I think the structure of the chorus is kinda unsettling, like… when they sing “Love is cosmic” it feels like you want it to resolve but they just pivot into the second half of the chorus and you’re like “oh we’re,,, we’re still going”. It’s beautiful and haunting, they absolutely nailed the midsommar cult-ish concept

I didn’t get much 80’s synth wave from this .. I actually got more disco with the strings 😭 but it was moreso a fusion of different sounds so it worked for me
@@fifizappareacts i don't know whether anyone else has commented but i hear the "i will survive" sample so strong in the chorus melody even though it's been slightly enriched to fit the sound...i think it provides such a unique tone to the song overall in conjunction with the midsommar theme as the whole narrative of the film is dark and cultly so having "i will survive" added in in some form is kinda fun and playful with the creepy which red velvet are all about! the visual theme aligning with the song so seamlessly i feel puts it in a similar plateau as "feel my rhythm" even though they're so different sonically! loved the reaction fifiiii 💕
The moment I heard this song post-night shift I immediately was like "Fifi's gonna f*ckin' love this!" and I WAS RIGHT!!!!! The "through the Solar system" melody is honestly the most gorgeous part of this song, like it brings tears to my eyes. I love this comeback so much. The song gives me "Attention" by Charlie Puth mixed with the sound of ABBA. Sprinkled with Red Velvet harmonies and melodies that only they can master. It's majestic.

The disco was subtle in the chorus and fused well with other sounds rather than just a disco “wannabe” so I was able to enjoy it!
