That's why live shows are usually bad compared to an artist's album version.
If you watch the video where Erra does their recording session for Impulse, it's the same thing. They cut each line into different takes.
i understand that because you do want the best sound, but it's much more impressive if he can do it all in one take. Take a look at some of Erra's live vids and Garrison can scream all his fast parts pretty damn well
I know. That's why they are all tired out. But still, it's a cover nonetheless. There isn't any specific rules to make a cover anyway. It would be amazing though if he did do it in one take.

Jesse can't even sing his own parts live.... or spencer from periphery, or lukas from Veil of Maya... unrealistic expectations are what cause disappointment.
your argument about guitar holds no weight either. even if a song is built riff by riff, you still have to be able to play them in order to record it. there's still skill involved.
