Because the illusion of success is more important than actual success. This is when you know that the club has been fully commercialised, it's no longer a football club.
Heard a guy on AFTV today say that even if Arteta doesn't get top 4 he should be given another 100+ million to spend in the summer, the low standards and delusion of this fanbase is shocking at times.

I have stopped to worry myself about Arsenal FC. I haven't bought the shirts since 2019 and I won't waste my money on any of the club's merchs until they sack Arteta. Our glory days left us the day Kroenkes took over the club. I will give the club another 5 years before things get better!

the whole thing with tomiyasu not overlapping isnt down to him im adament its arteta because if you go back to his first game his doing it a lot and then in his second game it stopped suddenly and stayed like that im sure arteta told him to hold back because when you watched him he will start to overlap and then stop in his tracks as if hes heard arteta say hold

Tomiyasu is also a natural CB and a much better one than Ben White. Tomiyasu can actually defend, win aerial duels, and had much better defensive awareness. Arteta has a habit of playing players out of position to compensate for his favourites

there is a culture change actually... for the worse,the coach can flex his muscles on player as much as he wants to look like "the club has authority" but from TOP to bottom from the kroenkes to most of the fans, there is something seriously gone wrong,all what matters to many people is that their honeymoon movie fiction they are making themselves about arsenal gets his script going till the end and its all sweet and nice in the most perfect world then goes very dark in a couple of bad results then their media gurus will shout at them to make them revert back to honeymoon mode or they are not real supporters
i always take the extreme example of real madrid,their fanbase could easily become the most tolerant and accept even 5 years of mess with all they have won but instead they always thrive for more,they could do the double this year if they win the cl but they still want to make steps forward with mbappe tchouameni rudiger haaland all announced to be potential signings "for real"' not the arsenal potential signing which makes many arsenal fans cream their pants all window then goes elsewhere

This manager should be a case study of how far a good PR team can take you to, even if you’re absolutely crap. Big up Lee for actually calling out the club PR. Fully agree with you on Ben White who isn't fit to lace Saliba's boots. On Tomiyasu though, I actually think he is a decent player who is very solid defensively and keeps things simple. I don't necessarily blame him for not overlapping much because he's actually a natural CB and played more games at CB for Bologna and Japan. Arteta's playing him out of position to conver for our other CB who can't defend or win an aerial duel 🤣 For me, Tomiyasu would make a much better CB option than Ben White.
These journalists also are kept in position within their media groups through nepotism.

simeone isnt boring really,he's just (too) pragmatic,he had evolved his style after all the criticism he received and i remembered his atletico in the recent years almost overplaying barca on the ball at camp nou,but i guess at some point he realised that he was starting to draw games a lot or lose 4-3 3-2 2-1 and decided to focus again on that defensive style,a bit like when emery was having auba and laca doing madness then we ended up the season losing everything and he went into his defence is the priority mode and fans turned on him as we started not winning anymore since we were barely scoring

Honestly I'm going to make a bold prediction I think Chelsea will get dragged into the top 4 race. Arsenal's record against Chelsea is good recently you've them beaten alot. I can see Chelsea dropping points to you, West Ham and maybe even Man United in their next three games, that will put them right in the thick of it for Champions league places next season considering they still have a cup final to play they might be taking their eye off the ball. They're only five points ahead of Tottenham nothing is settled or guaranteed imo.
