So this was my full Farfetch buying experience! Honest, unsponsored, and ultimately… not too upset I guess. Would I have preferred to have no issues from the start and been saved some stress? Yes. But I think the resolved it alright. However in regards to the bag… Oof, should I keep it even though I also want to buy the wristlet?? Is it okay to own both?? (Will I ever figure out my hair?? 😅)

This is a GREAT video - there DOES need to be more conversation about Farfetch and other sites from consumers and not sponsored youtubers. I take sponsored videos with a huge grain of salt. Farfetch is a huge hit and miss. Some orders, great. Fast, packaged, good pricing. Other times, the box is damaged, the ITEM is damaged, or paperwork is missing. My mum ordered a pair of Dolce and Gabbana shoes and they were completely broken. So i dont know... I will continue being a customer, but I am sick of seeing sponsored videos that are not reality

Thanks for the update, it's nice to have the experience from a real customer. I have both the YSL wristlet and the camera bag. These items are different in terms of use, the wrislet is great for an evening out, but not very practical for everyday use, even if you turn it into a crossbody. The camera bag is fabulous as a day bag! If I was you, I'll return this one, buy a black or a neutral one instead and get the wrislet! These 2 items complement each other.

I'm glad to hear Farfetch was able to resolve the issue to your satisfaction. As for the YSL mini lou camera bag, it is SUCH a practical bag that really transitions well from day to night. I personally own one and I have to say, I always catch myself reaching for it! It is gorgeous, fits so much, durable, dressy yet casual (if that even makes sense haha), lightweight, classic shape, and the list goes on. That green color is so pretty and looks great on you. I hope you decide to keep this green camera bag. :)

I think you should do what feels right for you - these items are expensive and at the end of the day it’s your money. I am also new to luxury so I feel your reluctance to overspend. I think you made the right call returning this bag, especially if you’re wanting the wristlet more and would use it more. Definitely buy the wristlet. It’s slightly more versatile because you can wear it a few different ways. It’s SO easy to convert it into a crossbody bag! However, I’m very happy to hear that Farfetch was able to give you a solution that you felt satisfied with.
Yes, either way, I’m glad that Farfetch responded the way that they did, in the end! It has really helped not leave a bad taste in my mouth when thinking about buying from them again.
Absolutely love this video and your take on the Mini Lou vs the clutch. Covid has definitely changed my views and perspective on my luxury buying. I’m by no means a minimalist, but I’ve definitely purged my bag collection and Joe spend time thinking before making new purchases. Do I really need this item? Will I use it? Is it going to just sit on my shelves looking pretty. It’s such a refreshing outlook to now have.
Also imo as a YSL lover, I very much think that you’re making the right decision. The clutch is more versatile where as I’ve never liked the Mini Lou and do not think it’s worth the price point. Hat said I love the Medium Lou and have added 2 to my collection this year and am eyeing a third lol

I completely agree with you! I recently purchased Uggs from their (and although that doesn’t compare to your bag) the box came damaged, also the stitching on the right Ugg is messed up! Yes I got a $40 discount but with all the problems is it worth it? Farfetch specializing in luxury and designer goods needs to handle their customers purchases with care! If you’re buying an expensive item, it should be treated as such.
Great video! I actually recently bought the wristlet directly from the Saint Laurent boutique and I was not planning on opening until my birthday in December but I took it out the same day just to check and make sure everything was okay before having it stored. Glad I did because the strap was packaged in a way that would’ve bent had I waited to open it. I also noticed there was no tag or care booklet/authenticity inside so I immediately text my SA to let her know they were missing. I was surprised to learn from her that they no longer include that when you purchase in the boutique. Seemed weird to me but I didn’t question it since she offered to have them mailed to me if I’d like. Of course I asked if she could and I received it in the mail within a week. This was my first time buying an item from an actual boutique in over two years so I’m not sure if it was just my local one? I usually order all my YSL items online from different retailers and direct website and have always had items with the authenticity cards.

