One of the best Mockumentaries I've ever seen. You can definitely trick someone into thinking this really happened if they aren't familiar with Atlanta lol.
Unfortunately I didn't know until well after the episode was over. The only thing that had me question it was the way the wife was acting. Everything else I completely got duped by 😂.
This episode deserves Multiple Views, there are a lot of things in it that are True and honestly I believe it's more than people are recognizing.... 💯 Also he Didn't go Crazy, He was Killed when he didn't accept the $75million Buyout, His Death Was their Endgame!!! RIP Thomas Ronald Washington 🙏🏽🤣🤣🤣
Donald is a genius and true ATLien. The fact that Thomas went to SCAD…. Savannah College of Art & Design, a prestigious art school is easily overlooked if you are not from here. Us slaves-I mean students changed the acronym meaning to “Sleep Comes After Death” 😂 I know all my fellow alumni and animator friends knew exactly what kind of documentary this was going to be from the jump lol. Thank you for reviewing this! I’m pretty sure Oz is referring to episode 3. Would love for you guys to review that one next!
I was an animation major and I had to tell folks this is what they showed us these documentaries about Disney animators. This made me smile and piss myself laughing at the In betweener reference lol 😂
I mean goofy really was basically a black single dad. Plus the movie some amazing moments. The music, dancing, Roxanne making people feel things, and the heart felt emotions. It is a classic movie.
So hype y’all did this, i know ppl have there opinions on this season of ATLANTA but they been knocking these episodes out of the park. Growing up on a Goofy Movie this really hit home, give them all the Emmy’s for this one!
That was one of the BEST episodes of the season that didnt include the main cast. a lot of those were in the season before. i knew it was a mockumentary but i found myself having the urge to look up the co-workers names hahahahaa. The name of the show was based on a book turned in to a movie "The Spook Who Say by the Door" the Documentary based on the movie was even more entertaining on how they pulled off getting the movie out without Executives knowing the book, which was about a black revolution and overthrowing the country.
Washington originally wanted A Goofy Movie to include a scene where Goofy and Max wind up in a thrift store and they discover Huey P. Newton's retained chair. I lost it! 😂 🤣 😂
@@JaylaPLuna And as soon as I heard that his new security had "suits and bowties" I literally spit out my water. 🤣 😂 😂 Definitely a Top 10 Atlanta episode already.
I 👏🏿loved 👏🏿this 👏🏿 episode!!! It’s so layered and there are so many nuances that I’m pretty sure a lot of people especially Black people didn’t realize about the Goofy movie and why we gravitated to it. I remember being in elementary school and they definitely showed that movie to us numerous times on Fridays. This was the best episode of season four so far if there’s anything to pinpoint out of season 4 it will definitely be this episode in my opinion. Also, did anyone catch the Easter egg or the subtle jab in his name it was Thomas, Reagan, Washington? As in Thomas Jefferson, Ronald Reagan, George Washington ? Maybe it was a coincidence but I definitely noticed it
Probably my favorite of the season and maybe even the show with how well donald balanced the psuedo drama, commentary, and funny ass moments. Some of their strongest work especially from a production and rights stand point. RIP Thomas Ronald Washington
You left out one important scene, but I understand why. Being that this was a lighthearted conversation, it probably would’ve been out of place to discuss when they talked about Goofy and Pluto. That was extremely important.
It’s amazing. This entire final season is great! Plus when you consider how Goofys origin of originally being meant to be a caricature of Black men at the time, it adds a whole new true layer. Even on top of that, looking at how Tom’s story closes mirrors Donald’s when it came to making Atlanta is crazy
I knew about the reference because of Nipsey Hussle, and saw the movie a few years ago but never read the book. This episode was brilliant, up there with Documentary Now! with the verisimilitude. They weaved in and out of real history to subtext to humor and back so skillfully and subtley, so utilizing Analysis of the Goof and the industry's relation to minstrel was a stroke of genius imo and to have Thomas be loosely based on real black animators like Floyd Norman was also a brilliant stroke. Easily top three Atlanta episodes imo That part with the cheese had me in stitches.
When he went in about not being able to ride your bike outside, I lost it! 😂😭 This show is so good and so underrated. I’m always excited for the next episode.
@@kameronwright9925 I did! It was bitter sweet that it was the last one but I do like the way they ended the episode. Judging 👀 by how it was going, I figured they would do that at the end.
I started catching on after they said where he died, and especially when it said “In memory of” at the start( I did miss the first 15 minutes as my girlfriend was watching it when I came in, and goofy is my favorite movie)
I understand why people who watched the beginning and waited years in between seasons didn’t appreciate it at first. As someone who got to binge the show the show I was able to remain detached and just appreciate what I got. Those first 2 seasons being solely with the main cast (who are all great) made it frustrating for the OG fans.
Just saw this today, as not being american they almost had me, i was watching like “oooow I never knew disney had a black ceo”😩. I loved this episode, really felt that! growing up I loved to skate wasn’t cool bck thn as a black kid to do while listening to blink 182 & linking park, so my brothers loved to call me white for that, but thn seeing guys like kareem campbell make skateboarding cool for black people by inserting Our culture into it really changed how other blacks started to look at skateboarding birthing a whole new generation. This episode was a homerun, season 4 is really taking the bad taste from season 3 away AND doing even more.
I'm pissed because Atlanta is on Disney + in the UK and they release it 3 or 4 months after the seasons air in the in the USA. I just love the show because it genius Black dark comedy. And I love when show goes crazy.
I love this episode, I love Atlanta. The line about Goofy black, was actually said by the animator. I thought it was real, cause in 1991 I was outside. When the riots happen, that all on the news, so I thought it was real, cause shit do happen like that. A lot of black kids who watch the Goofy movie, felt like it was black movie. I mean Max was dressed "Hip Hop" and Powerline was Bobby Brown...
I had no idea people saw goofy as a black character, that's really interesting. As a kid, I was too stuck on whether he was a dog or if goofs were a whole other species. If dog, then why Pluto? If goof, what are Mickey and Donald when we know regular animals exist?!
I never really followed the backstory of the actual production of a goofy movie and only watched it as a young kid, so until i looked it up i legitimately thought that episode was factual lmao
The "coworker" who managed to do the Goofy laugh with a straight face deserves an Emmy for that alone
nah there had to have been like 30 takes of that before he got it right lolol
I must’ve watched that clip 20x’s 😂😂😂
