You can make a slightly better version of the same thing. Instead of cutting it straight off square, drill a hole through the tube with the right size holesaw to match the aero bar size both sides, then saw through the middle of the hole to make a tube with a semi circlular indent each end to sit between the bars. You can tape it in position, or drill a couple of small holes through the opposite way and use a cable tie to mount it
Cracking hack. Out of interest What battery do you use to charge your exposure light? Struggling to find one that doesn’t switch off after a couple of mins
Thank you. Funny you should ask that. I've just tested an Anker 737 Powerbank to see if it would work for an upcoming event. It worked, so with a full charge of the battery I could have almost 90 hours of light (on low mode!). The battery is quite big (600g 24,000mAh) but charges in about an hour and fits in my toptube bag. The Six Pack is 15,500mAh which may be why it works? It is currently on offer on Amazon. Cheaper than a dynamo setup which is an area I've not yet ventured into. But with the ability to charge a Powerbank so quickly I'm not sure I'd need to unless I was going somewhere so remote there was nothing for days.
@@CycleXplorerI’ve been looking at that one too, just seems heavy! But can’t seem to find anything lighter and don’t really fancy buying/returning 10 different batteries when the anker one works. Cheers
@@Sklows340 in the grand scheme of the whole set up I don’t think it’s a huge weight and probably lighter than a dynamo set up? If it lets you go for longer without worrying or stopping that’s a win for me

Thats a big old light 😮
You flatter me.
It’s big but the best bit is its 36 hour runtime on its low setting which is still rather sun like!
