I have had Xyron machines for years but seldom used them because I hated the sticky spider web that was left behind. Now after watching your videos I am using the xyron for all my projects that need to be glued. Thank you! You are a life saver!!!

I am beyond thrilled with this video. I put my Xyron machines up years ago because I could not handle the webs. And the liquid glue...a nightmare! I have been card making for more than 20 years and have used many Xyron machines. This is the best tip of the year for me. I like using intricate dies and always struggle with adhering them to my cards. Thank You!!!!
Hi Missy. I saw the other video last night and tried this with a spellbinder Platinum 6 and it worked great. My sandwich was White base plate, tan embossing mat (it's silicone like the purple gemini one) , then the die cut face down, and then the blue embossing plate. Truly thank you for figuring this out for us. I have had this problem with xyrons for at least 15 years and you solved it in 15 minutes.
This is amazing! I just tried this in my sizzix big shot foldaway but instead of an intricate die I used your technique with lace trim that I ran thru my xyron. It worked perfectly as well. No webs or sticky glue in the lace openings. Its magic wizardry! Thank you so much!!!

Game changer when I saw the Marquis. I just tried it while watching you. I doubled a piece of 65 pound paper in the folder in place of the rubber mat and it worked. I wish I could give 1000 thumbs up.
I just had to come back again and tell you how much I am LOVING this hack!!! I tried it right after I found this video and commented that it was "life changing" as far as adhering intricate pieces. I had to come back in the middle of the intricate card I am making to tell you that once again....I'm MADLY in love with this and my Creative Station that I put away long ago because all it did was cause me frustration is now one of my best friends in my craft room!!! I just got done adhering a super intricate cut cover plate that would have taken me forever to put glue on and then I'd have to hope it didn't turn out messy when I put it on my card base. Doing it this way with your hack; it adhered in just moments with absolutely no adhesive bits to be found!! You are my hero without a doubt!!!! Thank you again!!!

Love this! I bought a 5 inch Xyron to make adhering fine die cuts like scripty sentiments easier and less messy and make the final product look better. But I was so disappointed by that web mess that I almost never use it. Now I can use it and remove that mess every time! Thank you!

I'm so glad that I ran across your video! This is such a simple way to solve such a big problem. Xyron machines are wonderful, but putting in all the time to make sure you've gone over the entire die cut before trying to use it is torture. I've tried to find other ways to make it easier, but nothing really worked well.I think my old Cuttlebug might be perfect for this. I'm so glad that I held on to it. This is absolutely BRILLIANT!!! I've been fighting those dratted paper "hairs" for years and am so anxious to get the Gemini embossing mat so I can try it. I love my Xyron but the little dickens has given me hours of frustration trying to get clean die cuts affixed to my cards...this will be a game changer for me! I WISH I had seen this tip before I made all of my holiday cards! I grumbled and muttered and probably swore more than I would have liked trying to get all those glue pieces out of my die cuts. I've had my Xyron for years and stopped using it because of that but one of my die cuts was so intricate that I thought I could muddle through. I was miserable at the end. @@pattibaileydesigns oh yes, Xyron made some machines that the carrier sheet actually separates inside the machine. So when your die cut or sticker comes out the other side, it doesn’t have a carrier sheet on it. I had one and it was terrible. 😂 Now the machines can actually be used with intricate dies because I figured out how to finally make it work. Thank you so much for sharing this video. I have had a xyron machine for years and years and have hardly used it because of how it had all the web. Got it out today and tried it out. I have tried it on my old cuttle bug and it worked well. Let's hope when I run out of tape they still have the tapes for this old machine.

I actually tried this out on my Diamond Press machine for the first time today. I am very pleased! I do have the pretty CC purple embossing mat, but I also have the older black one so I thought I'd cut it up first. I have never used the embossing mats on my Gemini because I've always been happy with the embossing that happens just from the die cutting stage. I'm lazy and hate having to go through all the steps involved to get what they consider true embossing, so cutting up the mat didn't bother me at all. Thanks again for this great idea! 😊

This was such a game changer. I have the very old Zyron 900 model, 5” Sticker Maker along with the Mini Sticker Maker and the little hand held “X” type. I used my Sizzix Big Shot machine with the base plate (mine has 2 tabs) with all tabs closed, a cutting plate, the Sizzix silicone rubber pad and impression pad (I believe they are sold as a set). I worked great!! This is so much easier than using double sided sticky sheets on the back of the cardstock before cutting them out. I always had trouble with the backs peeling off before I was ready to use them or if they didn’t cut correctly then there was waste. You have saved my Zyron machines from having to live in the landfill and for that I thank you. Great tips. I subscribed!!