Re keeping the green bag- that´s for you and only you to decide! If it does not make your heart sing let it go. If you can honestly say you love it, keep it. The colour is gorgeous and it is a very different bag from the wristlet.
Of course you deserve to have as many bags as you like to have. You pay for them with your own money you do work hard for. Nobody has the right to judge the size of your collection!

I agree that the green color is amazing. I ended up getting a wallet on chain in that green color. It is beautiful. I also agree on getting the wristlet over the camera bag. I like the flap nature of the wristlet and the wallet on chain.
It is a nice camera bag but I think the flap bag/wristlet versions will hold up better over time. I like the camera bag. I have one but I don’t feel the need to have another.

I bought a gold Chanel jumbo recently on Fashionphile and got a good deal but I didn’t love it. So I thought, I’ll show it to my friend and see what she thinks. I realized what I was actually considering was getting my friend to talk me into keeping something that I didn’t want. I did not show it to my friend. I realized if I need to ask someone else then I really did not love it and it needed to be sent back, which I did. I have to remind myself if I am questioning my purchase then I need to return it.

💚 Never doubt yourself and always go with what makes your heart sing I definitely have been there before I have saved for almost one year for this one bag from Louis Vuitton that was over $3000 and it came in a wrinkled, used dust bag and all the stickers were off the hardware and it looked like it was used and had an odor to it -- I ordered it online and sent it right back --- we work very hard for our money and deserve to be happy!!! never settle and don't ever worry about anything you are very polite and understanding ❣️❣️❣️ I'm so happy you went with the wristlet they are both beautiful bags. I'm happy for you that you'll get a store credit. For me, the response is they can't match the price I paid for if I return & repurchase because of the prices are the boutiques decision. I was not offered a store credit as well.

Just got the package from Farfetch today, it look like this item is from the boutique. When I first open the package, it is well presented with YSL black tissue paper, dust bag. But Iater, there is no payment receipt and return lable inside the box. There is care booklet and a piece of white small card with item name and lots of serial # in the small envelope. On some YSL unboxing video, it come with black authenticity card, just wondering if the white small paper card is the new authenticity card?

Hii! If it helps, I purchased a YSL Solferino bag from FarFetch back in April this year, and it also came from the YSL LA boutique. I can confirm that my bag did not come with an authenticity card-just a care booklet and dust bag. I didn’t know that YSL bags came with cards at the time and the bag was in perfect condition (no issues with packaging), so I kept it. I love your camera bag and (personally) think it’s more functional than the wristlet, but I might be biased as I’m not a wristlet person 😝 Nevertheless, that green color is amazing!! You can’t go wrong with either! ❤️

I need to add that I returned the Chanel Jumbo to Fashionphile knowing that I will probably be charged a 10 percent restocking fee. So that added to my wanting to justify keeping it. But ultimately I did not want to keep a $5000.00 bag that I did not Love!
I think you made the right decision! It is really annoying to eat a restocking fee, but better to just lose that than lose the $5000 for a bag that, as you said, you didn’t LOVE.
I’m just wondering if you keep the camera bag will it always have a frustrating memory associated with it. I bought a YSL bag from a YSL store and wasn’t aware that I could not return it for a refund. I had to get a store credit. And then I had to find a replacement and I did not LOVE the replacement either but I was so frustrated with the process that I just kept it. I never used the bag, it was a small Lou Lou bag in dark beige. I recently sold it to Fashionphile for a loss but I was relieved to get rid of it and the unpleasant memories associated with it.

You know what would be great, if you did a video for people like me… newbies! Like an informational video on policies like YSL boutiques No Returns only exchanges. Fashionphile restock fee. And many other mistakes I haven’t made yet😬 I have learned all of this at my own expense. I would love to help others not make the same mistakes as I have. Maybe you can ask your subscribers to tell you their worst luxury purchase mistakes and make a video .

