I really like how your channel goes after panfish and admires the unique colors of your catch instead of being like every other channel that just goes after bigger bass
I stopped watching the bass fishing channels ,they're all the same over hyped up on gucci gear and " big hogggs" and just way over the top acting for a 2lb bass. Rather see unique catches and variety over guys yanking bass across the water saying how hard fighting it was when they're using over powered setups hoping for a unicorn 12lb bass😂😂😂

Another great video Alex!!! It was nice to see the different types of gulp and how they performed! That bluegill at the end was definitely a great way to end the day!! Love how you always keep it realistic 😊
@@redrhinooutdoors @Jon Allen Same here, I’ve had little luck with the red night crawlers, they’re super “memory” like fishing line that keeps it’s tangled shape. It’s all jagged. But the Pinched Crawlers work great and I think it’s partly due to the look of them. They look much more real and I’ve found personally that smaller baits tend to do better than large ones.
I have yet to try either Gulp products so this was helpful to watch. I'll say one thing I like is having your bait in a container about the size of a pill bottle. You don't have to lug a tackle box, worm container box, or minnow bucket, all around with you. I mainly Fly Fish but once in awhile wind conditions just won't allow it. Then I get out my many decades old vintage bright shinny green all metal casing Johnson Century spin reel and casting rod. Had it since I was nine and I'm seventy and a half now. Guys are always trying to buy it off of me when they see it. I've kept it well maintained by greasing and oiling all individual parts. It is a beauty. Caught many a Bluegill on it over a lifetime. I too am a Bluegill fisherman at heart. I enjoy by Bass, Crappie, and Trout, but my heart is always with the Bluegill. Here in the South we get some nice big fat ones eight and nine inches not uncommon. So I'm going to try the Gulp baits now that I've seen your video. I trust Realistic Fishing more then any fishing program on UA-cam!
Despite what some people say, I like your bluegill videos. All of them really. In the south and southern midwest, shellcracker, sunfish and bluegill/bream is a main sport fish for many, many people. Keep up the good work. We're watching.
I haven't had much luck with Gulp minnows in the past. However, the other day fishing was slow and I put on a 2-inch Gulp from last year and got four fish iin about 15 minutes; three crappie and a bass. I'm going to be trying the Gulp minnows more this year. 👵🤠 🎣🚣🏿♀️
Out here in Europe earthworm is main bait for wild waters fishing. Yours golden shiners, are much like ours roach, and roach loves fresh earthworm. Glad to see gulp worm worked well. Keep it realistic!
I do enjoy my bass fishing, but sometimes nothing other than ultralight will do. I love that you switch it up on occasion too, and every fish is a good fish.
Thanks for the tip on keeping the paper top on the Gulp minnow jar...I've got a stanky fishing bag now b/c of that dang jar of minnows...will remember next time.
You mentioned geese. For the first time this year, there is a pair of Canada geese that have hatched out four goslings. I love having new wildlife move into the pond.
@@ingridmatthews6627 Yup. Keeping an eye out. Kind of dangerous back there for the little ones from coyotes to snapping turtles. Hope some of them make it through to the fall.
I'm almost done with a jar of some type of Gulp worms, have to say they've worked real good on the bluegills and crappie in a local canal. Nice work out there brother!
The 1" gulp minnows catch fish PERIOD! I use them all the time on crappie, sunfish and stocked trout. Hardly use anything else. Next favorite Gulp bait is the waxies. I have so much confidence in Gulp!
I use the 2.5 inch minnow on a real small drop shot and fish deeeeep vertical spots in my local river for bass and it slays! All the dams and trees make vertical rigs tough but dropping a minnow down there is lethal!
Get some specimen cups the doctors use they seal great for those Gulp products? I just asked my doctor for a few when I had my last appointment. He asked why I needed them when I told him he said he hated those Gulp jars!
It’s so funny that you put this video out today. I was standing in my local Walmart and was looking for some Gulp minnows I been wanting to try after watching your videos and they were out of stock. They had one jar of earthworm left and I was a little iffy and decided to wait and try again later when they’re in stock on the minnows again. Maybe I’ll go back and pick up both to see if I have similar results
I bought some Gulp Alive Fat Trout Floating Worms a while back but keep forgetting to use them. They look pretty realistic, so hopefully I'll catch something. Thanks for the reminder to put them in my fishing backpack. Great video! KIR.
That new earthworm bait reminds me a lot of their pinched crawler, but the earthworms might be a bit more cost effective. The pinched crawler is a staple for me with smallmouth, either under a bobber or on a drop shot rig. It never fails. I'll have to look into the red earthworm bait. Good stuff!
I've had similar results with the Gulp pinched crawlers. They work, but the Gulp minnows work better. Powerbait Hunnyworms and Gulp Minnows are my 2 goto baits.
Cool golden shiner man. Never caught one myself. They look really pretty. And what a mondo bluegill to end with. Gotta say I'm surprised those worms kept up with the minnow a bit.
I’ve really liked those red worms for bluegills the past few years. Break them into 1 inch pieces and it’s a lot of bait for just a few dollars. I’ve had better luck with the red than the natural color. Don’t know why.
I ve been going to one park all the time but guess what I catch fish there because its realistic supper pressured to. But I pull them out thanks alex you been a great teacher.
I have tried the red wigglers before ... wasn't terribly impressed. In cold water they get stiff fast so they only seem to work for a few casts. I prefer BERKLEY POWER HONEY WORMS when the bite is tough... they last a long time and they almost always get a bite.
Been using the Gulp "earthworms" at my go-to spots down along the Jersey Shore and only getting tiny, skinny pickerel and one nice yellow perch...will have to hit up Bass Pro Shop in AC to see if I can find the Gulp minnows and give them a whirl...tight lines Alex.
Very interesting. I bought the red worms and to be honest one of the worst baits I ever used. That final blue gill was a cracking way to end a session. KIR
I am so ready to go fishing... I started fixing my truck again, putting it back together and I got distracted by the mini bike. I got some new upgrades 😑 trucks almost done i just need to add some diff fluid and realign the rear axle. The weather is getting nice and warm, the lake is calling my name, I need to get out there and fish.
I've tried those gulp worms before. They seem effective enough but I tend to hook panfish pretty deep when I use them so I've leaned away from them since.. they work just fine over all tho.
Try out the Gulp Alive Pinched 1" Night Crawlers. They are in a jar of liquid like the minnows are. I just got some today. They look really good. I'm going to try them out tomorrow.

Sunfish often hybridize, especially when they are highly populated or in smaller bodies of water, like creeks.
