I just ordered elderberry cuttings. Thank you for this video. Elderberry syrup has kept me healthy for a year and a half now. This is the first time I have been virus free for this length of time.
I remember Daddy's coffee cans and the cuttings he was rooting . He had pecan, peach , apple and pear trees, a big blueberry patch and gorgeous azaleas ....always rooting somethng . Sure miss those days of watching my Daddy doing what he loved
Thank you for showing how easy that is to do. My neighbor asked years ago if she could use the elderberries growing on our property near her since we weren't using them. I told her that I didn't know about them, but she was welcome to them. She has since passed on, and I never went over there to see where she saw the elderberries. I didn't realize at that time how good they are for health. I'm going to go find them and propagate some to this side of the property. I'm excited to get started on that.
Growing elderberry is one of my passions. I just planted 50 more from my cuttings I cut back in December.
It's AWESOME! Beautiful, too! xo
Nice work 👍
I've never used the growth hormone but I am growing our first elderberry plants I'm so excited!!!!!! The cuttings I plan to bless others with ❤️
I remember grampa grew medicinal plants around the farm house, this was one of them. Thank you for the reminder, I am going to get me some right away.
Thank you for showing us this
Great video! Thank you for sharing this information.
I fell will help a lot of NEW people trying to learn how to garden etc..

love learning how to propagate elderberry plants.
Yep, started doing it this year. Lots of starts ready to plant out on the property. It's good stuff! ~ Cynthia
Thank you for this video! Your instructional videos are second to NONE ! You are a great teacher and speak so clearly and concisely. Starting plants from woody stems has always been tough for me and I am excited about adding this plant to my garden. May God continue to Bless you, James and your boys as you are blessing your viewers.
You are such a kind woman . I've been trying to find elderberry for months . We are starting a homestead in a few months and I just can't see myself paying 55.00 for a plant
Gratitude ❤ yes i have to subscribe learn how i propagate my first tree. ❤
Hello from Texas Patara. Love seeing all the sunshine and green things growing. I am recovering from surgery but hope to be up and around soon. In the meantime I will be watching your videos and learning as much as I can. FYI one of the big box stores has bags of soil for $2, great for all the planting we are doing. I'm going to do a feed trough garden so my girls have watermelon during the hot Texas summer. Take care of yourself. Hugs from Houston. ♥️
I need to learn to identify elderberry . I’m pretty sure I have some on the property.
Good morning, Thank you for all that you do, I am not physically able to do the things for others like you do. Thank You.
Is it necessary to have a different variety of Elderberry next to each other to cross pollinate to get berries?
I just started rooting elderberries ! They don’t grow wild here in Nevada , but I know they thrive here ! I rooted mine in just water .
Thanks for sharing! I just planted 12 American Elderberries :)
hello, do your cups have drained holes on the bottom?
Hi, when are the cuttings ready to be planted in the ground? Thank you!
I love your channel, God Bless you,,,,,
Have two current elderberries in pots that I bought but they’re struggling because it’s so hot here in Houston Texas. I’m expanding my garden and I’m trying to get more blueberries, elderberries and Goji berries. I know that’ll be good for me in my old age. I’m 66 and still going strong and still working, lol. PS you don’t matter what age you are everybody should be eating this. Also, what am I gonna do with all this okra? Lol 😂😂
I have got to find some elderberry to grow.
I was weeding the path down the side of my house earlier and found what I think is a European elder plant except it was infected with these gross hairy parasite looking things so the leaves were white and full of holes. The berries themselves were growing just fine so I picked the oldest ones off and extracted the seeds inside, I just hope they are actually elderberries. I live in Australia and after looking it up these European elders are classed as invasive weeds so it would make sense considering where the plant was
Great info!
Love your food forest/back to eden garden. Starting mine this spring. I just ordered elderberries and raspberries. Regarding your blackberries/raspberries. Do you plant them in with the rest of the food forest/bte garden or off to the side where you can mow to help control spread? Debating on where to plant mine. Would love your input!
Would Elderberry grow in Wisconsin or no?
How long before you can harvest the berries from the new cuttings
I wonder if you can get elderberry from the local nursery.
How long after you've potted them do you plant them in the garden?
Patara, do they need to be planted in a place where it's more likely to be wet? I find them growing in ditches along the road but its getting harder to find them. I'd love to start some but I have sandy soil.
How do you keep the birds from eating the berries? I have them and the birds get more than I do!
do you sell the cuttings?
How long do you keep the cuttings in the cup?
Till I see strong roots.
How fast do they grow....Oh by the way I never heard of elderberry
Grow babies grow!!! X O X O