I would say there's no harm, especially if they're a good price. I was able to process the return without issue so in tht event they didn't fit or you didn't like them, you could always send them back.

It is a good offer to get a credit/refund for the higher price. I doubt many stores would agree to that. It sounds like you’re a bit disenchanted by the bag though after the experience. Fair enough. If you decide to keep it, wear it heaps, take it on adventures and get the value out of it. Both bags are pretty. IMO envelope clutch looks more elegant and chic, camera bag more playful and ready to party. I have the larger Lou camera bag and it’s become my favourite bag. I do have my eye on an envelope clutch too in a different colour. In different styles/colours I think both could be justified in my collection. The price point is good for the clutch. Once you make your decision whatever it is just dive in and don’t look back 😉

just made my first order from farfetch last week and the balenciaga sneakers came from the same address as my ordered from the actual balenciaga website. however, I have a friend who ordered a pair from them and it came from a random seller and looked like it was throw in the box and had been used. we both thought maybe its a display pair they sold her.
It's really hit or miss, I've discovered. At least they have a decent return policy...
When you return the camera bag to Farfetch, are you still getting that credit or is it only for if you exchange? IF there is no bonus or gift card with purchase at Newman Marcus,, then I’d pay full price (so as not to miss out on getting that bag/color) and know that you still have a Farfetch credit for an additional item. If there is no Farfetch credit upon returning for full refund, then I’d just pay the full price for wristlet since regardless, it’s cheaper than the camera bag and at least you’ll know you got one of your favorite items before that color permanently disappears.
So from what they’ve told me, if I return it and re-buy it, they will offer a credit that will cover the increased price of the bag. So no “additional” credit, just in relation to if I chose to rebuy the bag. Thank you for your input!

I just bought the ysl mini camera bag from FF, and mine was also missing the authenticity card. It leaves me very frustrated to not have it, but I got it before the price increase and in the beautiful FOG color. If Saks or NM had it, I would have just bought from there. FF just said they can help me return it. Im so annoyed bc I want to keep it but I won't have the authenticity card. I also don't want to buy it for the new price, and to see that I may not have the authenticity card again. Please let me know what you decided to do, I'm in the same dilemma.
I’m sorry, it’s so frustrating! I contacted FF and explained the situation, and eventually I was offered a credit to cover the price difference. So I did decide to send the item back and “repurchase” but with the credit Farfetch gave to me, I’m not paying the new price! I would recommend reaching out to them. Maybe they’ll do the same for you 🙂

This is the year for me of buying more luxury than I’ve ever purchased and it is an uncomfortable feeling spending more on myself than ever before. That may be an insecurity of some kind but I’m facing the same issue. I suggest for you to return the bag and get the wristlet. You may feel more comfortable spending on what you actually want and not what you’re settling for.

I’m currently dealing with SSENSE for a similar issue. Placed a sale order of a Jacquemus bag, along with jeans, a pair of Chucks, and a baby hat for for a shower gift. Got everything (including Jacquemus dust bag) but NO BAMBINO BAG. Still waiting to hear what they will do 😅
It’s oddly uncomfortable. I’m not trying to scam for a free extra bag, but I still feel some kinda way. Even though it’s SSENSE that made the mistake and not me 😢

Farfetched is a platform for small boutiques to sell their items online. The packaging will depend on the boutique selling the item. The authenticity card should come with the bag, however, I don't k ow if ysl bags come with it.
That’s what FF ended up telling me too, though I did appreciate their eventual offer of a credit to rebuy the bag to cover the new price.
I once ordered a bag on Farfetch using a 10% discount code. The payment didn’t go through. So tried to order it again using the discount code. They wouldn’t let me use the discount code again. I haven’t bought from them since.

Maybe create a new acc. Than you‘ll get the 10% first purchase discount
I think the purchasing experience with Farfetch depends 100% on who the actual vendor is. I ordered the same bag in white, and it arrived from St Laurent in NYC beautifully boxed with all the expected paperwork. A perfect example of “your mileage may vary”!