Missy, I am still amazed by this! I appreciate all the tests on the various machines. One other thing I wanted to tell you and you may know this already, but Jennifer McGuire has posted a video about flattening out our cutting plates. It's genius just like she is. She had suggestions from her husband too who is an engineer. I don't think we'll have to buy cutting pads again!

Yes. I have the thin mat too and same manual machine. Several Xyrons that I rarely use anymore. I will be trying this method. I’m going to order a Gemini embossing mat but I will try with Sizzix mat too. For whatever reason I have to wait a week or more for the Gemini mat so I might as well try it with the embossing mats I have on hand. Super excited. 🙏🏾 Thank you ☺️ Missy!

I saw the other video and did some experimenting; but the basic principle is the same. The secret is the rubber embossing mat! Thanks for the work you did to present this. As the multitude of comments indicates, we've all had that love/HATE relationship with our Xyron machines... so glad to finally be able to use it for what it always should have done the best, the intricate die-cuts! Love/LOVE!

Thank you for sharing this hack. I saw the one for the Gemini, but I don't have that machine, so this was much appreciated as I have two of the machines you showed in this video. I have the tiny Xyron and what I hate the most is picking out the glue webs. The Xyron is one of the tools I'd love to use more and now I know I will use it more.
Just played using a 12 inch intricate Quickutz border die with my Sizzix Switch with the same sandwich as you used for the Big Kick. Worked beautifully! And strangely the embossing mat would slide as it went through so the 9 inch actually covered the 12 inches! This technique is a game changer for me!

I’m so happy this is going to make things so much easier for you! That adhesive is so hard to mess with. I always tried to rub it off or de- web it with a pokey tool. It was a disaster and it kept me from using a lot of my beautiful dies. This just makes it so much easier. 🥰

Just ordered the embossing mat as I have all the sizes of xyron machines (1-1/2, 3", 5", creative station) but hated the webs left! I am currently doing a scrapbook layout (I'm not a card maker :)) involving snowflakes and trying to figure out how to adhere them without messing with glue or having the "webs" left. Thank you for sharing this wonderful tip! I don’t have any of those die cutting machines but you have inspired me to come up with something that will work for my situation.
You can get the same effect by just using a bone folder and burnishing your die cut really well before peeling off that clear film. I've been doing that for years, anytime I use a Xyron. I think the directions will tell you to burnish well before peeling apart. That greatly reduces the webby, stringy, sticky "extra" stuff.
I wish I had seen this video a month ago before I started glueing an intricate background dye to all of my holiday cards. I used liquid glue. Ugh! That was an exercise in patience for sure. I have a Marquise and extra Gemini embossing shims. I need to go try this right now. Thanks.

wow missy...i was just about to give up on my little sticker makers because my intricate dies were gluey and messy! i burned a hole in my amazon gift card buying a creation station and refills. my sandwich was the: sizzix big shot express electronic machine, magnetic platform base, magic mat, silicone mat, xyron sticker, glitter plate----worked like a charm ;) i have joint issues so this is absoutely wonderful, you are amazing my dear!!😇

OMG!!! This video is such a blessing to a whole bunch of us out here. I hate those webs. I was using the pokey tool to poke the webs out. It was a total mess. TYSM for sharing this simple solution. Now we can all use our Xyron stations and have no more webs. I shall purchase an additional Gemini purple mat & I'll hit the road and glue down intricate dies with no webs!! :) Happy New Year's to you.

I got a large one when looking for machines, because it will take a full 8.5 x 11 sheet. Have you ever tried rubbing a bone folder over the top of the die cut after running through your Xyron? I've done that for years and it gets the messy leftover adhesive off easily and quickly. This is a great tip, but seems like an extra step I'd like to avoid if possible. I've watched a dew of your videos and love your ideas. New subscriber for sure! Thank you!
Yes, I have tested that with super intricate dies I just don’t prefer doing it that way. I know it seems like an extra step but it actually saves me so much time. My hands would actually cramp and draw up on me if I was making a lot of cards using a bone folder. My hands do that. Hi Missy. I saw the other video last night and tried this with a spellbinder Platinum 6 and it worked great. My sandwich was White base plate, tan embossing mat (it's silicone like the purple gemini one) , then the die cut face down, and then the blue embossing plate. Truly thank you for figuring this out for us. I have had this problem with xyrons for at least 15 years and you solved it in 15 minutes.

