If you're finding the bearings are going in tight, and you're not comfortable pounding them in with a socket or an arbor press, just put the bearings in the freezer overnight and they'll drop right in the next day (contraction). Let them warm up after they're in and you're good to go. We do it all the time here in heavy industry (with substantially bigger bearings and bushings). Nice rig! Fantastic billet work on the components...
@@rcloner1895 I hear ya there! I haven't skateboarded since the 70's, so yeah...I suppose we did it then too. Where I work now some of the bearings can be a foot in diameter (or so) so they don't make a hammer big enough and an excavator track motor doesn't fit into a standard hydraulic press (never mind getting it off of the machine), so we warm the housing and cool the bearing. Piece of cake! :D Oh, one more thing regarding red loctite, it takes heat to break it loose, so avoid that entirely on an RC build or you'll cook those nice bearing seals before the fastener comes loose. Blue is the rule for these little guys...as you mentioned Phil, but just clarifying. :)
honestly i've put 10 4s packs through this rig and havent had any issues. i expected the usual large scale issues but axial has yet again created a super reliable crawler that brings me a lot of joy every time i take it out
So glamorous with that song playing in the back....nice touch. 💯💯💯 The price is also very glamorous. But $2000 may be cheap cuz it looks like a million bucks. Cheers Tomley!
This is an absolute unit. Total weapon. I have 2 choices here.. this machine cause I have 1/24 crawlers, or an xmaxx cause I have a smax.. hmmm. I'd probably take this as crawling is more my style. I'll wait for bashing machines a bit longer. I just cant get my head around this rig yet. Total monster.
Treal make some gorgeous bits ☺ the scx6 looks great but I just dont know if it would get much runtime. Can u imagine this badboy rolling down a steep hill full speed at you after a sidewalling fail? RUUUNNNN !!! 😅 Dann it looks so nice though - I wonder if other companies will get involved in the 1/6-1/5th crawler scene .....awesome vid Tomley 👌
The original bearings are sealed, they are metal shielded seals, zz code for abrasive conditions prob better choice than treal rubber shields if your gunna get muddy.
Tixover is perfect for giving these crawlers a real test, just watch out for Jonny Smith ditching Ladas in the lake! The machines axles are works of art.
Still not sure whether to put my hard earned into one of these as I have a fleet of 5th gas along with the SBR and UDR and electric is not really my thing, I only have the electric to run out the front of my place as the neighbors give me hell when I just fire them up before taking them out as nothing worse than getting to your bash spot and finding a problem to drive an hour back to fix if I have only taken one of my collection. Where can I get the stand from along with the blue parts mat as I am in need of these now my garage is ready to work in.
That was me. Had some savings though could pick one of them up and new lens but full size car gearbox started to make some expensive sounds so said f*** sold it and bought a kei truck
If you step back a second its not actually that expensive, plenty of people have that much or more in their 1/10th scale crawlers, or their 1/5th scale nitro or double to triple that in the 1/14th scale heavy equipment. Hell an Xbox Series X and one premium game is going to put you over a grand plus a yearly subscription. If you like it cool, if you don't also cool.
I will be spending less on my future Mitsubishi or Toyota 4x4 in 1/1 ! 😄On the rc subject I have noticed Element do give you sealed bearings in rtr , gmade don't ,Axial in checks so far dont
You'd think so, but not necessarily. The stock motos on the SCX6 is actually incredibly powerful and will keep going no matter how much weight you pile onto the truck. That said, yes, you'll likely have more fun with an upgraded motor and ESC, but the stock pair is actually way powerful enough for the job. And then some.
Pretty amazing truck, Tomley! 😃 I was watching with my father and in the beginning he said it was an ugly jeep... Then I said "great, because it's expensive as hell!" 😂 But in the end he started to think it's a bit beautiful, so I'm worried again. 😬 Anyway, happy holidays! And stay safe there with your family! 🖖😊
Considering its size and price, it's not that capable. It doesn't have portal axles so ground clearance isn't good for its size, and it doesn't have other features like remote locking diffs in the TRX or DIG like in the SCX10.
Sad.. I paid $1500 for my real life jeep that's taken us to work everyday the last 3 years.. couldn't imagine 2k on a toy lol.. but with that kinda money you can afford to do giveaways !!
What I like about this scale and weight is that it behaves/moves more like the real 1/1. It doesn’t bounce/vibrate like smaller scale crawler’s.

