What a great piece of film! I am a Stockport lad, now ex-pat in Australia, and I was a postman at Exchange St. from 1986-1991, and spent many a time catching buses to the various walks I did from the bus station, mainly Reddish walks. Loved to catch the deckers and sit up top, now seems a life time ago...

I joined GM buses as a minibus driver in 1984 and after seeing off the Beeline buses, I transferred to doubledeckers. I quite liked the Iveco's, hated the Dodges and the Metro riders. I left in 1994. Whilst I was on Minibuses, a lad from Marple called Ian Jones joined us and drove them for a while. He left and later changed his name to Bruce Jones and became an Actor.I changed my name from Ellis and became a Macclesfield Millworker.

How dirty are they 😂❤️I love thinking, if you go from here to there...you'd find me at school, my dad at work, my grandparents at their house.. would love to go back for few hours..

Same here, and it seemed great that you could just stick your hand out and they would stop almost anywhere for you to get on like a taxi

A year before I was born in the town that I’m from. Great video. It’s funny how little has changed in 30 years.

An old trick we used to do if we were skint, when there was a big enough queue: My mate gets in line and I let a few other people join the queue behind him, then I wait 2 or 3 people behind him, he boards and buys a day saver, then sits down (on the lower deck on the left) and passes the day saver ticket out of the window to me, so we both get on with the 1 ticket. 😁

I used to drive for the beeline bus company in 1989, The dodges wernt that bad it was the beeline sherpa's that were really awfull. The beeline was based round the back of great portwood street ( next to the cement works) and I dont think it ever made any money! the company only lasted about 3 years. p.s. we used to call the little gems "little germs".

Reminds me of the day waiting for a 330 and a bus driver I knew took me to look down at the river (Mersey) - see the railings on the right at 17 seconds.
The river was in flood and about 8 feet from the pavement next to the WXYZ bus stop. They were checking every ten minutes and contemplating closing the bus station to everything.