This is amazing! I just tried this in my sizzix big shot foldaway but instead of an intricate die I used your technique with lace trim that I ran thru my xyron. It worked perfectly as well. No webs or sticky glue in the lace openings. Its magic wizardry! Thank you so much!!!

Game changer when I saw the Marquis. I just tried it while watching you. I doubled a piece of 65 pound paper in the folder in place of the rubber mat and it worked. I wish I could give 1000 thumbs up.

I just had to come back again and tell you how much I am LOVING this hack!!! I tried it right after I found this video and commented that it was "life changing" as far as adhering intricate pieces. I had to come back in the middle of the intricate card I am making to tell you that once again....I'm MADLY in love with this and my Creative Station that I put away long ago because all it did was cause me frustration is now one of my best friends in my craft room!!! I just got done adhering a super intricate cut cover plate that would have taken me forever to put glue on and then I'd have to hope it didn't turn out messy when I put it on my card base. Doing it this way with your hack; it adhered in just moments with absolutely no adhesive bits to be found!! You are my hero without a doubt!!!! Thank you again!!!

Love this! I bought a 5 inch Xyron to make adhering fine die cuts like scripty sentiments easier and less messy and make the final product look better. But I was so disappointed by that web mess that I almost never use it. Now I can use it and remove that mess every time! Thank you!

I'm so glad that I ran across your video! This is such a simple way to solve such a big problem. Xyron machines are wonderful, but putting in all the time to make sure you've gone over the entire die cut before trying to use it is torture. I've tried to find other ways to make it easier, but nothing really worked well.I think my old Cuttlebug might be perfect for this. I'm so glad that I held on to it. I WISH I had seen this tip before I made all of my holiday cards! I grumbled and muttered and probably swore more than I would have liked trying to get all those glue pieces out of my die cuts. I've had my Xyron for years and stopped using it because of that but one of my die cuts was so intricate that I thought I could muddle through. I was miserable at the end. @@pattibaileydesigns oh yes, Xyron made some machines that the carrier sheet actually separates inside the machine. So when your die cut or sticker comes out the other side, it doesn’t have a carrier sheet on it. I had one and it was terrible. 😂 Now the machines can actually be used with intricate dies because I figured out how to finally make it work. Thank you so much for sharing this video. I have had a xyron machine for years and years and have hardly used it because of how it had all the web. Got it out today and tried it out. I have tried it on my old cuttle bug and it worked well. Let's hope when I run out of tape they still have the tapes for this old machine.

I actually tried this out on my Diamond Press machine for the first time today. I am very pleased! I do have the pretty CC purple embossing mat, but I also have the older black one so I thought I'd cut it up first. I have never used the embossing mats on my Gemini because I've always been happy with the embossing that happens just from the die cutting stage. I'm lazy and hate having to go through all the steps involved to get what they consider true embossing, so cutting up the mat didn't bother me at all. Thanks again for this great idea! 😊

This was such a game changer. I have the very old Zyron 900 model, 5” Sticker Maker along with the Mini Sticker Maker and the little hand held “X” type. I used my Sizzix Big Shot machine with the base plate (mine has 2 tabs) with all tabs closed, a cutting plate, the Sizzix silicone rubber pad and impression pad (I believe they are sold as a set). I worked great!! This is so much easier than using double sided sticky sheets on the back of the cardstock before cutting them out. I always had trouble with the backs peeling off before I was ready to use them or if they didn’t cut correctly then there was waste. You have saved my Zyron machines from having to live in the landfill and for that I thank you. Great tips. I subscribed!!

Missy, I am still amazed by this! I appreciate all the tests on the various machines. One other thing I wanted to tell you and you may know this already, but Jennifer McGuire has posted a video about flattening out our cutting plates. It's genius just like she is. She had suggestions from her husband too who is an engineer. I don't think we'll have to buy cutting pads again!

I can't imagine the amount of specialty cards to keep and Xyron adhesive that you went through (not to mention all of the Gemini embossing mats that you cut up) Throw in your time to figure it all out, record the process, edit the video and upload it. That is quite incredible! I just subscribed!

