According to the presentation the best parts of the truck are located where you can't see them and the exterior looks like the box the parts were delivered in.
Alex look at the pistons they are raise dome or high compression pistons , they are not the same and the timing sprocket looks different than my afm or DOD 6.0 , the water pump looks different, they have piston cooling system also, if you ever built an engine you'll understand what I'm talking about
You can buy a ford truck if you want to replace head gaskets and transmissions once the warranty is up, I have a 2001 silverado 5.3 v8 with 317k miles on original motor and trans with no major part replacements just starter and alternator etc. You will never see that with an f series including the diesels
In truth I am not a truck owner or driver. If the truck is just a tool then appearance is irrelevant. That said there is no reason a tool cannot be aesthetically pleasing, you do after all take pride in them. Given a choice most folks will choose and attractive tool over a less attractive one, all things being equal. That is why GM's styling department exists and has so much input on the final product. IMHO of course.
I like it, it could be worse, but with the new parts like the pistons, in a older 5.3 if they fit. This is a work truck isn't a car like what Ford did in the 98 f150 , I was expecting a 5.7 350 but I guess the 5.3 will do it, the 4.3 is a new engine, I'll wait for the 6.2
So all of the aerodynamic upgrades and you only get two more mpg. V8s have been getting the same mpg since the 80s. Also their old engines were under powered its about time they catch up.
Do some homework, because the new 4.3 is totally different now it isn't the 350 cousin the we use to know from the 80s it has different stroke and bore
Ok if u wanna make broad sweeping generalizations, ford are driven by of farts that never get them dirty and everyone that drives a dodge is early 20's and has a lead foot
I actually love to hear the sound inside the cab!!!:D
it's about time. i needed my tfltruck fix.

I love this truck! I loved the ram 1500 now it's this!
The 5.3 is now made of aluminum with a different design. It just has the same displacement as the old motor (5.3L).
guys we need more off road tests again !!!

Is somebody doing dishes in the background?
I have a 2013 tundra, but this is still a nice truck.
The new 4.3 is designed after the LS series of engines. To me these Ecotec's are just fancy LS blocks.

355 Hp/383 lb-ft tq. 16/23 mpg.
Is there a diesel?
the 4.3 has been out since the late 80s early 90s
i though that it was inline 4 cylinders not v4
Little did we all know how disappointing this truck would be. These engineers were probably so upset while putting this truck together.

ive always found opening and closing a tail gate sooooooooooooo verrrrrrrrrrrrrry dificult
Rather have a Sierra
Making it where u have to take it in to fix it
great truck but they need to get rid of the body flares. when i saw the 2008 model i cried and laughed and then i hated the silverado after 2006
this title is misleading. i want to know IF IT COMES IN MANUAL TRANSMISSION.
Chevy doesn't sell a truck with a manual, GMs with a manual? Camaro, Corvette, and MAYBE THE SPARK
2013 headlights looked a lot better.
"Everything You Wanted to Know about the 2014 Silverado" Oh yeah? How about the 6.2L V8?
who wouldnt like to listen to the sound!
tuck ffl
Front end looks ugly. Huge fan of 2013 though.
My friend has it lol
Looks like chevy ran out of body style ideas and resorted to a more modern looking 90's body style.
Now if ony they didn't cost more than the average Arkansas house
Chevy trucks is starting to seem like only business suits and suburban dads only drive them

It annoys me how poorly they present everything.
This engineer is a tool. One can tell he's not a truck guy. He use to design Corvettes, it shows
If you want a real truck buy a Ford. Besides that truck gas already been recalled lie
These are uglier than than the last model.
The front end is very polarizing so you'd either think it looks like shit or it's beautiful.
It looks like shit.
