This transaction fee nonsense needs to be fixed. What kind of system is it where someone wants to create a collectible item and everyone else has to pay for their actions. Imagine if someone buys a Picasso painting for a few million and everyone's grocery bill that day becomes $150 more expensive! Stupid. I hope the devs can do something about this.

The fees are exactly why BTC will never be a currency and nothing more than a store of value… just factor in the transaction fees when you’re trying to take profits.
I have transferred very small amounts($2) of BTC via the Lightening Network, from wallet to wallet and there were almost zero fees??
Bitcoin can't be used as currency coz most governments class it as an asset and charge capital gains tax every time you spend it. Imagine if you had to pay capital gains tax every time you spent fiat.

Very low information for why the fees are so high. $0.01 fees were originally set up by satoshi and still could be that low at global volume.

It is temporary aberration. Also the lightning network will help but BTC is NOT ready yet . That is why alts like ETH and SOL have such high use cases

Bitcoin transaction fees are so high because most people don't realize that digital tokens have no inherent value beyond their usefulness as a medium of exchange.

IMO. The ridiculous ttansaction fees are gonna push people out of BTC and into Alts. That is why ICP is doing well. Near $0 fees , infinitely scaleable and it doesnt break down like Solana.

Yeah, tell me about it. I made a $600 transaction that cost about $200 in fees. But should have sent 10-20$ more, was under by $1-3, so sent an extra $6 which in total cost about US$70 including fees. Ouch... But some BTC I bought a year ago, from that wallet, US$170 was up to $420, so not too bad all in all

I watched someone get into a short and instead of purchasing for 50k worth they hit an extra zero making the purchase size 500k! Whoopsie, & not only that they took a loss because well you saw it bitcoin went up not down. Thats their loss, but just a reminder mistakes can happen. Protect your funds and your trades stop losses will save you. Or just go the easy route and DCA always the best option as you will not be chasing the ups and downs. Happy post halving everyone!

El Salvador became the first nation to make Bitcoin legal tender - in part because of the the desire to save Salvadorans some $400 million annually in money transfer fees. The government-created wallet, Chivo, is Lightning-compatible and designed to enable seamless cross-border payments. As of October, Chivo had consistently been one of the most-downloaded apps in El Salvador.
The Lightning Network was invented, in part, to help Bitcoin function more like the digital cash that Nakamoto envisioned. It processes transactions “off-chain” much more quickly and cheaply than Bitcoin’s core blockchain - with fees that are typically fractions of a cent. Lightning transactions are also less energy intensive than transactions on the main blockchain.