I also have an issue with Farfetch now. I ordered a YSL Toy Puffer bag in black leather with GHW last week. The bag I received is black with SHW. I actually quite like it, but the invoice shows it’s GHW. So I contacted Farfetch about this and they immediately booked a return shipment on my behalf. I am shocked because I didn’t even request for a return. I told them I would like to keep it but asked them to send me a correct invoice with SHW written on it. Now I still have no response from Farfetch and am agonizing over the fact that the Collection is already booked by Farfetch to my address tomorrow (22 November). I am not impressed with their customer service at this point.

I once bought a bag from Farfetch that came with visible scratches and nail marks all over. It was a piece of garbage. It didn't come with the Farfetch tag either, which made me worry that I wouldn't get my refund. Luckily I got a full refund in the end and the process was seamless. It was still a disappointing experience and I'm weary of purchasing from them from now on.

I think you - eventually - got a fair deal from them but do you just want a bag in this colour, or is this type of bag one you really like because this and the wristlet are very different. Do you really need two bags this shade or will one suffice because if it’s the shade that’s more appealing, then one will be plenty. I try not to buy more than 2 luxury items per year because I won’t get chance to wear them and enjoy them before I’m on to the next thing. This year I’ve only purchased two bags and one went back as it wasn’t up to the standard I expect. Doubt I can get that bag again but it doesn’t matter because there is always something else to love and covet.
All very good points! And it's true there all always be "something else." I do really like this color and the more I look at it, the more I like the bag. I do need to make a decision soon, but either way, I'm happy with how FF handled it in the end.
YSL comes with a care booklet in an envelope, it’s not an actual authenticity card.
My 2 ysl bags came with a black card in the envelope that says “authenticity” on it.
Inside the envelope there should be a white card made out of paper that has a code, this code should match the code embossed on the inside of the bag. This code has the week and year when the bag was made.

HOW CAN I TAKE LEGAL MEASURES AGAINST FARFETCH? I RETURNED TWO DRESSES AND THE BOUTIQUE THAT RECEIVED IT, SAYS THERE WAS ONLY ONE. THEY WILL NOT CREDIT ME FOR THAT “MISSING” DRESS.

This is my concern, farfetch is so decentralised, its not easy to maintain their standard across all the boutiques. YSL should come with care cards and authenticity card. I think i’d prefer to buy from an online store like netaporter. I’m also concern that for any return, the gst/vat will not be refunded. That could come up to quite an amount if the item is expensive. In addition, it has nothing to do with farfetch… i didnt have a good experience buying at ysl boutique. The sa and manager was so eager to make a sale that they did not seem truthful about the bag. I asked for a new piece, not the display piece. I was ask to pay then come back the next day. The bag u was given does not look new. There is no wrapping on the straps, the bag was not even packed well. And the display piece in the store is gone. I have my suspicion that i was given the display piece, because it is a limited ed design. Disappointed by the experience and never bought from ysl again.

I can understand the concern. If you're really worried, you always can get third party authentication, though I'm less worried because I can check the sender. For instance, this box did have the original boutique on the postage.

this companies are packaging everything without paper and proper items to protect the bag..Louis Vuitton does this ..I have LV iconic bags minus the speedy that everyone seems to have ...I am over these second hand resale companies and designers because the money they make thier is no need to be that stingy with the prices so high....i will buy a few pieces that i like here and there not wasting my money

It does not have an authenticity card. I told you that. Why are you claiming that it has a card. I own 10 Saint Laurent bags and none came with authenticity cards
I had a number of comments from people who did confirm they had received authenticity cards with their purchases, and I did myself on a previous buy 🙂
I completely understand how you feel and I believe you have a right to feel you do. However, buy what you can afford. It’s unusual to expect what your expecting from a 3rd party clearance liquidator.
