  • Are you tired of feeling frustrated with your welding results? In our latest video, "New Tool Accessory Fixes My Bad Welds," Vince takes us on an enlightening journey through the art of preparing and perfecting steel welds using innovative tools from Flex. With his expertise and the right accessories, Vince turns common welding challenges into opportunities to create stunning modern art.
Starting off, Vince tackles the cumbersome task of removing scale from steel. Instead of using traditional methods that often yield mediocre results, he opts for the Flex SightMax segmented sanding discs. These discs are designed to efficiently strip away unwanted material without damaging the steel underneath. Watch as Vince demonstrates their effectiveness, ensuring a clean and prepared surface ready for precise work.
Next up, Vince introduces the Flex Razor Slice grinding wheel. This tool is a game-changer, especially for those using cordless grinders. Its design is optimized to maximize battery life while delivering unmatched cutting power. Vince expertly slices through steel, demonstrating the ease and precision that the Razor Slice grinding wheel offers. This segment is a must-watch for anyone looking to enhance their cutting techniques in metalwork.
The final step in Vince’s process involves cleaning up the welds. Even the best welders can leave behind some imperfections, but with the Flex 4-1/2" grinding wheel, Vince shows how simple it is to smooth out and polish welds. This powerful tool not only improves the aesthetics of the welds but also ensures their structural integrity by removing any excess or splatter.
Throughout the video, Vince shares tips and tricks that are invaluable for both novice and experienced welders. He emphasizes the importance of choosing the right tools for specific tasks and demonstrates the dramatic difference they can make in the final outcome of your projects.

Well done Vince. I made a lot of shelves from steel. Then started making furniture from steel. I made step ups and tables. I will consider buying a die grinder as I'm making custom sheet metal boxes from 1.55 mm galvanized metal. I designed a cabinet for the lounge to carry cds and dvds. I'm considering to use sheet metal for the shelves. Well done in your grinding and welding.

Awesome video, especially those segmented discs. But @VCG Construction , Vince, you really should use a dust mask when you are descaling. That stuff is definitely not good for the lungs.

Yo Vince! Next time, if you would, explain how the segmented wheel has a tapered edge at the beginning of each segment. Just a thought. Nice work, take care, and God bless! 😁👍✌️

That flex zipped through that 3/4 steel. You is quite the welder Vince. Looks like Flint learned you quite well 😮

I'm more of a grinder than a welder myself..... 😆 That cut is horizontal bandsaw work, not grinder work, unless you're out in the field without access...

In the real world, that grinder and those discs would be an embarrassment... They took for ever to remove the metal,, no or little sparks means none or very little metal removed. And those flap discard were fit to be throw away after a minute or two...

I’d like to see more welding/metal fabrication content Mr. Vince. Idk about other people but I won’t say anything negative about any welds you lay. Trust me I’ve done worse. Currently learning to TIG weld via UA-cam so I’ve done beads that will never be seen by another living human being 😅

You know what they say, “If you have to grind your welds you are a grinder… Not a welder.“ Personally, I’m really neither. 😊

It's kind of annoying flex is trying to make it seem like the came out with these first. These have been around long before flex started producing them.
