Out of all the segments in Creepshow, this is the one that unhinged and terrified me the most. I remember watching this when I was 12 and being terrified to touch anything, the idea of touching something and then being taken over from the outside in disturbed me. Now watching/reading this, I wish I could of enjoyed how goofy Steven King made the character. Thank you for uploading this.
This is my favorite story because of the plot kinda but mostly because I love the setting in that story and the lighting was really well done. Gives me like a oldie nostalgic creepy vibe to it. The green lights with the dark night is really what got me. Also come on hes watching some good ole Wrasslin on the TV, whats not to love?
This is a truly meaningful life lesson. When that deep stern voice from your core warns you about something , Even if it's just a fleeting whisper : STOP WTF YOU'RE DOING PAY ATTENTION AND INSTANTLY OBEY YOUR SURVIVAL INSTINCTS. There are 6 million years of it in your limbric brain and your entire nervous system. Listen and live.
I think Jordy’s death was more graphic in the comic than the film. Seeing his one eyeball visible, and then seeing all the splattered green plant goo on the wall that’s now his blood.
It shows how dull Verrill was, the meteor being broken would have not made any difference to it's value, lol. and it would have been worrht way more than $200
Got shocked first time I ever watched this story on TV back in late 80'S, as I discovered this gem of a movie. Notably the one and main reason I rented "Creepshow" in a VHS store some years later back in 1997; got lucky enough to find out a copy inside. On those years, I couldn't download the movie yet and had not recorded It either first time being boradcasted on TV for me.
the one thing I never got about this story in Creepshow is what did Jordy think the drink he was chugging and saying "needed that" would do, did he think it would get rid of the weeds? :/
I've always assumed the alien growth requires water to grow, therefore he would be expected to be super thirsty when it got inside him. Thanks for stopping by, and be sure to check out my other Creepshow videos when the lights are out.
bob Last Also, the end kicker of the story is the weather broadcast of rain, which leaves the viewer knowing the alien life form is going to spread across the country fields rapidly. This is a great story on so many levels. It taps into our fear of being invaded... fear of dying alone... and worse, knowing there is no hope and you have to take your own life. Genuinely creepy stuff. Plus, alien invasion combined with physical invasion...real fears we all have. see ya!
I thought myself he was seeing things, which was why he was saying NO over and over again. Anyway, he decides to make a screwdriver (that is vodka and OJ) to calm his nerves. -
jordy just wanted to get as drunk as possible to forget what was happening to him for a while. people who are about to face a terrible fate often do that
i just remember my mom saying "don't do it" and then him growing stuff on him and then just this green blob saying something in a char completely straight at the camera and it zoomed out of the house and turned down a long straight road going nowhere. i felt sorry 4 tha guy and no, i don't remember him shooting his head off... no, not at all.
at 10:16 we can see that even his brain was infected by the plant...so i have a question: why he can still think and know how to use a shotgun instead of being a mindless being? i mean, his brain got infected...

Just had a crazy meteor sighting over Ohio last night, witnessed by dozens of folks and it even made the news. My friend saw it and said it was huge GREEN fireball! If I was in that same miserable position Jordy was in towards the end, I would've killed myself too. Not to mention the alien stuff made him physically no longer human.

The Creep looks a lot like the Crypt Keeper, but I think that's the point. I think that Creepshow was INSPIRED by the real-life horror comic, "Tales from the Crypt"!
Neori it would've made him itch in pain until death.and he couldn't see so maybe more worse side effects like blindness.long story short.he would've lived horribly not knowing where he was with hallucinations.atleast he offed himself before it got worse...poor guy
Yep, thanks to his stupidity cause all he was seeing was dollar signs when seeing that meteor when his first instinct should’ve been to just leave it alone.
One of the best, yet the saddest of the Creepshow stories.

200 dollars? for a broken meteor? mr verrill, you must be joking!
Arse Robinson I think he might give him a few cents if they could glue it together.

Wrightson is one of the best horror artists of all time. I would love to have him do an original piece for me. Could never afford it tho :(
This video was just brilliantly made! Thank you
Thanks for the upload! I like reading the original comic book and the music works well with it too.

Jordy never had a change anyway, the vegetation just too powerful.
$200 for a meteor? Cone on, dude! It was broken! It’s too bad your daddy couldn’t show up and send you a warning before you approached that meteor!
He didn't get confronted by a mirror when he walked to the meteor

“Oh, Jordy Verrill, you lunkhead!”
you would get way more than 200 for a meteor. maybe 2k at the lowest

Is 'Creepshow' truly based off of a horror comic? I'm guessing it isn't but they did a good job recreating the comic if not.
