I swear everyone in these comments turn into financial advisors during these types of videos. Imagine having nothing better to do than watch these videos just to bash someone for the purchases they make their money.
I think in this situation it's because every other person they've interviewed spent it a lot more wisely. PJ is a good player but likely caps out as a top end Role Player. He should definitely be smarter than to spend half of his money on cars being that they depreciate in value faster than almost any other big purchase. He might have a good 10-15 year career with 2-3 nice contracts but if he continues this kind of spending he will go broke, it's just facts. Factor in risk of injury, lockouts and it's easy to see why people are bashing his spending. I say spend those first couple million to get the impulse purchases out of your system then smarten up and plan for your future so I got no problem with what he did but if that continues he's going to end up like the rest of the people who go broke after their career ends.
Brandon C he's not gonna be spending on rent for 2 more apartments or buy 3 more cars. He's gonna buy a house once he gets 100% sorted out in Charlotte, which is the 100% best investment you can make. Plus he's one of the only rookies top 10 in points, rebounds, and assists in the class, and he's not just a role player. He's set himself up to be a future piece the Hornets hope to build around, I know there's the risk of anything that could happen but as long as he's signed to his contract he will earn every penny he's guaranteed. Now is the time he'll spend the most money just because he has to lay the groundwork
