I film on the opposite side of the batting team because the team batting has 2 or 3 players in the on deck area at all times so you cannot stand there.

@@javtimestwo I would love to change the rules of softball.
      - 2 outs per inn
      - 1 HR per team per game
      - start the count 0-2
      - one swing
      - one middle shot per game.
      - No tagging from any base
      - You can only advance on an error ( pop up )
      - No infield rule
      - If losing by 10 in the 5th game over
These are some of the rules that would make softball better...

@@RiverPlateCT 10 in 5 is an actual rule. most have a 20 in 4 rule as well. there are 1 pitch tournaments...very fun to play... and most lower level Utrip softball have much fewer homeruns per game. Rec plays with 1 and then IEO (inning ending out). middle shots are part of the game. the rest of your nonsense is just that....nonsense.

Measure out 50 feet in your backyard and practice pitching the ball onto a bucket lid or something behind home plate with arc that at least goes above your head. Strike zones arent usually supposed to be called where it lands but if you can do that then you'll be able to pitch to any strike zone pretty easily. As far as in the game, make sure your feet are set in a fielding position when the batter swings. If you get caught standing flat footed you might get hit. Wear a mask like these guys always. Every year there are a handful of maskless pitchers who get killed or hospitalized.
