I really miss manchester bus colours of orange white and brown soo much better than stagecoach and first buses. My favourite is the mancunian bus with two double doors that ran on the 219 route. Although I was only a child I use to think it was a special treat to ride that mancunian bus. It made you feel proud of where you came from. It was however incredibly noisey , everything rattled especially going over the bad roads to Manchester. I use to love to sit in the seat between the doors, only that bus had that seat. My other favourite bus was the skinny 409 bus that had like a fin across the top at the front and back. I also remember a strange bus , I think it was the 330 to Hyde. That had a slim entrance door but very unusual had a second double exit door that slid across. It was slow but different and iv never seen a video or picture of that type of bus since the 1970s. I did like the Leyland national but as a small child it scared me to death as it sounded like a dragon breathing from the noisy fan at the back lol

p.m wonderful days bus confusion i was an inspector for GM Buses so many bus operators the public were totally confused but great fun.
