get around in the IPF/other tested feds. Give them a date window, blast outside of that window, make sure your system is flushed a week or so beforehand either side. It's literally just an intelligent test. The fact that 'tested' lifters are equalling or BESTING untested records - guys who have carte blanche to take EVERYTHING - should tell you all you need to know. The majority of the top 10 in any given weight category/class (outside of the LW women's or supers perhaps) will be juicing on the sly. I don't disagree with your point however that there ARE insanely gifted naturals out there.

But anti-doping scientists are also genius-level smart. You can't just clear out all exogenous hormones out of your body to take a PED test and not have your biomarkers be completely and obviously out of whack. It doesn't take a galaxy-brain IQ to see a 200 lb stud with 99th percentile genetic superiority, see his free testosterone levels are about equal to a 90 year old FEMALE, and know that there might be something up lmao.

While I won't claim to believe he's natty, I've also suspended disbelief in Toshiki's lack of natty-ness. My only personal take on support for him being natty is how many injuries and surgeries he's had. If we believe Clarence was natty when he said he was, he got to 150/190ish (I think) without gear, but messing up his knees and being constantly pretty badly injured and awful feeling. Going with this, too, Toshiki had almost a decade more of competitive WL experience than Clarence, giving him a lot more time to get more gains. It seems like Toshiki he had worse injuries than even Clarence did, and kept pushing through in very extreme ways (see other WLW's interviews) so to me it's conceivably possible he got to where he did natty, but paid a bigger price. Whereas if he wasn't natty, you'd figure he'd have been able to get by with less injuries by taking HGH or similar, or even non-banned drugs like calcitonin or Actovegin.

@@ahmarcamacho8404 In endurance sports mostly. Alberto Salazar in USA was famous for doing it with his athletes. Figured it would help Toshiki as it's meant for bone healing. Not on the banned list, either. For what it's worth, too, Toshiki could have legally used TB500 until I think 2021 or 2022, and BPC-157 until this year. Copper peptide still isn't on the banned list, either.
The fact that he (seemingly) just kept on running super injured without using these things to me makes me think, well, maybe he is/was natty?

I think the stakes for a Japanese person are much higher than for - let's say - the liver king, though. The absolute fundamental importance of keeping "face"/kao to any Japanese person, especially public person cannot be grasped easily by a Westerner. Toshiki could not live the life he wants to live admitting he uses or has used PEDs since Japanese culture is extremely concerned with honesty, integrity and keeping all that aligned with "face"/kao.
So if you think Toshiki uses PEDs, I think you should cut him some slack.

I think it just makes average people feel better about being average to scream steroids, because then you can tell yourself "If I started using roids, I could be like that too". Truth is, genetics are a b*tch, and you could take all the PEDs in the world to still wind up smaller and weaker than the genetic elite are without any drugs. The truth hurts, and I understand not wanting to accept that reality.

I actually believe he could be natural, especially looking at his body composition which isn't outrageous like most bodybuilders that openly use PED's. Of course his strength is way more "suspicious", but there is still a significant gap between him and the lifters from countries like China, who definitely do use something.

Its so sad and also funny that many guys here believes Toshiki is fake natty.
He has passed strict drug tests countless times while he was competing and the bodybuilding federation he is in also impose athletes drug inspection announced and unannounced.

what is most interesting is how difficult it is for viewers to imagine that this is possible without some magical pharmaceutical enhancement. It's as if by eliminating any possibility we are freed from our own internal sense of pre-determined hopelessness...it is much easier to be cynical, contrarian and crush any possibility in the other than it is to admit our own human limitations.

There's a legendary Japanese bodybuilder named Koji Godo. He got fundus hemorrhage on his left eye due to his intense training, and his doctor told him that he had to inject some steroids in him, but he refused it because he was so dead-set on being a natural bodybuilder. As a result, his left eye went blind. The other day, he got 12th place at the biggest nationwide natural bodybuilding contest in Japan at the age of 62. Toshiki wasn't even qualified to be there. This proves that his body is achievable while being natural. Well, I guess it doesn't prove it since it's still possible that Koji is a fake natty. But he went so far as to sacrifice one of his precious eyes because of his unnecessary pride and stubbornness. He must be natural and has a better body than Toshiki's.
