I‘m an absolute sci-fi fan and also love romantic story telling. I was not bored once in the entire 2 hours. It was empathic, heartbreaking sometimes and even exciting. 9/10 for the movie. 10/10 for the music. 10/10 if they had their kids welcome the awakening crew.

Or they could have just slept for half years one by one eventually ending up at the same age at the end...
Their age would have been :
      Present age + 88/2
So maybe in this way they could have made it to the Planet alive.
( however, living alone for 44 yrs would be very tough 💀)

Most people these days don’t know what a good movie is. I often hear comments like, “it was so boring I turned it off after 15 minutes”. 😂 If all you’re giving is 15 minutes, you’ve got other issues than poor taste in movies.

Exactly ! That's how the space movies should be made. Without some stupid spiders coming out of their mouth ! I like the surprise ending, when the inside of spaceship was like in a Garden of Eden ;-)
Why so many violent and scaring movies these days anyway ? At the first, people do not realize and it is proven, that all television broadcasting is leaving Earth and are transmitted into outer space, where an advanced civilizations have the ability to see our violent broadcasts and see us humans as an aggressive behavior species, which is bad for our presentation and also in the hope that we will ever meet them.

309 eyers sleeps Story of the seven Sleepers in the Cave in The Holy book Quran:
[The youths said to one another], "And when you have withdrawn from them and that which they worship other than Allah , retreat to the cave. Your Lord will spread out for you of His mercy and will prepare for you from your affair facility."
      (Chapter 18 verse no 16)
And [had you been present], you would see the sun when it rose, inclining away from their cave on the right, and when it set, passing away from them on the left, while they were [laying] within an open space thereof. That was from the signs of Allah . He whom Allah guides is the [rightly] guided, but he whom He leaves astray - never will you find for him a protecting guide.(18:17)
And you would think them awake, while they were asleep. And We turned them to the right and to the left, while their dog stretched his forelegs at the entrance. If you had looked at them, you would have turned from them in flight and been filled by them with terror.(18:18)
And similarly, We awakened them that they might question one another. Said a speaker from among them, "How long have you remained [here]?" They said, "We have remained a day or part of a day." They said, "Your Lord is most knowing of how long you remained. So send one of you with this silver coin of yours to the city and let him look to which is the best of food and bring you provision from it and let him be cautious. And let no one be aware of you. (18:19)

***** As if not knowing the ending is the only thing you have to worry about. The point of a film is to enjoy the journey that the characters go on, watching this trailer, it feels like you can piece together whats going to happen and in what order. Could i be wrong? Of course (hopefully i am), but trailers now a days have been showing way too much and judging by what was shown here, this seems to be guilty of the same

Because movies like this have character development, the story/content is great, great acting. The Marvel movies they violate every law in physics for their movies, this is much much more realistic, and has lessons human civilization can learn from. I am making the upcoming documentary called Antimatter Future, I uploaded a trailer in 2016 it has lots of dislikes ppl even hate my videos claiming Earth is round im sure ppl are just messing with me media seems rigged. I am redoing the first trailer I made that has over 3k views because I did rush it to have something to show progress on the film incase ppl would help towards the film to get it made sooner. people hate on me because im not rich I don't have a dental plan, not many people really want to help me so I struggle paycheck to paycheck. little do people know im working on a documentary to save the planet, and sustain human civilization from a path of destruction, slowly but surely I'll finish it before Avatar 2 I hope. do people seem to care? nope even as our planet gets crisis after crisis. I got most filming done just need to narrate and finish some more 3D animations. I am saving tens of thousands of dollars by making the film myself. I will be having an extra part mentioning my story how society left me to fail in making the film, people are counter productive literally ppl promote lies I prove wrong with science from NASA.
Sorry for the long text but if you wanna know why critics have bad reviews on good movies, lol they abandoned the truth long ago. In my documentary Overpriced I uploaded in 2016 I talked about how media undermine the truth, notice no media source is letting people know about my film? what about fairness other films that are shit gets lots of support LOL

the hugest issue i find with the movie is the ending, i so looked forward to seeing the crews and passengers reactions to the world they woke to on the ship as it was changed by our "couple" ...knowing they died by finding evidence of it and of course... they where alone for so so very long... i would have loved it more if their children greeted the crew... and welcomed them "home" i even watched for an after credit scene of it, but nothing... love the movie, love the couple and the fact they found each other and made it work in the end... was happily tearful... just wish we could have met their kids... and possibly their grand kids...

Saludos

That's probably because of the film's fuckton of production problems.
      From NEW YORK DAILY NEWS:
*“Production has been grappling with budget problems because of the pricey space suit costumes which cost $20,000 to create and design,” says our source, “There has also been various creative differences and disagreements with one of the producers, and glaring similarities to the movie Titanic which the studio is worried makes Passengers feel more like a parody than a good love story set in an abandoned space milieu.”*
*We hear there’s even a line in the script in a scene between Lawrence and Pratt in which she tells him “If you die, I die,” which has been causing stifled laughter throughout the set during filming.*
*“It’s been a lot of headaches and problems,” says our source. “A documentary about the making of this movie would be better than this actual movie.”*
*Our source adds that Sony is being really careful about overspending on costumes and wasting money, and have become “frugal.” “The whole thing is chaotic,” says our source.*
*Lawrence and Pratt are being paid a pretty penny for the blockbuster, with Pratt making a cool $12 million and Lawrence raking in $20 million plus 30 percent of the box office after the movie breaks even.*

the food stored in ship for 3000 members about 1 month.
      3000*3*30=270000.
so 270000-87600=182400 will be remaining plates of food to people.
182400/3000=60.8 the remaining food divided among people they can have 60 plates of food during 1 month.
60//2=30 so all people can live having 2 meals per day for a month.
they will definitely reach new planet.

Studios are dumb anyway the greatest movie of all time the shawshank redemption was a flop at its time and didn't make enough money while it's literally the greatest classics of all time and my favorite movie so

The critics don't say a movie's a flop; the box office numbers say *whether* it's a flop. The critics say it's a bad movie: derivative and predictable. The audience polled said it was B, so some may have liked it, but on average not very good.
EDIT: As stated above it made $300M on a budget of $100M so is a success.

The 120 year Journey at 0.5 of Light Speed would cause Time Dilation for the Ship, Passengers and Crew. While 120 years will have passed for them over 138.56 years will have passed both on Earth and at Homestead II. The faster one approaches Light speed the greater is the Time Dilation. Great Movie to watch especially during the isolation of Covid-19 restrictions. Arthur is my favorite character. Wish I had a friend like him.

That final line in the trailer had me believing that the movie would be love, a mystery, and saving the people story. Not just a love story with them having to save the ship in the process. I wanted to see them figure out why they were woken up and then find out they had to save the ship while the love story was a sort of side thing. Not Chris Pratt's character waking up the girl after he woke up on accident because he was madly in love with her and was lonely and then the whole ship starts blowing up.