I did the same thing with my skateboard set ups yearsssss ago. Completely forgot about it lol

You can also warm up the axle housing with hair dryer... that and cold bearings should be good to go.
Yes, it’s common practice on Aircraft. We used to have a deep freeze for bearings… about -48 I think was the sweet spot 😎
@@TomleyRC , you bet…it was -35 on the Canadian Prairies this week…we could just throw them out in the snow. Bawwhaaahaaa

Totally impractical, ridiculous money, absolutely awesome!!
😅
Your music selection for this video is dope as hell.
Thanks Carlo, glad you enjoyed it
Thanks for livin' the dream for me! it won't be long before both 1/6 and 1/24 are completely after market :D superb video as always bud, thanks!
What you mean by aftermarket ?
Thanks Bee

Looks well engineered , nice and solid.
A capable rig turned beast mode with Treal Upgrades.
Another great video, nice to see Sean driving so you could focus on filming !
Congratulations on 1 million subs

You should have more subscribers at least 500k
Thank you 🙏
So cool seeing all these parts and pieces machined in a 1/6 scale
I have been excited to see how those upgrades improve the already massive SCX6! I'm really expecting to add one to my collection of 1/5 scale RCs
2 years late to the party but I have just ordered mine. Very excited 54yr old over here lol.
Very nice 🙏🥰
Great editing in this one 👍
Thanks mate
Awesome Job Tomley, looks a right beast.
The Treal bearings provided are all upsized ones.
Awesome im ordering all my treal bits for my scx10.3 next week can't wait to get them on there
Nice!

It’s certainly a beast!
Imagine if Vanquish made a 1/6 kit 🤪
Nice quality parts 👍🏼
Some one who’s actually using it as a crawler rather than a personal transport vehicle

Yes… it’s an awesome place! Jonny only lives 5 mins from there… lucky bugger 😅
cool rc and great crawling adventure
Thanks dude
That's so sick 🔥
What a awesome truck can’t wait to see it out on the trail soon bet you had fun working on that babe great video 👍🏼
SCX6 is really a total beast of a crawler - but like you its far to big for me - size doesn't always matter 😂
Yeah… it has very limited uses. And size is certainly not everything 😅
If I could afford one, I'd get one. I think having a 1/6 scale would be great.
I'm looking for metal axles for axial scx6 where it is possible to lock/unlock the differentials

The RC Stand is a ‘Fastrax’ and the Mat is a ‘Heat proof’ work mat… from Amazon or Banggood I think
Not a traxas fan but not a heater either. Dat ting is massive ya know.
Its not a Traxxas, its an Axial.
Good ole tixover
A lot of 1/5 rc are up to 2000..
Nice one! Not for me ($$) but all that treal gear looks great!
Can u get other green metal upgrade parts
Next upgrade is a REEFS RC 1/5th BEAST 2000 servo 144kg istead og 40kg stock.
144kg! That will turn the ground under the wheels 😅😅
$2000? I can get an ok real car for that.. wow! It is amazing though!
That was me. Had some savings though could pick one of them up and new lens but full size car gearbox started to make some expensive sounds so said f*** sold it and bought a kei truck
Not for nothing, but you can ride this RC. So technically you are getting a form of transportation
It would be awesome for Axial to do a Toyota Landcruiser body 😎
I agree 👍
Kevin was riding this crawler, when are you going to do that?
Dear Santa.
WANT!
Beautiful machine!
Does cost more than my real car, though...
Yes… cost more than my car 😅
@@TomleyRC it's POTENTIALLY and issue when you spend more on an rc than your real car.. I do say potentially slightly gingerly. Lol.

Hi
Hi
That Jeep needs a skateboard and a leash. Plus cup holder for coffee.
😅
Too rich for my blood
Put all that heavyweight on that truck time to add better motor
Does not look underpowered. What is installed? The new 1:8 tank for example 300 has a 740 brushed Motor wich can handle 4s battery's.
The more is huge
Looks can be deceiving
