Thanks for taking the time to check out the game and share your thoughts (and playthrough) with the community! It really helps people get a sense of the game and figure out, for themselves, if it's something they'd enjoy.
Thank you so much! Glad you enjoyed it 🤩
Thank you for your video!
Great to watch the playthrough as well!
Awesome job
i love wingspan so much! Cant wait for the release!
My old housemate has wingspan but he took it with him when he moved out! Sometimes we play it together but I want one of these for my own again! Now I'm in doubt which one I Wil get haha
I like Wingspan and I own all the expansions released so far. I usually play it with 3 or 4 other friends so we usually play it in larger groups. This game seems indeed similar in some way, so I think we might like it, but there is one thing which I think we need to consider and that is the number of cards. Wingspan comes with a huge stack of cards right from base game only and every expansion added more of them. The combination of powers they get is really variable, so while there obviously are some of the cards which are in some way ‘op’ (did i say Ravens?) it really is possible to build a viable engine in either forest, grassland and wetland. It looks like Wyrmspan has a lot less cards and thus i wonder if, playing at our usual number of players, the ‘luck’ factor of drawing the op cards (the ones whoch give you extra actions/coins) might be a little too high. If the ‘good’ ones are gone will you have the chance to recover? In wingspan that might be difficult, but possible. What about wyrmspan?
Wingspan was already a 2-3p game for me, so hearing Wyrmspan plays better at lower counts is not surprising. It is kinda a shame though given more players means more opportunities for those “opponent gains X” effects.
Quick clarificarion question (I must be missing something): I've heard a few llaces that you play right to left instead of like wingspan, but in thee playthrough it seemed to me like play still went from the left side of your player board. What am i missing?
Thanks for the great playthrough & review!
When you activate your row (in Wyrmspan, it's the "Explore" action) you activate from left to right (your explorer walks through the cave, gaining bonuses or triggering abilities each step of the way). In Wingspan you activate from right to left - so you take the largest bonus printed on the board that isn't covered, and then activate your birds right-to-left (i.e. the newest bird first). In Wyrmspan you don't have a "biggest printed benefit" - instead you have several smaller benefits, and you take each of them (e.g. gain one resource, and gain one dragon guild advancement).
@@HexStarDragon ahh, yes - that makes sense now. I guess I was thinking of how you still play birds from left to right 🤦♂️ thanks 😃
Yes, I also had to think twice to make it all make sense in my brain! 😅
Oh boy - extra action coins is baller!!! 100% buy now!
I think it’s a mostly fun change/addition! :)
Oceania pretty much solved the egg spam in Wingspan
Yeah, that is true! Haven’t played that one too many times :)
Yep, it is annoying that several reviewers compare this to the first version of wingspan instead of the latest iteration.
@@niekka1978 I think that base wingspan is a good game, but with expansions its amazing. So if we are just talking about the base game, wyrmspan might be better
Earth replaced Wingspan for me. Maybe this is better than Wingspan but this type of game is getting played out now.
Second comment! 🎉
Woop woop! Hope you liked the video 🤩
Man I was afraid of this....Basically ill end up selling my all in wingspan big box for this. Its cool and disappointing at the same time. I could just ignore this and keep wingspan but if you love wingspan, why wouldnt you want wingspan2.0. so yah....sad :(
Don’t do it. Just act like this isn’t out! Enjoy the game you have.
Or...like I'll do - play both!
@@2099ross I dont have enough time and ill likely only want to play the new one over the old one when I do have time to play so feels wasteful to keep the old one.
@@rb4551 I understand that, I probably delude myself too much thinking I'll play all my games 😆 I should probably cull much more than I do - but all those "possible" plays seems to still bring me joy!
Ah, sorry about that 😅 I think there might be room for both in some collections, but you know your own collection the best! Hope you’ll get a chance to play Wyrmspan before selling off everything, just to make sure you like it better as well! :)
Everything looks worse here compared to Wingspan.
I do not agree, but that is fine! Glad the video helped you find out that this might not be for you :D
