Spot on comment, but also think it's worth mentioning that 'Och aye the noo' is what people say when they're about to try a Scottish Accent, but have no idea what they're doing, because nobody really says it. The only time Scottish people say it is to make fun of other people saying it!

I thought that this and Bob and Shuga arguing over whether or not Tayce's outfit looked great were the funniest moments in another really funny review show

All she would have to do is just use a deep gasoline condition and then just add a little heat at a high increment, to the point where there is some combustion, then just say a prayer. I've done that to wigs and one boyfriend. Fixes any issues.

I'm American and been watching Eastenders since 1985 so I got it...🙌👏
To clarify just how amazing Bemini's rise from the first week has been, imagine if Kalorie Karbdashian Williams had gone on to win the most challenges and make the finale after sending Vanjie home in the first lipsync on Season 10, becoming the favorite to win over Aquaria. That's essentially what Bemini has accomplished, and that's incredible.
Headpieces are actually pretty common with panto dames, so Lawrence's sewing machine headpiece fits the category perfectly.
The U.K.ness of this episode would b hard for Americans to grasp the iconic moments from EastEnders ranged from famous soap moments from the 1990s to now, it's been going on for like 40 years now so so many iconic moments shown by the girls here so I guessed a lot of it would be missed by the US fans. and then a panto dame runway quintessential English camp. For a LONG time in British theatres history it was the ONLY widely accepted form of campiness. Even being being gay was illegal panto dames were accepted and were often the star of the show. It used to be played more by queer actors but now straight men play them too, it's like a camp, clown in Christmas fairytales and they are physically funny and do a lot of slapstick comedy for the kids sitting there but often panto dames say very adult naughty double entrendes and sexual innuendos which the adults often understand but the children don't. Bimini's look is inspired by Grayson Perry a famous modern British artist who is a proud crossdresser that is what he refers to himself as, as he is married to a woman is straight, but loves to dress up as his fantasy doll for his art appearances, he is such a cool artist. Och aye the noo means oh yeas just now , it's used as a way to mock the Scottish accent it doesn't have a meaning as such that would make it useful in everyday sentences it's similar equivalent when people say 'crumpets and tea' to mock the British or how rupaul says escandalo it's just a word or sentence that imitates a culture. Xx

I think they are tied when I went back and rated how well they did in each challenge. And I laughed at Lawrence’s final product for the acting challenge more personally.

I'm from London. The eastenders challenge was ICONIC! It's a huge part of our culture :)
Panto is also a huge deal in the UK and we grow up with it. Bob explained it pretty well, it's geared towards children and family fun. It's very slapstick and involves the audience a lot. It does also happen all year round when it comes to entertainers at holiday parks. And then there are big shows at Christmas time!

Shuga is criminally underutilized/underrated. She gives winner vibes and could have gone all the way in season 11 if they would actually had given her the time of day.
I’m not really a fan of Ellie but the way people are reacting to her is a bit over the top. The fact people are sending the queens death threats because of their actions on a tv show is honestly dumbfounding.
I think a lot of fans mostly younger ones really think the show is real and I don't blame them for getting so emotionally invested in seeing these kindred spirits on tv but to send death threats is horrible
@@Prince_the_One Yeah, sometimes I don’t blame them because the show is filmed to be emotional and grabbing but sending death threats is never okay, and it’s happening so much more often with queens, it’s so heartbreaking.

The Kat Slater and Zoe Slater storyline in Eastender is super Iconic. Basically Zoe wanted to move to Spain with the person (who was her uncle) who raped Kate when she was a teenager. He was Zoe's father. Zoe was btought up in the family as Kat's sister. It frightened Kat when Zoe said she was going to Spain with their uncle. Ending in that iconic scene
The worst moment of this episode was when Bob spun in her chair and we saw the wig from all sides. BURN IT!
Having objects incorporated into wigs for Panto dames is an absolute staple!! I can see why Bob wouldn't like it, but it is incredibly accurate to the category
Everyone talking like it's Ellie's fault that Awhora went home. Ellie picked the order but the queens acts is what put them in the top or bottom. I completely saw Awhora on the final 4 instead of Ellie, but blaming Ellie for Awhora's performance or the producer's choices isn't right.
Its cowardly. It's the production and rupaul who makes all the real decisions, but the queens would never openly blame them. So, they are taking out their frustrations on Ellie. It's never a cute look.

@@isishowison3514 That is a very NYC reference. Dr. Zizmor was a dermatologist here. He had all these garish adverts on the subways with his picture that featured testimonials from happy customers. The tagline on the ads was always "Thank you Dr. Zizmor!" I think only people from the New York Metro area would get that reference! He retired a few years ago so the ads are no more, sadly.

I have absolutely no idea what a Panto is even after the episode.
I've never heard of Panto in my life, and I have never seen a single show of it! And I live in Europe, too! It seems so UK specific that not many non-Brits have a clue if you ask them, I think! I mean every country has their own Christmas habits and traditions and they stay within those during the Holidays season. I’ve never even visited the UK but I’ve always known the panto tradition. I’m actually surprised that anyone who is into theatre and performance isn’t familiar with pantomime! I think we used to have a panto show shown on TV here in Australia called ‘The Old Bull and Bush’ which I loved as a kid in the 70’s and 80’s. Fun memories 😁

Tayce didn’t do a panto dame. In pantos, there’s almost always a fairy character that acts as a narrator/fairy godmother throughout, so she was emulating that pretty well imo.
I mean sure but her costume reference was a complete miss. Since she copied a Kylie Minogue John Galliano showgirl costume instead of taking inspiration from actual panto.

Honestly Eastenders used to have the wildest story lines. One time Ronnie Mitchell's baby died so she swapped it for Kat and Alfies and they found out like Months later. Kat Slater was always my fave character, can't believe she's still going😅
I live in the US but I am from the UK and yes, Eastenders was OFF THE RAILS in the 80s and 90s lmao. General Hospital and Days of Our Lives in the US used to be the same but have kind of tamed lol. They showed Eastenders on American television in the 80s and 90s (not sure if they still do) but were like a season or two behind, but when we'd go back to visit fam in Wales and I'd watch I always thought "General Hospital wishes. This shit is truly wild."

I agree. For me it was definitely among the strongest acting challenges we've seen. Though I'm Irish so would be more familiar with the references than a typical American.
I’m Dutch and I loved it. I’ve never seen Eastenders, but soap operas here are similar and they get parodied here a lot, so I could easily see where they wanted to go with the challenge.

As a Brit, love hearing Bob do the cultural translation. One key thing is that it is about comedy retellings of classic fairy tales. (or iconic stories like Peter Pan)
-The key roles are cross dressed, not just the dame, so there is usually a Prince played by a woman too.

Finally you guys can understand what it's like for people outside of America, we watch Drag Race US and half the stuff is completely over our heads. I've started re-watching old season with an American and have to say it completely changes things. Luckily she has me to translate the UK one too, sometimes literally.
Bob's wig looks like: if a teenage girl bleached her hair, then thought she was doing something bold with a partially dyed moment, and instead of re-dying it all again to fix it after realizing it was bad, she just left it. And now her natural brunette roots are starting to creep back. When she needs to be "presentable" she'll 80s crimp and bump it a little bit just to double down on the whole "bold" presentation, when in reality she's only replaced her embarrassment of the hair with fashion *burp* delusion.
