Well done Trek. Finally there is a good light that does not blend other riders or cars. 👍

Lol so 'Kindbeam' is basically a low beam headlight like you'd find in a car. Oh boy, I can't wait to show you guys how I converted my basic bike light to low beams by angling it downwards! Well done, Trek, you've outdone yourself once again.

What you’re doing is decreasing throw by lowering the hotspot of your beam so much that the spill doesn’t cause glare for oncoming traffic. Lights with a distinct cutoff allows you to aim the hotspot farther down the road while redirecting the spill above the hotspot down low which in turn provides more lumen where you need it.

I'm not sure why you are complaining about this. As far as I know, no one else has done this on a bike light, and as someone who commutes nightly by bike, I am grateful for it. I might be handing them out to my fellow night commuters on the trails as early X-Mas gifts 🎄🎁

Kudos to Trek/Bontrager for this light. Cutoff beams are all about safety for urban road riding. I'm considering for purchase the Commuter Pro RT, as well as the Detour from Outbound Lighting.

I've been using Ravemen lights for a while now and they are STVZO approved. The beam has a cut off so that you don't blind incoming traffic or pedestrians. nothing revolutionary. Should have been in use long time ago.

It would be a good upgrade of ION Pro RT, but: significantly less battery capacity and light times. only 2 modes for lights and only one for flashing. So I need to skip this model hopping you will introduce new model with ANT+ and USB-C.

For $70 (for the front light) after doing some research. Maybe a bit out of some budgets but hopefully worth the few extra bucks out of budget. It looks like that to me
(For me a good middle for price & quality/battery/lumens is $40-$60)
The trek has 450LMs on high with 1.5hrs.
    200LMs low for 6hrs (I like that)
300 lumens day flash for 12 hours.
So a bit out of budget for me but seems worth it considering the built in low beam technology

    1. Why do you not clearly show anywhere how the HighBeam beam is different from KindBeam? This is an important point that I only got to know at my local store.
    2. Lamp as a powerbank - ok, but not at the expense of the inability to connect the power bank to a working lamp to extend the relatively short working time. 200RT, ION Pro RT could do that. If the battery were removable, there would be no topic. I would carry the other one in my pocket. Real shame.
