    Thanks for the information. I appreciate the time you gave to inform. I have been considering which stage to get for my BOSS302. To see a BOSS with a stage 3 in motion is helpful.

    did you have to have your car tuned due to 4th gear being a straight cut gear? my car is 2016 mustang gt and i have it installed but it lagg until about 3000rpm.. called ben and he said that i need a retune due to the gear being straight cut..in 4th gear..it only happen in 4th every other gear works great

    • @CoyoteProductionsBoss302
      @CoyoteProductionsBoss302  2 роки тому +1

      No I have not tuned yet to the gears waiting for my head and cam upgrade to do that at the same time. I spoke several times with Ben and Allen on separate occasions about the vibration. They never mentioned the 4 gear being straight cut. Only to retune to the new gear ratios and said “there’s nothing in the trans that would cause vibration”
      Allen said he had the exact same problem on his s550 and found his header pipe was rubbing on the chassis.
      I’m going to do another video looking for a contact on the chassis and also run the car on jack stands without the rear wheels to see if I can recreate the problem and come to some sort of conclusion. After that I’m going to put it to bed and move on.
      Thanks for watching and commenting!

    I couldn't hear any trans gear noise. I have a 17 mustang gt premium performance pack with roush supercharger and 725 hp. McLeod rxt twin disc and steeda 1 piece aluminum driveshaft. Would prefer a stage 3. Just how much noise are we talking about

    • @CoyoteProductionsBoss302
      @CoyoteProductionsBoss302  3 роки тому +1

      Well I’m getting my whine now in which I’m ok with. My biggest complaint is the vibration with noise as it’s passing through rpm ranges. It will vibrate your seat. Not a quite comfortable cruiser anymore. I think the single driveshaft also doesn’t help. The trans does pull hard through. If you drive the car a lot and make small trips it’s just annoying.
      I don’t but I need to drive it a 1000 miles to fully break it in. I will do a 500 mile check in and a 1000 mile. I have a vid on “Calimer first drive” try that. Thanks and stay tuned.

      By the way, I’m going back on the Dyno first Friday in May to see if there’s a gain from the trans. Just working through some misfire codes first.
      Unfortunately the tuner already had a car on the Dyno and he had different expectations then I. He did diagnose my issue. I was disappointed as I thought I was supposed to be diagnosed on the rollers and then do my pulls.

    What clutch are you using? Are you stock hp? Rst vs rxt?

    • @CoyoteProductionsBoss302
      @CoyoteProductionsBoss302  2 роки тому +1

      Hi Ryan, running a McLeod RST 800 hp, Estimated hp from Dyno taking out parasitic loss on the motor is 528. 449 to the wheel/.85 gives crank hp. Dyno was on 62 plus lbs per wheel (20”) so I think she’s got a little more in it on my drag stars at 48 lbs per wheel. Clutch grabs well and pedal is not stiff.
      Are you by chance related to Jim and Ray? Thanks for watching!
      I’m hitting the track next week and all my mods are on my IG page CoyotesNorth.

    I have a supercharged coyote making around 630 wheel and was looking to get this transmission because ive blown 2 mt-82s but do practically daily the car how do you think it would hold up?

    • @CoyoteProductionsBoss302
      @CoyoteProductionsBoss302  2 роки тому

      I think it will be fine, good for 1000 hp/900 ft lbs. of torque. But if it your daily expect to hear noise from this trans, it’s loud I have several videos around it and a professional racer/installer of Tremec trans said the noise was unacceptable. So the point I’m trying to make is it’s not the reliability of the trans it’s the noise you hear it and wears you down after a while. If you know someone in your area I recommend you see if you can at least hear in person. I’m in SW Michigan if u are close, I would be glad to show you but otherwise checkout some of my later vids on the BC stage 3. It just takes away the niceness of the car, first 2 gears sounds like a dump truck. If the noise is not an issue than u r good to go!

      @@CoyoteProductionsBoss302 The noise doesn't bother me unless its super bad at highway speeds and goes over the radio noise i already have a twin disk clutch so its very noisy at low speeds I'm just looking for something more reliable that wont break vie blown 2 mt-82s in the span of a month and a half at my power level so looking for something that's going to handle it and I don't know anyone with the Calimer builds a few with the tremecs and there not too noisy but I'm down in Missouri

      @@bryce1962 well it’s a solid trans no doubt I would recommend this trans. Check out some of the other videos around the noise.
      5th and 6th gears are quite and 3rd and 4th are quite except around the boom as described by a builder which is around 3000 rpm. break in in the worse and the noises shift, full break in is 3000 miles and hammer time is 1000 miles of break in.

      @@bryce1962 per BC you need to change every 10k miles and no need to change after break in. If you are pounding on the car or drag racing a lot he suggests to change more frequent. Full break in is 3000 miles and recommends not to pound on the trans until after 1000 miles.

    How’s the transmission holding up now ? And did you switch your clutch

    • @CoyoteProductionsBoss302
      @CoyoteProductionsBoss302  3 роки тому +3

      Andrew, clutch is great and quite. I changed it last May, it grabs really hard.
      The trans has become just a little quieter and is whining more, however, there’s still a lot of vibration at different speeds and rpm. I only have 150-160 miles on it and I have been getting the misfire code more often so trying to fix that so I can drive more. Apparently there’s a TSB on crank the crank sensor P0300 code from vibration. The trans vibration I believe made it worse. I have the fix from Ford and will be doing that video soon. Thanks for watching!

      @@kevinkevinson22 well I don’t think it’s much, I’m going to guess less than 5 mph. I changed back to 3:73 gears from the 4:10’s when I changed trans so I’m seeing over 15 mph difference. I also found out my Ngauge doesn’t adjust for gear ratios/ tire size like the SCTX4 will. Remember 5 gear is still 1:1 so you should be fine in 5th and 6th.
