Once I was in a cinema when there were only 5 people including me. But even then there was more noise during the movie, than during the premiere of Nosferatu. I rarely see that all the seats are bought during the premiere, but the silence is like in a cemetery. Everyone was impressed by the atmosphere of the film. It says a lot.
That's exactly what I said to people about my viewing. It's been so long since I've been in such a silent theater. Only other time is watching that first Exorcist, everybody is glued.
Yep I'm so glad I stayed away from everything about this movie. I loved the Witch and the Lighthouse so I knew I was seeing it no matter what. I just knew it had Willem Dafoe and rats in it. Was a big surprise when I looked up who played Orlok
I saw Robert Eggers Nosferatu last Thursday night at the cinema and it was amazing Bill Skarsgard makes a great actor to play Nosferatu his performance was so good and that’s what makes him a great actor to play Nosferatu also he’s played Pennywise and Now Nosferatu that’s amazing two Monsters he’s deserves credit for both roles also I was a fan of the original Nosferatu and that one was good as well I think FW Murnau version and Robert Eggers version of Nosferatu are both best films.
It's a terrible film, this comes from a Eggers fan btw. Very mediocre cliche pretentious Hollywood mess with no point or cathartic message, nor it leads to anything. There is no artistic conclusion in the script. Its just a series of well shot sequences with mediocre soundtrack. Bad film.
@ I agree, & even the shots from the film were not as breath-taking or intriguing as they were in The Northman, which I despise as a film but adore cinematographically. (Coming from a former Eggers fan too)
It was actually genuinely unnerving? The music and the animal trainers did a really good job too. It gives this sort of dreadful feeling which is rare in horror movies now. It was a really refreshing film at the time, I still really like it.

Sadly, he did not really get to act a lot in Nosferatu. All those prosthetics & that stupid mustache, plus the silly voice ... That was quite goofy in its sum
@ I watched Nosferatu & was utterly bored. The story was unmotivated, as no character besides Ellen Hutter had more complex motivations as could be described in one single sentence. Therefore, they had no drive, no conflicting interests & emotions that transferred beyond the screen. The film still had a few good scenes, but overall lacked motivation & tension. And to circle back to Skarsgard: Kudos for enduring the make-up process, but it was not worth it. He had maybe three scenes good where he appeared intimidating, standing or sitting in the shadows. But with all the make-up & the prosthetics in his face, the disgusting look wore me down within two or three close-up shots, & worst of all, Skarsgard could not emote anymore. His face was a complete mask, literally & figuratively, & that did not work at all.
@@matejkolar5386 Not a "bro" & sure I did. I'll even give you great examples of subtle acting, like Daniel Kaluuya in Nope, Rebecca Ferguson in Dune: Part One, Oscar Isaac & Jessica Chastain in A Most Violent Year, Mahershala Ali in Moonlight ... I can go on, but Bill Skarsgard's Orlok will not end up on that list

i feel like casting skarsgards as vampires has become a thing

The Pennywise grin at the end😭😭
He was fantastic in that role
C’mon man, we all knew you were gonna play that part
Dude just did that with his face btw there was no cgi or makeup
Love to see him in a non horror film for a change..like a cia agent, comedy role or a romantic lead.😅
No way he wasnt handpicked for the count
Nothing in eggers fimography has come close to the witch for me. Lighthouse was solid, but his last two films didnt do it for me.

Nosferatu was garbage.
Nosfetau sucked!
Just like your spelling
The witch and the lighthouse i find pretty boring i don't know why people called the lighthouse a horror movie.
Because not all things are visually horrific
Witch is OK. What incredible about it.

@EmilyAnne1013 how did you like hereditary and midsommer?
The lighting? The camera work? The setting? Minimalist, gritty, historical horror at its best
@@TR-707 I like Midsommar a lot, Hereditary more on my second watch. They're weird and creepy in a way we don't see too much. I liked them.
@EmilyAnne1013 I was expecting much more from Witch after being exposed to horror like those films

You win the most Ass-take award!
You the type a guy who needs every film to have a liberal message, maybe actually watch the movie

Every actors dream to play a racist stereotype about "easterners"
Eh... Ok
Orlock was based on Slavik folklore and only loosely on Stoker's Dracula.
What the hell are you talking about? Not everyone and everything is racist.

For someone so beautiful and so talented his interview skills need work.
You know this clip has multiple cuts right?
It’s not the interview in it’s entirety.
Lol why?
what are you talking about? please elaborate