Yes. I have the thin mat too and same manual machine. Several Xyrons that I rarely use anymore. I will be trying this method. I’m going to order a Gemini embossing mat but I will try with Sizzix mat too. For whatever reason I have to wait a week or more for the Gemini mat so I might as well try it with the embossing mats I have on hand. Super excited. 🙏🏾 Thank you ☺️ Missy!

I saw the other video and did some experimenting; but the basic principle is the same. The secret is the rubber embossing mat! Thanks for the work you did to present this. As the multitude of comments indicates, we've all had that love/HATE relationship with our Xyron machines... so glad to finally be able to use it for what it always should have done the best, the intricate die-cuts! Love/LOVE!

I have the tiny Xyron and what I hate the most is picking out the glue webs. The Xyron is one of the tools I'd love to use more and now I know I will use it more.

Just played using a 12 inch intricate Quickutz border die with my Sizzix Switch with the same sandwich as you used for the Big Kick. Worked beautifully! And strangely the embossing mat would slide as it went through so the 9 inch actually covered the 12 inches! This technique is a game changer for me!

I’m so happy this is going to make things so much easier for you! That adhesive is so hard to mess with. I always tried to rub it off or de- web it with a pokey tool. It was a disaster and it kept me from using a lot of my beautiful dies. This just makes it so much easier. 🥰

I didn't try it with the Diamond Press Marquis as I hate hate their folders, as the buckle so so quickly . I love love my mini gemini. I was going outside and using spray adhesive. For my spellbinder platinum 6 I used platform, glimmer machine thin shim, die, Gemini jr embossing mat, spellbinders embossing plate. Worked great!!!

Just ordered the embossing mat as I have all the sizes of xyron machines (1-1/2, 3", 5", creative station) but hated the webs left! I am currently doing a scrapbook layout (I'm not a card maker :)) involving snowflakes and trying to figure out how to adhere them without messing with glue or having the "webs" left. I have the Big Shot so I am anxious to try it out tomorrow when the embossing mat comes from amazon! Thank you - can't wait to try this hack!!

I didn't have any of the cellowrap yet (still need to purchase) but I used a single layer of the cellophane envelope that the embossing mat came in (cut to size) and it worked perfectly and removed all of the extra glue web!! You can get the same effect by just using a bone folder and burnishing your die cut really well before peeling off that clear film. I've been doing that for years, anytime I use a Xyron. I think the directions will tell you to burnish well before peeling apart. That greatly reduces the webby, stringy, sticky "extra" stuff.
I wish I had seen this video a month ago before I started glueing an intricate background dye to all of my holiday cards. I used liquid glue. Ugh! That was an exercise in patience for sure. I have a Marquise and extra Gemini embossing shims. I need to go try this right now. Thanks.

wow missy...i was just about to give up on my little sticker makers because my intricate dies were gluey and messy! i burned a hole in my amazon gift card buying a creation station and refills. my sandwich was the: sizzix big shot express electronic machine, magnetic platform base, magic mat, silicone mat, xyron sticker, glitter plate----worked like a charm ;) i have joint issues so this is absoutely wonderful, you are amazing my dear!!😇

OMG!!! This video is such a blessing to a whole bunch of us out here. I hate those webs. I was using the pokey tool to poke the webs out. It was a total mess. TYSM for sharing this simple solution. Now we can all use our Xyron stations and have no more webs. I shall purchase an additional Gemini purple mat & I'll hit the road and glue down intricate dies with no webs!! :) Happy New Year's to you.

I got a large one when looking for machines, because it will take a full 8.5 x 11 sheet. I have the full size Gemini machine and the Xyron machine and also the Marquis by Diamond Press, which is my go-to machine when I'm in a hurry or only cutting smaller items. Have you ever tried rubbing a bone folder over the top of the die cut after running through your Xyron? I've done that for years and it gets the messy leftover adhesive off easily and quickly. This is a great tip, but seems like an extra step I'd like to avoid if possible. I've watched a dew of your videos and love your ideas. New subscriber for sure! Thank you!
Yes, I have tested that with super intricate dies I just don’t prefer doing it that way. I know it seems like an extra step but it actually saves me so much time. My hands would actually cramp and draw up on me if I was making a lot of cards using a bone folder. My hands do that.
