Lovely! Does it take a long time to get all the recorders in tune? Often (usually?) recorders aren't prefectly in tune with itself either. Do you screen every recorder to be "good enough" to make the ensemble work? Excellent as always, you all do very good work.

I can only speak for myself, as a member of the orchestra, but I think the short answer to your question would be that as in all ensembles considerable time is devoted, both individually and in rehearsal, to intonation. It's a complex subject, though. Temperature considerations (wind instruments) also play a role, as well as the coupling of the various instruments in the orchestra's arrangements, and yes, the choice and preparation of individual instruments. That's my take for you in a nutshell. Please "stay tuned", as we used to say, as there will be more videos to come.
